- 2023-09-11Is it normal for not the boob but the nipple itself to feel pain ? Like a random pain everynow and then, specifically on one side more than the other. But not intense pain. Just normal pain.

- 2023-09-11Im preparing myself for post delivery. Heard that milk will come in slowly and will start off very little amd sometimes supply will stay low (ofc depends on individual body). If my milk ckmes in very little, if after latching baby and baby is still hungry, how do i know how many ml should i give him? Especially newborn. Do i just make like 60ml first then see he drinks until which ml?

- 2023-09-11Hi mommies, does induced labor affect when our milk comes in ? Like will our milk come in later than if natural labor? Or theres no such thing
#FTM
- 2023-09-11Im already scared enough of being induced this week(due to no labor sign @39w) really hoping will still end up with natural delivery instead of csect.
And my MIL’s mouth just doesnt help. I am petite with a small - average body frame, altho my baby bump is big. She told me if i have smaller hip/body, will be harder for me to give birth vaginally?
Is it true ? Any petite mummies able to birth vaginally without issue ?

- 2023-09-11Hi hi i will be delivering soon, and so scared it might end up with ecsection. However, i also do want to prepare myself in the event i will end up needing to do it.
I have zero tolerance for pain.
Can experienced mummies let me know hows your recovery, and was it long and very painful? Any tips and advise for recovering from csec? As im a ftm.
How many weeks after did you start your postnatal massage ?

- 2023-09-11Hi! Confused first time mum here 😳
Im at 39+2 weeks. My cervix is dilated 1-2cm on last Friday’s appt. My mucus plug came out on Saturday morning and I started having dull crampy ache on my lower pelvis to vagina area since Sat night. Last night I was woken up by cramps over my tummy area lasting about 1min and I felt like shitting. I managed to go back to sleep after and I felt it again when I woke up at 8am this morning. Is this the start of labour contractions? Or just braxton hicks? The cramps doesn’t feel painful but more of uncomfortable, like tightening and hardening at right side then radiates to the whole tummy.
Do I continue to monitor or should I go to the hospital?

- 2023-09-11Please share your newborn schedule for shower and tummy time?
She is always cranky whenever we shower her, though we have waited one hour after feeding.
Is it best to wake her up one hour before meal time and do the shower and tummy time?
When the confinement nanny was with us she seems ok whether it is before or after feeding🥲#advicepls
Bb is 1 month old
- 2023-09-11Does everyone have to lost their mucus plug or have a bloody show before the contraction/early labor starts ?
Or some people doesnt lost mucus plug or have bloody show bt got contraction and gave birth afterwards?

- 2023-09-11Im currently 39 + 1 weeks but since 38 weeks ive been having moderate period cramp and lower back pain every day. Last about a few mins. But its at an inconsistent timing. Sometimes only once during that day, sometimes in the morning and at night. Sometimes only in the morning. And my stomach will tighten whenever i feel it. Sometimes the feeling wanting to poop but no poop come out.
But last check at 38/4 i have yet to dilate.
Is it still braxton hicks ? Or might be early contraction but nothing to be done since its inconsistent.

- 2023-09-11Hi mummies, any 8th months old are still afraid to venture out. For example, they’ll still cling on you and is too afraid to enjoy the situation/environment? Even with people and places. Its like they are an introvert when we’re outside but when at home they’re very extrovert.
Even when the people around them are not touching/playing with them, but upon looking at any person from a distance they’ll cry out of nowhere?
Will they grow out of this or should I be concern?

- 2023-09-11hi, first time mom here. my baby just turned 1 month old. my confinement nanny has been feeding him full feeds whenever he fusses even when the interval is really short.
for example he just drank 100ml at 1030, then did a big poop and is asking for milk again at 1130. she says its ok to give him again because his tummy is empty after the poop.
is this ok? i'm worried about overfeeding him.
- 2023-09-11Baby is just pass 1 month old. Confinement nanny has left and i do not have additional help (no relatives available and due to space and finances, unable to hire FDW). Husband works in office and mainly cares for elder child after work. Feeling overwhelmed as baby usually not willing to latch on as my supply is low. On average i need 3 pump sessions to get enough for baby's 1 feed.
1) Should i just stop attempting to breastfeed/pump?
2) Any suggestions for hiring help other than FWD and those who charge by the hr?
- 2023-09-11Tummy time is after or before feeding?
And what is the gap (how many mins) before or after feeding?
I read online to do after feeding.
But then lets say baby wake up 1pm to eat then eat+burp one hour so it is 2pm.
Then after feeding my bb always want to sleep😂 so no chance to do tummy time.
If i am in luck i can do it after her shower only.
- 2023-09-11When did u start remove mitten for LO?

