- 2023-09-18Hi everyone! I'm in my first trimester (week 6) now and my morning sickness is pretty serious. I feel nauseous throughout the day here and there - just feel like gagging suddenly, not triggered by any smell. Any tips to curb the urge to gag? :( i tried popping a haribo gummy whenever it gets bad but don't wanna rely too much on gummies cus of the sugar content. Thank you in advance!
- 2023-09-18Hi mommas out there, my 14months old has been vomiting after meal. We brought her to the GP and doctor said it’s just stomach flu and will go away in 1-2 days. Prescribed her anti vomiting and fever medicine. But it’s seems like she not getting any better. She still vomitted quite a bit after each meal. Any similar experience dear mommas? Should I admit her to the hospital for check up? #firstbaby #firstTime_mom #worried

- 2023-09-18Hi mummies, I’m currently week 14 and in tri 2 already, however still facing on and off morning sickness. Feeling nauseous all the time and still puke occasionally. Are you guys facing the same issue as well or have subsided once tri 2 hits. Usually ppl around me say that tri 2 is honeymoon phase, no more ms. Hoping to see some positivity.. but I’m still feeling pretty much miserable
- 2023-09-18Hello fellow mummies! Just curious does the gynae check the amniotic fluid level at every scan? I have never heard my gynae mention it, but only the growth of my baby at every scan. How do i know my fluid level is normal? Im 18 weeks now.
- 2023-09-18Must my 1 month old baby wear handmitten at all times? My mother in law keep nagging to wear but her nails are short and my baby keep sweating but insist to wear hand mitten and socks and swaddle her when we are using fan only.
I mean I feel hot for my baby and after feeding my baby will sweat the whole face.
She was arguing to me that the hands and legs are cold but usually babies blood circulation is not good hence cannot just base on touching their hands and legs but based on checking their back to check for their body temperature.#pleasehelp
- 2023-09-18Due to the risk of salmonella infections, children under age 5 should not eat undercooked eggs. Runny yolks (meaning the yolk is not solid) may not be safe enough. This is because toddlers and babies are at greater risk for salmonella-caused illness.24 Feb 2022

- 2023-09-18Hello experienced mamas!
What are some tips you can share that made postpartum recovery a hell lot easier for yourselves? Do share!
- 2023-09-18We purchased an oven before we move in new house from a private company that allows to pay instalment. When we move in, so many things happen and we forget about the payment. Total up to only 5x payment. Like few months later, they message to ask about payment. We apologize and we paid the subsequent month and the following month. So we paid twice, left with 3 payments. The first payment, I asked for receipts but took very long. When asked, the person said she is no longer working in that company but is able to help with the payment. We gave benefit of doubt and still transfer second time. The second time, the person ignored me. Until now 1 year later they never find us. We try to call company say someone will contact back but never. If u were to be me, what would u do?

- 2023-09-18I’m feeding my LO my breastmilk. I’m currently running slight fever (37.4 / 37.5 degrees). Can my LO still drink the milk? Should I pump and dump?
- 2023-09-18Any mummies went thru failed induce can share me your story? Or any success story able to deliver normally after 2nd induction.
I was induced cervidil for 24hr and only dilated 1cm altho my contraction is very close apart and very painful and gynae just gave me a prostin pill induce in hoping ill atleast dilate to 3cm.
However i feel like i have no hope in dilating further and higher chance to have to go emergency c-section. And im also scared too much induction will harm baby.

