- 2016-08-09Hi mummies
This is related to a previous post of mine..
My pump model is spectra but the parts I connected to is medela swing maxi shield and membrane...i saw these valves and membrane which I'm considering whether to switch the type of valve n membrane I used in the past..
The one I'm using is those flat yellow rubbery kind with a plastic cap.
Anyone used the other types before too? Wanna know which is better... the spare part for mine is alot more expensive(the $36+ first photo) while the other kind seems more worth it...oh and any drastic difference between the maymom($7.90) valve and the normal one($11.90)?
Pardon me if my question is not very clear cus abit hard to explain thru writing...

- 2016-08-09I am a first time mum, my pain tolerance is super super low to the extent when drawing blood I feel pain for the insertion or injection by requesting & using the smallest diameter needle. Docs and nurses often teased me for being such a baby.
Recently I started to have a lot of phobias for delivery pain. Initially I was very worried but now I am having a freak out even I have scary dreams about the painful labour process lately. Now I am really constantly thinking of the pain that a pregnant mum (referring myself) that I have to endure and go through in future. I told my mum and mother in law about my serious fears regarding the pain. Mother in law told me the pain is not the dilation or tear in vagina, the real pains are the contractions throughout the 10hours+ duration. Is this true? Or the pains are when the baby is coming out of the vagina? I am so scared mummies! Pls help me.
Pls tell me what to do because I am really extremely scared of the pain. I don't know where exactly the pain comes from and how to overcome them? Should I just go for C-sect to end the painful process for someone like me who is so afraid of pain? But I wanted a faster recovery so thinking of going for vaginal delivery with epidural. I heard epidural is a pain reducer, not a pain reliever. And I am very worried I am going to suffer prenatal depression right now.
How or what should I do to seek mental consultation to relieve my tremendous fears for pain?

- 2016-08-12Anyone bought this before? Isit good and stable?
- 2016-08-12Today my daughter told me this, "Aiya,my friends will not come to my birthday party one la, cos I don't have any friends." My heart broke silently.
She has always had difficulties making friends in school. She's the one who changes best friends everyday. And hangs out with girls from another class because the other girls in her class doesn't wan to hang out with her during recess time. Every parent teacher meeting, her teachers will bring up the subject of her not being able to socialise well.
At the age of 8, all she wants is to have her friends like her and count her in as part of the group. Acceptance. But for the past few years, she has been struggling with that. And I could see that her self esteem is slowly eroding. She has a bossy nature and I know her friends don't like it. But she's only 8. She doesn't have strong self control unlike us adults.
As a mum, I want so badly for her to feel accepted. Trust me, I've told her and taught her about controlling her bossy nature. I love her for who she is, her bossy nature cos she's a great leader. And I dont know what else I can do to help her. I'm just sharing this here cos I can't share on Facebook. I hope I have the wisdom to teach her to love herself no matter what.
