- 2021-07-20After almost 5years of trying.. I finally got pregnant this year..
But at my 7th week.. yesterday, I bled and went to KKH. I had a miscarriage.
Apparently the Dr said that my baby should have grown to 10-11 weeks by now. Meaning to say during my previous scan did they see wrongly Coz at first the person scanning couldn't find the heartbeat. But last minute she tried and managed to find a tiny bit.
Coz it didn't grow any bigger than 3mm since that day.
How do I cope with this loss?
Everytime I wake up from my sleep, my heart aches and it feels like a nightmare.
I can't bring myself to celebrate Eid Adha today. I just feel crushed.

Im just quiet conscious coz my white hairs are sprouting and its a lot! I know this is not that important but just hoping maybe you can suggest one to make me feel better. Thanks mommies! ❤
- 2021-07-20I’m currently in early first trimester n under subsidised route, previous pregnancy also subsidised. Wondering if it’s worth to switch to private route at KKH? Or is it more worth to go private hospital if I wanna go private route?
- 2021-07-20In view of the increasing no. of community cases in SG, will other mummy change your stand on going for vaccination? I'm in week 20 now. In dilemma whether should I go to better protect myself and my LO. Still there isn't enough studies to prove that it won't harm our LO after the vaccination in the long run. But without the vaccination, it means that we are more vulnerable.

- 2021-07-20Hi all,
I had a missed miscarriage that was discovered at 11 weeks (baby stopped developing at 8.5 weeks). My breasts were hardly swollen through my pregnancy and my nausea went away completely almost immediately.
Had my D&C 3 days ago and woke up today to sore and painful breasts. I noticed a milky clear liquid leaking out of my nipple today and was wondering if anyone knows if this means I am lactating.
I've tried to do Google searches on lactating after miscarriage and abortion but most advice is about how to stop the lactation (because it is emotionally and physically painful). But I see this as a gift from my baby.
I am actually considering to express the milk and either donating or storing the milk for the future since we are going to try again for a child immediately.
Anyone tried expressing after a pregnancy loss successfully? Not sure if I can do so since I was only 11 weeks along.
Any thoughts or experiences to share? Would greatly appreciate it.

- 2021-07-20I started cooking for my child when she’s 6 months old and the first dish was puree. Back then I was a full time mom till she was 1 years old. It was difficult to part with her when I decided to head back to work. But despite my busy schedule when I started working, I still prepare the food for my child before I head out for work. It was tiring but all worthwhile when your child tells you “Mummy, your food is the best. I love to eat your yummy food.” Till date if I didn’t cook for my child for a few days or so, she will request me to cook for her. So in this process, it also helps to creates a bond for me and my child when I cook for her and she appreciates it.
As Mommies, we will want the best for our child. So start cooking for your child and don’t give up. Home cook food are more nutritious as we know what ingredients are place into the food.
Let me know if you cook for your child and share with me what are some of the challenges you face while cooking for your child.

- 2021-07-21When my child was 18 months old, I enrolled her into her first enrichment class. It was a phonics class. The reason why I enrolled her for it was for her to be expose to the sound and words early. Thereafter I also enrolled her into Heguru to help her in the brain development. Although at the initial stage she showed some resistance in attending the classes, over time she enjoy the classes. And as a result from the early exposure to enrichment classes, it have benefitted my girl to be more sociable and is now more acceptance towards enrichment classes.
Are you also a KIASU parent?
Let me what’s the most KIASU thing that you did for your child. Do you agree with what I did? Will you send your child for enrichment class at 18months, else how old do you think it will appropriate to send your child for such class?

- 2021-07-21Hey mums and dads!
On racial harmony day, our little ones are encouraged to dress in ethnic clothing for a little celebration in school. Do you find it a challenge? Do you end up dressing them in your own ethnic costumes?
I found it helpful to exchange ethnic costumes with friends of different races. That way the kids get to experience dressing in a different ethnic costume and we don’t unnecessarily purchase clothes that the kids may only wear a handful of times.