- 2023-09-18Anyone here with NUH gynae subsidised route? How’s your experience so far and will you be switching to NUH private with your preferred gynae?
- 2023-09-18Hi mummies, due to failed induce, there’s high chance ill be doing emergency csect.
The thing I fear the most, for someone who have zero pain tolerance.
Can mummies share you csection story, the pain level and how long you took to recover

- 2023-09-18Hi, yesterday, my 22kg 6yo was screaming coz his feet burned on the hot dry floor at the wet theme park so i carried him for about 300m until there’s cooler floor. I’ve been feeling frequent but short sharp pains around my stomach like stitches or cramps. I don’t know if it’s related to carrying my son or something else or nothing to be worried about.
I’ve had 2 miscarriages before this. I’ve been very careful this time - plus I’ve been weak & tired so i haven’t carried heavy things or overloaded myself.
Can someone assure me that they carry heavy things and things turn out ok?
- 2023-09-18Any mummy has idea or tips on sleep regression?
Baby is yet turned 4months but ive heard so many stories already
- 2023-09-18i had a baby with someone. we decided to co-parenting our baby together. i've always talk to his mom and discuss about the baby. he didnt make any effort to try and i did gave him a chance like asking what's his input. either he said "i'm okay with anything" "i'll follow whatever you decide"
we had an argument and we stopped talking. i told his mom that i felt upset and its not fair for me to kept communicating with her and not the father of my child. dont get me wrong, his mom is really a nice person. i just wanted him to be more involved.
one day i had enough. i told his mom to tell him, either he change and communicate with me or he won't have access to the baby. i was really upset and angry, i didn't mean it at all. i am 2 months postpartum and i couldn't control what i said, yes i know i shouldn't use that as a reason. i've been nothing but nice to him. he doesn't want this baby at first and told me to abort but then he changed his mind. he wanted to be part of my baby's life. because im thinking about my baby and i don't want her to grow up without a dad, i accept him to be involved with my baby's life.
but then after i outburst, he texted me. it was really awful. he said that he's tired to keep on having petty arguments with me. he said if i don't want him to be part of my baby's life then he suggested to change my baby's last name and leave him alone. all i'm asking for him to talk to me instead of talking to his mom. maybe the way i phrase it might hurt him but by him saying that it's hurting me too. it seems like he doesn't care about the baby.
i can't help it but to blame all on me. because of me, my baby won't have a dad to grow up with. maybe if i kept my mouth shut and not expressing what i felt, this wouldn't happen. i've been crying the whole day thinking about this. i don't know what to do. he deleted our chat so whatever sweet memory we had about our baby, it was gone. just like that.

- 2023-09-18Dear Mummies who just delivered their 3rd child or above after the 14 Feb 2023, can I know, did you get $4k or $7k after the child delivery? (7-10days) Thank you in advance moms.. ☺️
- 2023-09-18my 3months lo, 1.5months adjusted started sleeping through the night. we went out and got home q late so i think he is tired. usually he will wake up 2 times through the night. but he woke up and 5am today and only drink 80ml and his diapers are dry. is that okay that he did not pee through the night (5-6hours) ?
generally he will have heavy wet diapers when awake. he drinks 110-130ml
- 2023-09-19How long did your c section take? And do you feel anything during the process? Like can feel the knife etc
I might be going for emergency csection due to no progress, and want to prepare myself mentally.
- 2023-09-19My confinement nanny has not been allowing me to carry and bond with my baby saying that it's for our own good that we don't carry him so much, and that we don't know how to put him to sleep. He is 5+ weeks old now. He seems to have a preference for her and everyday I feel like he doesn't know I'm his mother. Honestly feeling quite depressed but my husband doesn't get it. Sigh.

- 2023-09-19My 4 year old toddler is currently taking s26 formula milk, but I'm thinking of letting him try other milk. Any recommendations on what milk I can give him? For eg, UHT packet milk, fresh milk, low-fat/ full cream milk etc... Thanks :)
- 2023-09-19My daughter just turned 1 yr old. Since she is fussy eater, I'm still giving her formula milk. But can I give both formula milk & fresh milk..? As in maybe 2 feeds of formula milk n 1 feed of fresh milk per day.#advicepls #firsttimemom

- 2023-09-19Hi mummies, I’m currently week 36 and baby is only 2.1kg. Baby has always been on the smaller side (around 15-20 percentile) but this week’s scan is only around 5th percentile. Doctor say don’t have to worry too much since me and my hub are quite petite as well. Any mummies who are also experiencing this and what can i do so that baby grows more? #advicepls #FTM

- 2023-09-19I have been feeding formula to my child all along, and should I continue now that she is already a toddler? Should I change to cheaper brands or stop formula, or maybe stick to S-26 since she is doing well? and we are happy with her growth progress...

