Water retention after birth

Anyone had water retention from their thigh to calf after delivery and did not wear compression socks and just leave it as it is? Does it go back to normal after few weeks ? I only wore during hospital stay but sg weather is just too crazy if youre wearing socks without aircon so i just stopped wearing it