- 2021-07-21I decided to go exclusive pumping as I’m not sure if my baby is full after nursing. In the first month, i pumped 4-5 times a day and each session with about 60ml of beastmilk after emptying both breasts. I’ll pump about 15mins per breast.
My baby now drinks about 100ml per feed. So I’m topping up formula during the day and full formula at night as my breastmilk won’t be enough to feed her.
Any breastfeeding mummies can share how do i increase my milk supply now as I’m in my second month?
- 2021-07-21My firstborn is 2+ now and I have been trying to get pregnant since a year ago but to no avail. Any advice for me increase my chances of getting pregnant? I am turning 38 soon and I’m really eager to conceive. Please help.
- 2021-07-21Hi mummies, anyone have 2 months old not on scheduled feeding? (Every 3 hourly) My boy is not hungry every 3 hourly, can go up to 4 to 5 hours drinking 60/90ml only. Is it ok? If he seems ok with weight gain and wet diapers.

Anyone took the package? Care to share if it’s worth it.

- 2021-07-21Hi mummies, care to share where I can possibly get free samples for diapers and baby stuff (wipes, breast pads etc) without having to go through a consultation with an insurance agency etc? - 2021-07-21Hi mummies!
I’m a mother of 3 but am still learning new things every day. Please bear with me…
I’m 2months pp, birthed via c-sect, lochia previously stopped after confinement and I have been exclusively pumping bm for baby3 since I was day 1.
Recently I’ve had intimate times with my husband and realised I started bleeding again. The bleeding is not alot and frequent, but it does soak up 1/3 of panty liner.
I’m not sure if this my period coming back or if it’s anything else.
I did not experience this with my other 2 pregnancies prior so I’m pretty confused about it.
My supply did not dropped, neither did I feel like I was having “pre-period symptoms”.
Any advice please?

- 2021-07-22The shape of these actually gently nudge your tot into having a pincer grip without having to hold his/hand. If you use a pebble to write in the sand you can roughly figure out how your child would hold one of these and therefore how it helps in the pincer grip.
They may be a little expensive but they’re solid and they last! They colour very well too and come in a cute cloth bag for easy putting away.

- 2021-07-23Hello parents, anyone sent their kids to sunflower preschool IFC? Just sent my 5 months old baby and already have so many problems.
- 2021-07-23Every child are different and what is suitable for other children might not be suitable for your children.
I bet many parents are in this same situation.
We are constantly looking for the product that suit our children the best and at the same time are not too costly. But even if it’s slightly costly but it’s the right product for our child, we will still get it for them as long as it’s within our means.
For me when my girl was younger, I have been constantly searching online and reading reviews all of the different products. In order to find the best suitable shampoo, shower gel and etc for her. Buying and trying it out to see if it suits my girl.
Don’t we wish that some stuff that are overseas could be available in SG too? So we don’t have to pay for the expensive shipping.
Do comment and let me know what are some of the best buys you bought for your child that you think other parents should know too.

- 2021-07-23Hi all! Should we bring our breast pump to hospital during delivery? I’ve a spectra S1 and a portable medela freestyle flex as a gift from a friend - haven’t figured out how to use them yet 😅 I’m delivering in Mount E orchard, wondering if they’ll have breast pumps to rent or if I should bring my own
Also, if I were to bring my own, do I clean and sterilize all the parts prior to going to the hospital (but how long before and how to store them to ensure they stay clean before delivery day?) or can I do the sterilization in hospital? (I.e. somehow get access to boiling water hahaha)
Thanks in advance!! :)

- 2021-07-23We have finally finalised our confinement nanny for baby due in Oct’21. The amount quoted to us is 3500 nanny’s salary + 1100 agency fees. It excludes red packets, levy fees, and meal allowance (we are vegetarian household). So we are approximately expecting around 5K SGD of total expense. Just want to know how much have you paid in total in pre-covid times, and how much are you paying in covid times. This is our 1st baby, so don’t know if we are overpaying or not.
Thanks !! #1stimemom #advicepls
- 2021-07-23Hi my baby is 5mo & she doesnt like it when we do tummy time. Tried to distract her with toys even wet wipes she will only last for a few seconds and starts crying and shows that she’s uncomfortable. I tried to teach her to turn her head to side if she’s tired but she resists. She doesnt ahow any interest or attempts to roll or flip. She only love to stand and sit. She even tried walking but with my support of course. She likes to stand and hold the edge of the table (with my support as well) Is it normal for her to skip certain milestones? Does any mummies experience this with their babies? Am i being too paranoid that she doesnt turn or flip or have tummy time like others? - 2021-07-23Hi mummies. Ftm here, just wanna check is it normal baby not peeing at night? My baby is 10 weeks old, sleeps abt 4-5 hrs at night before waking up for milk. Before sleep, I'll change her diaper so she has fresh diaper. After feeding when she wakes up at night., I notice that her diaper is still dry. She'll wake up again at ard 6-7am and sometimes it still dry.
Is there anything that I should be worried about? I'm scared that she is dehydrated thus not producing pee. She's on fully bf, latching on demand. Should I bring her see pd? Or is there mummies here that has the same experience with their LO. Thank you!
- 2021-07-23Hello everyone. I will be trying to DIY a confinement once I give birth. But contrary to most chinese families, my family does not believe in confinement practices at all. Any tips and tricks to follow? E.g. Can i reuse use leftover water from the bathing herbs pail to wash hands? Or must be solely cooled boiled water? What are some must dos and what are some things that are ok not to do?
Will have my family to help with anything, but just that they are skeptical and unsure of any traditional practices.