- 2023-09-19Breastfeeding mummies, do you prefer to latch or just bottlefeed ur LO ebm when outside? I tried to direct latch only but baby seem to still be hungry after latching both breasts
- 2023-09-19I had my first appointment at 7 weeks to confirm pregnancy and we saw the heartbeat, but my next appointment is in 6 weeks for the FTS at 13 weeks and I’m super anxious…how do I convince myself not to worry so much and have faith that baby will be okay in these 6 weeks?
Second pregnancy and first was smooth no issues but I was also this anxious back then…im just really worried about miscarriage and whether baby will grow well in these six weeks and I hate not knowing in the middle whether everything is ok
I think last pregnancy I had a middle checkup around 10/11 weeks before FTS but this time my dr said everything looks ok 6 weeks is good enough
- 2023-09-19Just went thru csection and seems like painkiller is not helping.
Is it normal that csect scar stings on first day ?
- 2023-09-19Hi all, is it normal to have a discharge of clear fluid liquid at 7 weeks of pregnancy?
- 2023-09-19My 4 year old toddler is currently taking s26 formula milk, but I'm thinking of letting him try other milk. Any recommendations on what milk I can give him? For eg, UHT packet milk, fresh milk, low-fat/ full cream milk etc... Thanks :)
- 2023-09-19Looking for some advice or recommendations.
Went for trial at schonemama @128$
They tried to sell me package $4870/10sessions. Very. Hard. Selling.
Feels its a bit too much.
My gap is about 3.5 fingers wide and need advice where to go and whether treatment is effective?
- 2023-09-19I’m due in a couple of weeks and I’m having all these negative thoughts about hating being a mum, what if I find that my kid is a burden, husband not helping out and I have to do this all alone. Im sure im not the only one who felt this way but does these thoughts really get better when kiddo is here? :(
- 2023-09-19How long will csection incision and pain get better ? To the point you dont have to rely on painkiller.
Is it normal the first day its super painful you cannot even move literally bedridden.
And usually the first few days do you sleep lay flat or your upoer half body slightly elevated