- 2023-09-11Hi, I am week 8. Not sure why but since a few days ago, I started to get hungry very easily. Need to eat like every 2-3hrs. Is it normal?
- 2023-09-11Hell mummies! What is your recommended diapers for newborn? The one that can be bought here in SG. Thank u!
- 2023-09-11My baby fell asleep many times during feeding. Sometimes she don't wake up even burp her or shake her gently to wake her up.
In the end, I have to pour away the milk and it's such a wastage.
If I don't feed her, she will cry. But I admit sometimes I can't tell if she is hungry or just cranky and want to sleep.
What should I do? Is this normal?#pleasehelp #FTM

- 2023-09-11Hello all! I've heard from a few mummies that nowadays freelance confinement nannies require MOM temp pass and even health insurance? Is this the case? For advice please! With the CNY surchange and all. Having to pay levy and health insurance seems so much more expensive 😵 from my understanding if engaging from an agency then the agency will handle all these nitty gritty stuff.
- 2023-09-11Hello Mummies & Mummies to be,

- 2023-09-12Really enough of her. Everytime want to win over an argument, with every one in the household. Everytime when my hub and I talk to her about the little one out, after we back home. We will talk things like how long he taken his nap or how much he eaten. Or next day he poop alot or not. When we mention he didn't poop, how frequent per day or how much. She will said you all starve him is it? Or he eat not enough? You didn't let him sleep? Everytime all this repeat after every dayout. Don't know if little one is her son or mine. Especially when back from my mum's place she will doubt he if he eat enough or not...even ask if my mum's is it cook less for him...and also said I always cook very less I straight away tell her since when, told her the amount of porridge pour to the bowl that we always use to feed is almost full. Keep saying we starve him.Even my hub also said the amount is almost the same as how his mom cook.
- 2023-09-12Hi mummies, which brand of facial cream did you use for your newborn ?

- 2023-09-12Hi mummies! I accepted a job offer and then found out I was pregnant. Currently at 9weeks now and trying to keep this a secret till my probation ends in early November. I was planning to let my boss know of my pregnancy after I've been confirmed (or maybe a month after confirmation). My worry is that I might be terminated when they get informed. I know it's kinda illegal to terminate pregnant employees, but do workplaces secretly practice this as well? I don't want to lose my job as the pay during maternity leave would really help a lot 😢
- 2023-09-12After washing pacifier with soap, there is a little water stuck inside the pacifier, how do i get rid of it ?
Ive tried drying and uv sterilise it but still theres little water inside. Scared theres leftover soap water and baby will consume it and it will harm baby.
Ive tried to press the water out very hard and even vigorously shake the pacifier still cannot come out. Any tips ? Or just let it be ?
Specifically using Nuk Silicone Soother.

I’m currently at 35 weeks. Can’t seem to eat normal portion of food, a few bites and I’m done. But lately I’ve been waking up early mornings and being super hungry. Would you recommend to sleep it off or have a light snack? If so, any light snacks to recommend for easy grabs? Thank you

- 2023-09-12Is it normal to feel extremely scared of giving birth to the point you’ll randomly cry?
This is my first pregnancy and Ill be induced and giving birth in few days time. Im really hoping for a natural delivery and not e-csect😣 and can’t shake off the feeling of extreme fear and anxiety. I dont know what will happen, how my body will handle the pain and how im going to endure the pain as i have zero pain tolerance.
Ill sometimes randomly cry before bed.
I feel like counting down the days to giving birth is like the feeling of counting down the days to being hanged in prison.
I know i should be happy and excited for baby to come but im just scared.
- 2023-09-12Ill be induced in few days’ time and this is my first pregnancy. Last check was not dilated.
Can mummies share your success stories of delivering naturally/vaginally after being induced, and not dilated before induction. And how long was the labor so i can prepare myself mentally altho i know that diff body reacts differently.
Will it have higher chance of ending up in ecsection?