- 2021-07-24Hi mums, anyone have been seen by dr benjamin tham at TMC, how is he? Is he good at assisting natural delivery? I have signed package with him, however, everytime when we consult him, it only takes 3-5mins, and all of our questions are answered briefly... worry about the delivery arrangement…
Thanks a lot 🙏🙏🙏

- 2021-07-24So as the title of this post says ‘Choosing the right primary school’
My girl is 6 this year and she will be in primary 1 next year. I started looking at schools when she’s 5 (not sure if it’s early or late). Im staying in the north region and have my eyes laid on Ai Tong Primary School. I choose this primary school for my girl because it also focus on the arts of the child which my girl likes. So I feel that it will be a good fit for my girl.
I’m staying near the school but not near enough to apply for the school. So…… I decided to move to stay nearer to the school. Really hope that my girl will be able to get into the school.
Leave me a comment, let me know how do you select the right primary school for your child and will you move house just to get your child in that school of your choice?

- 2021-07-24Wanted to share my pregnancy journey thus far with a cervical polyp (in case you are looking for someone in the same situation).
I was first diagnosed after having very dark brown discharge (coffee colour) up to 1 day after intercourse, and in quite large amounts. Went to o&g to get it checked and found a polyp. It’s a benign growth that can bleed when irritated. I was hoping it’d go away on its own but nope still there.. Was told to stop intercourse entirely but we’re newly married, and i felt so bad for my poor husband.
I’ve had light spotting on 3 occasions over my past 20 weeks of pregnancy - through external stimulation and non-penetrative intimacy! Even having non-penetrative orgasms can cause a polyp to bleed. Concluded that there’ll be no more sexy time for me until i deliver :(
The spotting will last for a day from bright red to brown, and stop the next day. When it bleeds, I know it’s the polyp bleeding but i can’t help but worry every time i wipe and there’s blood. All 3 occasions i went to o&g in panic, but thankfully cervix is closed and baby is ok.
The impact this tiny polyp has on a couple’s intimacy and marriage is not something that’s discussed much or easy to find online.. especially in sg. So i just wanted to share my situation.. it’s not easy but thankfully we have found ways to cope as a couple. If you’re in a similar situation/ need to rant, feel free to reply to this post :) take care mummies!!

I’m at 21 weeks now, and my MIL insisted that i take cordyceps for my baby’s immunity, but I kinda worry as my pregnancy is not as smooth as others. I had 2 bleeding so far, luckily baby is fine. Basically I’m kinda scared of taking chinese meds 😅 Any mummy can advise please? Thank you!

- 2021-07-24Hello. Anyone has had their 10 month old child go through pre event testing? It is for an important event for my family and I would love to bring along my child. However I want to know if it will be easy as digging her nose or will the test kit be inserted a little more deeply in the nose? Will the baby cry like going through the pain of an injection? Thanks in advance
- 2021-07-24Every week i get to hear this, “wow baby can recognized mama alr, wow baby smile to mama alr, wow baby really can start recognizing own mother leh!!” All this remarks by my mil. Other than that, mil will asked me to open my arm out to baby to test if baby only want mummy to carry hug hug.. how do you expect a 6 months baby to be able to do so??
To be honest, I have been taking care of my baby since day 1 birth and why is it so surprised for own child to be able to recognize own mother? Unless I seldom take care of my baby?? I dont know.. I just feel slightly triggered and annoyed by such remarks repeatedly mentioned every week when she came over. I dont know what kind of mentality is she having?