- 2023-09-19I changed my child's milk to fresh milk after 1 year old, but realised that she has become so skinny! I miss her chubby thighs and cheeks. Anyone else experience this?
- 2023-09-19Hi mummies, I am just wondering is it normal to have disrupted sleep throughout the entire pregnancy ? Had morning sickness earlier stage of the pregnancy and it was really bad, I had to wake up from sleep to vomit. And literally food in food out.
Now entering 16 weeks, finally morning sickness got a little better, then it comes all the back aches and also nasal congestion, toilet runs in the middle of the night. I have to wake up/sit up to get air, and it is like in the middle of 3am, and worst that I am not able to go back to bed afterwards.
By everyday having a few hours of sleep (sometimes 3-4hours) really makes me think if everyone is going through some form of it, and if it is going to be like this throughout the entire pregnancy. Heard so many stories that 3rd trimester that it could get worst, and 2nd should be the “honeymoon” period. ( :( I couldn’t imagine there’s still 5 more months to this)
And omg to all the mummies, it must been a whole lot to go through during the pregnancy. It makes me wonder if there are really magical mummies that have no signs of pregnancy symptoms at all (eat well sleep well and able to work well).
- 2023-09-19I am at week 38 now. My mucus plug came out not all at once but little by little twice, followed by little pink blood for a day and didnt stop. I do not have regular contraction, just some menstrual like cramp. Do I need to go hospital immediately? Any mummy experience pink blood like me? Is it normal?
- 2023-09-19What formula milk should I get for my newborn? Am afraid I don't have enough to pump. Any good recommendations ?
- 2023-09-20Don't know why MIL & Husband don't even bother to keep the house neat & tidy ,it's always so messy , I don't mind cleaning but at least help me for now coz I'm already 38 weeks pregnant..I'm also a human ,I get tired easily & cranky all time ,but none of them give me any support & concern. Sometimes I wonder why do I even get married to a guy with so many red flags in the first place when everyone else told Me not to go for it. I'm not sure if I should get a divorce. Any help please 🥺
- 2023-09-20Husband always called me names be it jokingly or seriously , come on ,I have mood swings please understand I do get hurt sometimes, even I voice it out , hoping it will be stop , carrying a child is not easy . Everytime when we talk about it, he will start saying I'm being unreasonable & he will use the child as an excuse, saying that I wanted the child ,like as if he doesn't want it . I feeling lost & don't know which direction should I take moving forward. So tired of his nonsense.
- 2023-09-20Im at 15 weeks. Can have sex during pregnancy?
- 2023-09-20I’m seeing the doctor at KKH for the first time for dysmenorrhea/cramping during menses but why do they advise my spouse to tag along as per their SMS. Reason is so they could do some “test” on him. I don’t see the connection of my “issues” and him. Or is it some kind of automated sms thing? Any one encounter before? Any advise/comments?
- 2023-09-20I have a question to ask about infantcare. Is it normal that their windows are usually closed? The one I sent my boy to has all their windows closed. I believe it’s to protect the little bubs and it’s totally understandable. I hear from my friend, a FTM too, that she drops by sometimes to check on her bubs from outside. So I wasn’t sure if all IFCs in SG generally have their windows closed? It’s a silly question but I am genuinely curious! As an FTM, I don’t really have any point of reference for this.
- 2023-09-20Thinking of changing formula to S-26 Any feedback on this milk from mummies who use it?
- 2023-09-20Those that went thru csect, on which day did you latch baby? And did your colostrum come out?
- 2023-09-20No one mentioned how lonely, anxious, fustrated it can be when approaching EDD and seeing other mums pop one by one but I still don't have labour symptoms. It really doesn't help when people keep checking in to see if you've delivered and my own husband keep asking me everyday if I'm feeling any labour symptoms. Other mums are already discussing about breastfeeding but I'm still so lonely in the wait.. I know I should be thankful that baby is still healthy and I've more time to myself but at this point, the wait is getting so depressing..
Wondering if any Sep mums are still baking at 39/40 weeks and feeling the same? :(
- 2023-09-20Can I have sex period my period comes after my miscarriage. It’s been 3 weeks since my miscarriage. Been wanting to have sex but, I’m afraid not sure if it’s the right thing to do. Also will there be chances that I can get pregnant again?
- 2023-09-20Getting hand me downs so wondering any recs? Thank you!
- 2023-09-20Going on a short trip to Thailand with baby. Can bring milk powder using the luggage 🧳? Must declare? #advicepls #pleasehelp
- 2023-09-20When taking my glucose solution, I accidentally spilled a little of the solution. I did not ask for a new bottle as I thought that the amount spilled was only a little. But on hindsight, I’m worried that it will affect the outcome of the test. Wondering if anyone had a similar experience or if anyone has any advice? Thank you!
- 2023-09-20hi mummies who delivered or will be delivering in kkh, im under subs class and have been wanting to do pre admission when i was 34 weeks but was declined. Its because in the health buddy app under admissions, there's still nothing. I am 37 weeks 4 days today and when i went for my 36 weeks 6 days check up, i wanted to do pre admission but was again declined.
Any option?? Since my 34 weeks 6 days appointment it has been with a midwife. Not a gynae or doctor. So when I asked about this, they did not even help me out on answering my enquiry. I am keen to do pre admission so that husband won't be rushing to settle all of the documents by himself as english isnt his first language.. :(
- 2023-09-20I have shortlisted a couple of milk brands for my child! S-26 came up top in the list, recommended by my gynae and mum (maybe I am a S26 baby too!). Any mums to share experience?
- 2023-09-20Just gave birth and was so demoralised when i asked nurse to teach me how to latch baby and they told me my nipples are short and inverted and not able to latch ☹️ and i need to pump instead
Anybody facing same issue and did you pump thruout your hospital stay? Even when not producing anything you still pump every 3 hrs ?