- 2023-09-12How many times a day u shower your baby? And what time?
- 2023-09-12Hi. Did a transvaginal scan at 7+ weeks and saw small foetus and flickering heartbeat, although abdominal scan didn't show any foetus. Today at 9+ weeks did abdominal scan saw that sac and yolk grew much bigger but no foetus. SGH gynae said it's a miscarriage and was given the usual two options DC or pill, but we chose to wait till next week then decide, and also going to a private gynae on Thur to scan and confirm. Pregnancy symptoms decreased a couple of days ago. Hubby and I are devastated. Been through 3 IVF rounds, it's exhausting financially and emotionally draining. How to comfort myself and hubby..

- 2023-09-13As i was not dilated in my previous appointment at 38+4, gynae decided to induce me on my due date. After that appointment i would force myself to go for atleast 45 mins - 1hr walk everyday. And it’s been a week and i feel like its not working as my due date is just in few days time still no sign of labor at all.
I feel like stopping with the walks and just get as much rest as i can before baby comes instead. And just continue eating dates and doing some squats at home. I feel like im forcing myself and my body too much with the walk and kind of have a mindset if baby still doesnt want to come out, nothing will work.
Im on HL anyway, so i wont be going out on weekdays and mostly stay at home.
Am i making a wise decision by not gg for a walk, will that greatly affect me not being able to dilate when induced ? Any mummies managed to still deliver naturally without gg for walks.

- 2023-09-13Anyone did Brazilian waxing or sugaring few days before edd ? Hows the pain level?
I have scheduled Brazilian sugaring at my usual place 3 days before edd/being induced and am a little scared of the pain level. Ive been doing it since pre-pregnancy and during 2nd trim onwards and realised after 6/7 months onwards, the pain level has doubled 🥵 Most prob due to extra sensitive skin and the skin around it has swelled abit.

- 2023-09-13Currently staying @ in law’s and its just getting way too annoying MIL keep telling me i should be doing this i should be doing that be it during pregnant or after given birth. She expect me to do whatever she did when she was pregnant & given birth. It’s so annoying. Her days are long gone and some people need to really stop expecting the newer generation or us, to do whatever they did in the olden days. To them everything they did is correct and everything we do is wrong just because they have lived longer and brought up more children 🙄
My parents never even say anything but she’s always the one exaggerating. She even say itll be harder for me to give birth vaginally just cause im petite and skinny. Im 1.56cm & weighed 50kg before pregnancy i believe thats average.
I can foresee my postpartum ill be more depressed because of her than the baby itself. And also she like to tell me to do stupid stuff like oh thats what the people in the olden days did. And i should be doing it. Like when bathing on the day im gg to hospital to give birth i should suck the end of my hair. Like wtf? I should eat 1 tablespoon of oil so baby will slit out smoothly. I should unlock all locks in my room. And keep saying i should drink coconut water so baby will be clean when birthed. So what if baby is dirty? The baby literally lived inside me for months ofcourse when it first come out itll not be as clean. And die die keep saying i should get a masseuse for my baby to hot compress my baby boy’s ball sack.
Man this is getting way too annoying and ofcourse oldies being oldies they will never want to hear what we want to say. I did tell my husband all these and he just told me to ignore cause he also dont believe all these.
Malay mums and their stupid beliefs.

- 2023-09-13Hi beautiful mummies! Just wondering if any muslim mummies have delivered at Mount A, and if you managed to request to have the crucifix removed during your stay?
Nothing against it, but my husband is abit reserved about it. We decided to deliver at Mount A because my gynae is there and if we were to deliver at another hospital, it would incur additional cost.
- 2023-09-13Hi mummies, i read alot of mummies only shower their baby in the morning and wipe down in the evening.

- 2023-09-13Anyone dont have a sink in their toilet ? How do i wash baby’s bottom after poo if i dont have a sink in my toilet, when theyre newborn? Do i just use shower head and squat down on the floor as i scared if stand while holding baby, will be slippery and baby will fall of hand
- 2023-09-13Anyone drinks coconut water during pregnancy so baby will come out “clean”? Im annoyed at how my MIL keep asking me pushing me to drink coconut water so baby will come out clean lol so what if baby comes out dirty? Baby is literally inside me for 9/10 months what do you expect.
Old people and their beliefs
- 2023-09-13How do you tell people not to kiss your baby, esp when theyre newborn.
Especially for old people who dont take no for an answer and will think we’re being rude. Im planning to not let anyone kiss my baby, be it grandparents, in laws etc, except for me & husband.
And do you let guest hold your newborn or pass around?
I just want to protect my baby and set boundaries but you know old people 🙄 very hard to explain theyre always right and some would even go against it and just do it

