Is my MIL weird?

Everytime my baby is crawling towards me, my MIL will prevent/stop her and carry her far away from my sight. Whenever my baby whined leading towards me wanted me to carry, my MIL will carry her away prevent her from looking for me? Is she weird but I just find her action very annoying…

What if you moved towards the baby and picked her up, or took her over from MIL? Does your MIL resist or tell you why you can't carry?

when baby was on the floor and I scoop her up, mil saw it and from far came over pretend to play with her and just carry her away from me? To be honest I don’t know why is she behaving this way?