Hi!
I would like to know if there is such services of infant care centres during night time? I heard of night nurse/nanny but I don't want it to be live in overnight. I would prefer to send my baby to a centre instead.
I'm currently working shift job so there are 2-3 days of the week that I will be working night shifts. My husband is working office hours but he's hopeless in taking of the baby at night as he always complain on taking care of her alone. During the day, my baby is already enrolled for infant care on weekdays (7am-7pm).
So if you happen to know anything about night time infant care services, please give some suggestions! Thank you!
- 2023-09-20Should i stick to giving my 13 month old boy formula or switch to fresh milk already? understand we should be giving our LO's full cream milk now but formula's skimmed milk right?
- 2023-09-20Hello !
For those that already delivered at KKH , but under B1 class. May I know if spouse can stay over?
And also what do we have to bring? I know just a change of our clothes and baby’s clothes how many do we need to bring? Are toiletries provided for B1? How about pads? Do we receive goodies for B1?

- 2023-09-21I’m 27 weeks and 4 days. Just went to the gynae recently and she said that my baby is overweight. My baby is currently 1.5kg when its fetus weight should be 800-900g. Should I be worried? Baby is also measuring smaller at 26 weeks. Overweight but small in size :/ First time mom here
- 2023-09-21I have been feeding formula to my child all along, and should I continue now that she is already a toddler? Should I change to cheaper brands or stop formula, or maybe stick to S-26 since she is doing well? and we are happy with her growth progress
- 2023-09-21Hi mummies, my baby girl started to develop these at about 2 months, she is 3.5 months now. It comes and goes, any mummies have the same problem? I am exclusively breast feeding, could it be my milk is too ‘heaty’?

- 2023-09-21Hi mummies. Do you encounter your babies after drinking frozen breast milk will have constant tummy uncomfort?
- 2023-09-21Hi any mummies will worry about your pregnancy if it will go well till Edd? I have been worrying a lot every day, esp when I heard and saw from social media about how some baby heartbeat stop at 7 month n etc. it’s so scary and sad to see all these, I hope no one have to go thru all these and I pray everyday tt mine will go well. I also had a loss last august hence this round extra worried. Wonder how u all cope?
- 2023-09-21Hi, can i know any mummies has similar issue as me? I was told that i have this gestational diabetes after my glucose test. The range of the result is not much of a difference. But hospital requires me to attend zoom or even meet the nurse to know more on this issue. As i am heavily pregnant 7 months plus i am feeling soo fatigue already plus i dont wish them to stress me out on this as its not high. Anyone have this issue? Isit a must to attend or do all this? 😭😞
- 2023-09-21I changed my child's milk to fresh milk after 1 year old, but realised that he has become so skinny! I miss his chubby thighs and cheeks. Anyone else experience this?
- 2023-09-21Hi mummies, i just gave birth few days ago and found out i have inverted nipple and not able to latch baby and that made me so sad and demoralised.
They told me to pump or hand express instead, to also use pump to stimulate milk. I tried pumping for 3 times, was able to get very few drop of colostrum. But pumping kind of affecting my mental, especially when i need to pump every 3 hours to stimulate milk/colostrum. Altho i only tried few times.
Currently baby on formula since birth.
Am I really a bad mother if I want to only formula feed my baby instead of exclusive pump or mix feed ?
Any mummies formula feed their baby from born and doing well ?