- 2023-09-13I’m currently 12+2. I suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum with severe vomiting since I’m 5 weeks. I’ve been in and out the hospital for my condition and I can stay up to 1 week in hospital.
Until now, my nausea n vomiting are still very bad. And I’m Im feeling super sick and weak. I cried many times and don’t know how to continue with my pregnancy. I feel so depressed. I feel there’s no one can understand what I’m going through and how bad I feel. Even my husband. I cried many times in front of him and telling him I’m depressed, I want to give up. He ask me not to. But nothing else was done. Although he brought me in and out of the hospital, I don’t feel him there for me when I need someone. He may be too used to my vomiting. Whenever I vomit, he will never come to me to pat on me or ask if I need any help. If I vomit in front of him, I can see his expression feeling gross or disgusted. There’s many times where I vomit so badly till I choked and I can’t even breathe. No one was there. Be it I’m in the toilet or I’m just vomiting beside him, he will ignore and do his own things. All he will say is if I can’t take it, just go hospital. Just now when I was vomiting so badly beside him, he did not came to offer any help. Not even passing me a tissue. He simply walk pass me and bring my son to the room and sleep together leaving me behind in the living room. I really don’t know how to continue. I’m all alone. I really feel like giving up. Can’t take it anymore.

- 2023-09-14Hi mummies 👋 my breasts were anthills pre-pregnancy, so I am very used to sleeping without my bra. Am 10 weeks in right now and my breasts have grown quite well. I've been waking up with sore breasts each morning. Does wearing a bra during sleep help to reduce the soreness/discomfort? If so, what kind of bras do I need? Or is it normal to be feeling this kind of soreness? New to big boobs, so do advise. Thanks!

- 2023-09-14My baby is exactly a month old and we have been going to polyclinic for weekly check ups. The levels were dropping each visit but this time when we went, the level increased. I’ve been feeding BM in the day and FM at night as recommended by my PD previously. Anyone encountered this before? The level is around 140+ now and polyclinic referred us to KKH to do an ultrasound for his liver. Should I be worried or is this normal?

- 2023-09-14Hi everyone, I've been on a lookout for CN and can't seem to decide on one. The private hire CN seems to be more experienced and at least I talked to her before, but I am worried as my pregnancy is considered high risk and I'm not sure if she'd be available if I were to deliver earlier.. that being said I'm also unsure of insurance and levy costs...private nanny need to pay for these? I only know abt these things from quotation from agency... currently considering CA or PEM... any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated... thank you...
- 2023-09-14I’m starting to get more and more annoyed by my husband behaviour. I get it. He earns more and support our family but he always choose to leave us alone and go and do his stuff.. whereas I have to be the one watching the baby and can only do my things AFTER baby sleep
He’s already tired from work and he choose to go running. Then when he’s back, he fall asleep INSTANTLY. So I have to be the one who puts baby to sleep, do housework, clean baby bottles, pack his infant care bag and lastly shower before I can even go to bed. And in the middle of the night, when baby wakes up for milk. HE DOESNT HEAR HIS CRY AT ALL!!! Thus, I am the one who has to wake up and feed baby. Im not a stay home Mum. I still have work the next morning. Many times, I’ve ask him to watch over baby while I go shower or do housework, he walked away leaving baby alone in the living room and go meddle with his watch or simply sit far away playing with his phone.
Sometimes I really wonder is my kid alone or our kid.
He’s the one who craves for a kid and when the kid is here, his behaviour says otherwise. I seriously think it’s bcos he’s a baby boy and not baby girl.
Which sets me thinking if baby girl, would he be like this??
- 2023-09-14my LO neck was dry with skin peeling off and sometime itchy. Had applied fungus cream prescribed my doc but still not yet recover and getting worst. Any mummy here can advise how to treat.
- 2023-09-14Hi mommies,
My 21 months old boy currently have difficulty to swallow rice or other solid,
He mostly eat porridge and drink milk.
He likes to eat bread but need to give him in small bites.
If bigger bites he will show sign of vomiting.
I read that every child development is different, but I see all of his friends can eat and swallow meals well, even toddlers who are smaller than him.
Should I consult PD or nutrition doctor? or this is not something to be worried about?
He is still using pacifier, is this something that affected his swallowing of foods? I see his teeth development is also slow :(
Very worried, hope mommies can advice me,
Thank you

- 2023-09-14Anyone had experience with very high NT score?
I am currently at 13 weeks and my FTS at KKH flagged out that my baby has an abnormally high NT at 5.5. NIPT listed us as Lowrisk for DS but we were still thrown many scary statistics and possibilities for other abnormalities.
Currently scheduled for amniocentesis at 16 was and detailed cardiac scan.
May I know if anyone had experience with such high NT before?

