- 2021-09-13Hello fellow users!
Just wondering if anyone knows the cost of detailed scan in NUH as private patient? And does it matter if my gynae from private refer to me NUH - whether will I be there as private patient or subsidised.
Greatly appreciate if anyone knew the latest cost and updates. Thank you :)

Anyone has similar experiences before ?#advicepls
- 2021-09-13Hello Mummies!!
I’m almost 12 weeks in to this pregnancy and I’ve noticed that it’s not the “morning sickness” that’s triggering my nausea but more of the phlegm that is constantly hanging out at the back of my throat!
Does any other mummies experience excessive phlegm production too? How do you overcome that 🤮🤮🤮🤮
It’s pretty yucky to keep throwing up phlegm. 😮💨#advicepls

- 2021-09-13Hi moms,
This may be abit unimportant but I get to see my gynae every 3 weeks and sometimes I think it’s unnecessary but seeing my baby every other 3 weeks is also liberating. I’ve also signed up for a package- hence the every 3 weeks check.
But I’m just curious, I feel abit (lousy?) in that sense that I rarely have questions for my gynae each time I’m being asked if there’s any concern or worry?
I’m a first time mom and so far, my baby has been nothing but a bliss. I rarely get pains just the usual cramps and aches here and there. Gynae says my baby has been doing well too and I’m grateful.
It’s just that I get nervous for each visit when I’m being asked if there’s any concern for discussion.
Is there anything important that I should ask my gynae about? Or any questions and concerns I should keep in mind?

- 2021-09-13So i’ve had terrible morning sickness and staying at my in laws place. My in laws are not always home so there’s always no food. Before anything else, let me just put a disclaimer that i did not or expect any food to be cooked for me. I understand everyone has their own commitments and i can learn to cook if i want to. So i went back to my mother’s plce on certain days sometimes sleepover and the difference it felt is vast. I feel alot better over at my mother’s place and when i’m back here, i feel super sick again. Anyone felt like this before? I dont know how to explain it to my husband w/o making him think i’m making it up.

- 2021-09-14Mummies, it's been a struggle lately as we have been trying to re-introduce Formula (NAN) back to our baby who just turned 1 years old. The term re-introduce as we mix fed him when he was still up to 7 to 8 months. But after that he was fully on BM. But right now we have decide to try weaning him off breastfeeding after a year of successful journey. He doesnt want to accept his formula milk even full cream except for BM.
Would appreciate suggestions/tips etc to help our baby have a smooth transition.

- 2021-09-14Hi I just went for my week 20 detailed scan at kkh as subsidize patient. After the scan I ask the doc on baby length and weight but doc say for now they don't measure it based on weight or length.

- 2021-09-14I’m honestly going bonkers over my 3mo baby’s feeding. She suddenly became very difficult to feed. Taking longer to drink and doesn’t finish her milk. Milk will leak from her mouth while drinking…. I’ve changed multiple sizes of teats but none really worked! Made me confused also if it really was the teat issue… and she is always so sleepy during her feed. Suck every two times and stop… I’m worried cos i fear she is not going to have a proper weight gain at the rate that she is going. I dunno if its milk strike, and if it is, how do i overcome this? Any mummies have experiences like that? Can help this desperate mum here??#advicepls #pleasehelp

- 2021-09-14I’m attending appointment at the Stork centre @ KKH for twins, where they are more specialised.. I took the subsidised route this time round. However the past checkups, I spend more money compared to taking private doctor.. (My previous 2 girls was with Parkway East hospital and the second is KKH Dr Suzanna).. Erm maybe it cost more for the checks cuz it’s twins..? Since I took subsided route, there is a specialised doctor and a trainee doctor.. The trainee doctor is the one who asked me to do thyroid test, check kidney, do ECG.. I did the ECG though. But not the other 2.. Cuz during my 1st trimester with hyperemesis gravidrum, the constant continuous vomiting makes me vomit with blood, as maybe I have nothing to vomit already. And drinking water also vomit out again. Taking urine test, but not much urine, as not much water in my body.. Therefore I told the trainee doctor, that will happen only in the 1st trimester, hence I didn’t take the thyroid and kidney test.. I’m just sharing my heartfelt..

- 2021-09-15Hi everyone… it was around 5am when i heard a loud thud and woke up suddenly only to realise i was screaming as i knew that my 3mo had fallen from bed. She was sleeping with my husband and my husband was hugging her but they were at the corner of the bed…
The reason why she sleeps with us is because she won’t sleep with on her own in her cot/bassinet. I feel really awful… checked for any bruises or anything but there was nothing… husband said she was on the floor body down but head was turned sideways… i feel like it’s my fault for not taking the extra precautions and i feel like a bad mother…
Wanted to bring her to the doctors to see if there’s anything wrong but husband said to just observe… I’m so tired, scared and worried. Any advice would be great…

- 2021-09-15Hi everyone.
I was given 3 appointments at KKH which I believe is for the counselling before Down Syndrome testing, first trimester screening and then related blood test.
However, my boss and work place is not very supportive and I was frowned at for taking MC/time-off for my appointment.
I know that for the monthly consultations, the doctors issue MCs. But do they also issue MCs if I am only there for counselling session? I really need an MC if not my boss would give me hell. Sigh.