Does anyone have any experience on average wait times for private and also is there any difference if I just make appts at Jurong Clinic for Women? Thanks in advance!#advicepls #FTM

- 2023-09-21I am ttc & seeing to medical help. I wish to visit a hospital/ Dr who are kind, empathetic yet being honest. I have heard of Dr who ask patient what treatment they want. Instead of helping patient to understand what is all out there & what is it that the patient needs for basic checks & go on from there. And heard of hospital/ Drs who push patients to do treatments or take the route that requires them to pay more, when in actual fact; they need not go thru that route. and also such recommendations for female gynae.
Thank you :)

- 2023-09-22Yesterday was the first day we brought baby home , day 4 of baby, and it was the worse. From evening until morning, baby cannot stop crying no matter what we do, we carry him, we fed him, changed diaper, put baby oil on stomach, swaddled, given pacifier, nothing works. His eyes are just wide open and keep crying bloody murder.
Is this normal for newborn to be like this and what do we do ? As we are first time parents we are very helpless and clueless. 😔 Really very stress and i feel useless as a mother that i cant do anything. Esp now im still recovering from e-csect.

- 2023-09-22Hi i just gave birth via emergency csect last tuesday, and until now i have yet to poop. Is this normal? I did take stool softener during my hospital stay but i ended up shitting myself in bed twice cause it just came out of nowhere. Then i stopped. As of now, day 4, i only pooped 2-3 times and thats about it.
I do feel the urge to poop but when im sitting on the toilet bowl, i dont feel anything. And im too scared to push hard or strain due to the pain if the incision.
Any mummies went thru same thing? And is it normal?

- 2023-09-22Hi all, would like to seek some advice, please, as it’s my first baby and I am quite clueless.
1. Does anyone have a new baby shopping list to share? I drew one up, on my own, but I’m afraid of missing out buying stuff which the baby needs.
2. Are cot bumpers necessary? The one that is tied to the sides of the cot. If so, how many sets do I get? Not sure if I should get an extra set to change when baby’s spit up etc get on the existing set and I need to change it for washing.
Thank you!

- 2023-09-22Hi mummies, due to my nipple situation, i was advised to exclusively pump instead of latching.
Those mummies that exclusively pump right from day 1 (not latching), other than hand express, do you use manual or electric wearable breastpump and hows your output ?
Im only day 4 PP, and trying to pump to stimulate my colostrum, and using wearable breast pump (honestly, not religiously i skip night timings just to keep myself sane), but only manage to get few drops which only end up on the flange and not the inside.

- 2023-09-22Im at 24weeks and felt that baby is too low. Everytime the baby move i can feel and sense something at the cervix/pubic area as though it gonna pop. Baby kicks both left and right side. I guess its in tranverse position. Told the doc but no advise given and was told to come to hosp if there's contraction. Should i be worried about? Or what it can be done?

- 2023-09-22My baby is currently 4 days old and as per hospital, they always feed formula 25 - 30ml. When should i increase my baby’s milk intake, like around which week roughly and how to know when to increase ?
And is it normal for newborn to not finish 30ml.
He’s currently on full FM.

- 2023-09-22Until which week/month should i feed my baby milk every 3 hours? Like when do they stretch the hours to 4 or longer.
Cause it’s really taking a toll on us, especially first time parents, we have no free time in between. It’s always about preparing baby’s FM milk 😣
- 2023-09-22Usually around which day will milk comesnin ? Not colostrum but milk. Ive been hand expressing colostrum and always only get 0.5ml both sides after 30-45mins. And i wonder when will real milk kick in.

