Pre event testing

Hello. Anyone has had their 10 month old child go through pre event testing? It is for an important event for my family and I would love to bring along my child. However I want to know if it will be easy as digging her nose or will the test kit be inserted a little more deeply in the nose? Will the baby cry like going through the pain of an injection? Thanks in advance

Hey Mama, Pre event testing will use the ART test which is different from the usual PCR test when you go to a GP with flu symptoms. The ART test doesn’t go as deep as the PCR test and is not as uncomfortable. It only goes 2cm into the nostril. My LO will be going through it to attend a family member’s wedding next month. 😊

My baby went for a swab test (for health reason) and she cry badly during the swab. But after that ok already . I would personally only let her do it IF there’s medical need. For event, I will skip it. Wouldn’t want my baby to go thru such pain

It is quite deep into the nose so I think your baby confirm will cry... not sure if the person performing the test will be “experienced” enough to do it for a baby who has weaker / softer bones. Personally I would rather not...

I will skip for my baby's sake. I took the swab test and it's very uncomfortable what more a baby. Will surely cry. Even my 12 yr old daughter cried during the swab test.