- 2021-09-15I’m 26 weeks pregnant and am worried everyday. My husband refuses to be vaccinated and he goes out to work meeting people everyday. He doesn’t believe anything on the news and says it’s propaganda 🤦🏻♀️ he believes the vaccine is the virus and sees no point since people still get infected. He discourages me from getting vaccinated while pregnant as it might harm the baby. Everyday I’m living in anxiety worried he might get infected (touch wood) and bring the virus home. I’m living with my parents who are fully vaccinated. My parents are worried about me but every time I approach this subject with my husband he gets angry and asks me to stop it. He’s just so stubborn I cannot take it 😢😠
Sorry for the long post. Just needed to rant. Idk what to do anymore 🥺 #advicepls

- 2021-09-15Hi mummies, need some advice!
My LO is coming 4 months old, and I suspect he has reflux as he spits up milk often and has wet burps etc. from what I googled. Hence we always put him upright 30 min after feeds. We are trying to do lesser quantity but more often now, every 2-2.5 hourly.
How much are your babies drinking at 3.5-4 months? When we try 100ml, it seems he spits up lesser and sometimes none now. But after feeds he cries and wants more, if we give more he will vomit or spit milk.
What should I do? He’s still producing wet diaper and poops daily. Gaining weight now at 7.7kg coming 4 months old. #1stimemom #advicepls

- 2021-09-15Has anyone ask to get induced at 37 weeks going 38 due to severe pelvic girdle pain?
- 2021-09-15Hi, any MOE teacher mommy here?
I teach in a secondary school, and usually can only leave school at 4pm. I'm a FTM in my first trim and seeing gynae at KKH under subsidised route. I was given an appointment to do counselling for down syndrome tests and blood test next Monday at 12pm.
However, as the appointment does not involve seeing a doctor, there won't be an MC issued.
May I know what kind of leave do you take in such a situation? Since we don't have annual leave.
My RO is aware of my pregnancy but she is not very happy when I leave early or when I am not in school. She is the kind where we need to report to school to Zoom in school even though we are attending a full day course. Cannot Zoom at home.
For the previous appointment where I left early at 11am, she was very unhappy. So next appointment I took MC (first MC of the year), and she went on and on about how it's not a good idea again when she found out the MC was for gynae appointment. She even blamed me for not scheduling appointment after work or during weekends. But KKH does not have weekends or late appointments after 4pm. On top of that, I cannot request timing as this is a public hospital, I'm under subsidy and with the covid situation.
Sigh.

- 2021-09-16Working from home doesn’t necessarily mean that I have more time spending in the kitchen. I believe most of the working parents are always in the looking for easy-to-prepare recipes for kids, like myself but at the same time I also don’t want to discount on the nutrition and taste for Koyouri as well. Good thing I found out about Hakubaku baby noodlles! Hakubaku” means “White Barley” in Japanese and their baby noodles are made with all natural ingredients. Their somen, udon and spaghetti made from wholesome, all-natural ingredients with no added salt, flavourings or colourings. Comes in easy, resealable self-standing zipper pouch for storage and one pack is good for 20 servings - perfect for busy days when I need to whip up Koyouri a quick meal. Aside from being easy to cook, I love that it is pre-cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces, allowing baby to hold easily and encourages baby-led weaning as well!
As easy as 3 steps, I can prepare a delicious food for Koyouri! All I need to do is:
1. Pour the pre-cut noodles into the pot,
2. add her favourite vegetables
3. add in fish and egg and it is ready in minutes!
Koyouri just loves it! Hakubaku baby noodles are available at major retailers and more information is available at singapore.hakubaku.asia. Grab your very own Hakubaku baby noodles now!

- 2021-09-16Just needed a place to rant.. my husband is getting lazier in terms of looking after our baby.. I'm the one who carried out all the night duties (change daiper and make milk). He basically just sleep like a log.. fyi I'm also working as well.. when he reaches home after work or during weekend he also hardly helps out.. maybe just awhile and he will stick to his phone.. he even commented that our baby is very difficult to take care.. he even commented that our baby only knows how cry, drink milk and sleep.. this breaks my heart when he made that remark.. you don't even spend time to take care of him and understand him and yet you make that remark..
Sometimes i just feel very tired and very angry with my husband..
Finish ranting..
- 2021-09-16Yesterday i just yelled at my 4 month old baby.. I really felt very bad about the whole thing..

- 2021-09-17Gave birth last week via e-csect, and I am one of the lucky ones blessed with a good supply, and have been exclusively latching baby since birth. I know I should be thankful (and I still am) that my milk supply is adequate for my baby, but I cant help but feel so so so tired and so so so angry everytime it’s time to feed. My incision wound also still hurts so I have to rely on someone else to help bring the baby snd swaddle/burp the baby after. This schedule causes great distress to me and whoever is doing “night shift” with me.
Even though its been only a week Im considering just giving up breastfeeding and just giving formula. But with everyone saying how good breastmilk is, Im stuck in a dilemma- should i still breastfeed at the expense of my own mental/physical health or give baby formula for my convenience?
Any advice? No hate please… I’m just really tired… Thanks.

- 2021-09-18Hi mummies/daddies. My second child (6m) cant sleep on her cot during the day. She needs to be held to sleep, and will wake up every 15-30mins. And hence, she only take 1 nap during the day, lasting about 2 hours.
This does not happen to my elder son; who can easier sleep on the bed himself after a few pats on his butt. And takes 2 naps during the day when he was an infant.
This makes me realised, all babies are different 😮💨
Is there any tips on letting her sleep herself? I cant do anything the whole day thanks to her.

- 2021-09-18Dear mummies, I am 5.5 weeks pregnant now. I called up for a gyne appointment, but the nurse told me is too early to see the doctor. Instead, she asks me to wait until 7 weeks. Is this true that I'm too early? I am a bit worry because I don't have any guidance for now, like how to deal with nausea, any supplement I should take, etc. Is there anything I should caution or take note of until I meet him?
