Which type and brand of feeding utensils is recommended when starting solids? Am confused with the different shapes and sizes (length of spoon handle - is it better to get one with longer handle?). Lastly, do I need to sterilize them?

I like the munchkin soft tip infant spoons. The handles are just long enough for both adults and babies to use. The material is also soft enough to not hurt baby if he accidentally bites down into the spoon. You can sterilise if you want but I reckon a good wash with hot water and mild washIng liquid will do.

When my cousin first introduced solids to my niece, she used this utensil set gifted by someone. This is the set she got. The handles are easy to grab and my niece loved the Sophie design.

When I went for weaning talks they recommend spoons which are not too deep.. maybe more like a spade kind

I use munchkin soft infant spoons for a start, From there i just move onto ikea color utensils spoon

Any brand is fine. Most importantly is that it's soft.

pyopyo or philips avent (you have to sterilise).

Munchkin :)