- 2023-09-22My daughter just turned 1 yr old. Since she is fussy eater, I'm still giving her formula milk. But can I give both formula milk & fresh milk..? As in maybe 2 feeds of formula milk n 1 feed of fresh milk per day.#advicepls #firsttimemom
- 2023-09-22Hi mummies, my baby is turning 2 in 2 months time. He still drinks formula about 4 times a day and still from bottle. Karihome formula.
But just got to know from a post that kids their age doesnt need to drink formula at all or atleast still drink but not from bottle ( eg sippy cup )
As i've been growing up with surroundings that still bottle feed up till they got into kindergarden atleast. And i thought ot was normal to bottle feed as every child in the playgroup still drinks from bottle.
Thankyou.
- 2023-09-22my baby just turned 2 months.
1) she is on formula milk and poop only 2-3 times per week. is this normal? the texture is still okay and colour is okay too. just the frequency of the bowel movements.
2) when she drinking milk, it sounds like blocked nose but she doesn't have runny nose. she doesn't seem like having difficulty to breathe but i can't help it to feel pity for her. do i need to see a doctor for this?
3) my baby spit up everytime after milk but the amount is like 1-2 tablepoons. sometimes she will let her phlegm out after milk. is this normal?
when do i need to change her formula? like what symptoms do i need to look out for? what kind of formula should i change to and the brand? she currently on S26.
pls advice🥲 #FTM
- 2023-09-22Do any of your baby uses different brands of milk bottles at the same time ?
Eg avent natural & tommee tippee
I received a few diff brands of bottles for free. So far baby is using avent natural, and thought of getting another set of bottles so we dont have to keep washing and sterilise for night feedings.
Should we just use the different brands that we got instead of buying another set of the same brand ? If baby is suitable. Or will the different brands confuses the baby due to different teat feel
#FTM #firstbaby
- 2023-09-22My baby is 5 days old, is it ok to start on tummy time ?
If yes, whens the best time ? He’s feeding on 3 hourly, and most of the time he would just sleep after feeding.
For this when’s the best timing to do the tummy time ? In between feeding?

- 2023-09-23Hi, I’m currently almost week 20. Since week 18…one fine day when I woke up from my sleep to my horror my cheeks both side flushing badly like as if I did 90 mins exercise. Next 2 days I went to the GP…GP only prescribed me with uniflex topical cream and told me that is not rosacea been almost 2 weeks and I’m still suspecting is hormones imbalance. Anybody got similar issue…with red flush on cheeks/face? Very stress…before pregnancy I don’t have such issue…until 2nd trimester. Don’t know when the flush will be gone…is it after birth everything will be balance again??? Is not pain…is not itchy…no heat sensation too…just 2 side red flush cheeks.

- 2023-09-23So….hi mummies. Would like to vent out.
It’s my first baby, currently on MAL and my husband is working. There’s little support from my parent. My in laws however was very supportive would come and help but I don’t like how they tries to take care of my child. Example, offering pacifier, suggesting to feed honey or water. Ofcourse there are things that are good, but the boundaries was when, she told my husband she wanted to spend a night with my baby at her house, or she requesting to bring baby out overseas now that baby has a passport.
I as a mom, who waited 2 years just to have a baby after a miscarriage ofcourse stepped in and said no. Hence, I started shunning her off, told her I can manage baby alone. I’m fine doing it. My husband didn’t understand why am I so over protective, but it’s my baby. My. My mother on the other hand, has been very quiet ever since she knew it was a girl. So, okay.
The second issue I’ve been copping up is my husband is working 12 hour shift. So ofcourse when he’s on off, I looked forward to it. I asked him, multiple times to look after the baby, I’ve prepared some breast milk, go ahead and feed baby while I take a long proper shower, while I cut my nails while I just have a me time. That off day became, him doing the house chores. Much appreciated but, if I can complete the house chores in 2 hours why can’t he? Are we living in a bungalow? He even went to the extend of making a remark saying he doesn’t understand why am I tired when I told him, I didn’t cook, I didn’t vacuum the house today, please take care of baby in the night I’m exhausted.
I let him sleep the first shift, the first 4 hours he got sleep while I tried to pacify baby to sleep. You mean the next hour you can’t take over while I get a fast nap? I had to keep the toilet door open and have a fast shower while he can take an hour to shower. Reason? He was having his me time watching his movies.
Husbands are useless tbh. MAL are not resting. I’m working to keep a human baby alive too.