- 2023-09-15My son is 7m. We have started to give him solid when he turned 6m. He is interested in eating but when he has tasted food, he doesn’t seem to want to continue to eat. I’ve tried giving him carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli, potatoes etc but he doesn’t like any of it. When I offer him Cerelac Nestum, he seems to be more interested in that. Which I’m not a fan of always giving him Cerelac cos I was him to eat “real” food. Is this normal for babies who just started eating solid? How can I make my son love eating?

- 2023-09-15This is a ranting post, I have no idea where to rant i hope mummies can bear with me. I was in a library minding my own business and was reading a book. An auntie sitting beside me was sleeping and i did not make any noise to disturb her. She woke up few mins ltr and started listening to music and watching shows on her phone without earpiece. (Ok nvm) 5mins later she suddenly talking to herself in Mandarin "don't you think you are selfish, u r pregnant and yet you still come out make everyone your slave" HUH? And she added "hope you have a difficult delivery and die on the bed, just go and die" she kept repeating this. I thought she was angry with the actress in the show she was watching. I took off my earpiece and listen properly again. Wtf she was legit referring to me! She is definitely crazy and unsound. She keep telling me that I'm selfish, make everyone in the library my slaves and i should die on the bed by difficulty in delivering my baby. I am very pantang to this kind of cursing esp now im about to give birth soon. Yet i have no idea how should i confront her. Her curse is hindering me alot, what if something rly happen to me at the time of deliver? #firsttimemom #advicepls #firsttimemom #pleasehelp
- 2023-09-15I am 25 this yr and currently in my 12th week. Went for scan at 10th week, gynae asked if I want to do the NIPT test. I am still considering and will be returning to the gynae on my 15th week.

- 2023-09-15Hi mommies, at which age did you send your baby to Infant Care ? And how are they coping during the first few weeks ? For a start how often did you send them a week? And usually what do we need to bring in their bag.
Ill be delivering this month, an IFC just called me about an available slot, however its one month before my intended registration month. cause the centre told me they dont have slot for early next year, only end of this year. And so far no other centre have called me. Its also a month before my work resumes, however baby would only be 2 months plus and im feeling a little guilty that ill be sending him so early age to somewhere foreign altho my maternity will only end a month later.
Any mommies going thru the same and how was it ?
Im scared if i give this a miss, itll be harder to get slot anywhere else and itll be a problem once i start work.

- 2023-09-16My daughter is turning 1 tomorrow. Over the last 2 weeks, idk if I should say decrease appetite. Usually during mealtimes she eats a certain amount of food. But lately she eats less during mealtimes but snacks more in between. Snacks will be her biscuits/puffs or fruits. Her milk intake is still like usual, 200-220ml every 4-5 hours. Is that normal for appetite to change? Will her appetite return like normal? Generally she's not a picky eater. She just eats more frequent in smaller portions.
- 2023-09-16My girl is turning 1 tomorrow. Any babies here sharing the same birthday? ☺️ I feel so emotional. I'm happy she's growing well but sad that she's growing up. - 2023-09-16I have difficulty sleeping at night. I am currently in Week 8, had previously taken TCM meds which helped before my first gynae visit before 8 weeks but decided to stop it to avoid complications.
Tried sleeping on my left side but it gets so hot that I have to eventually turn to my back but I get woken up few times just to either go toilet or cause I feel a slight strain in my lower back. I don’t sleep with the aircon on cause previously not recommended by TCM. Anyone experience the same symptoms this early?
I don’t feel tired during the day, but just can’t seem to sleep all the way at night undisturbed.
- 2023-09-16I’m a bit worried about my baby’s vision as he doesn’t turn his head to the sounds (he hears the sounds for sure because he sometimes gets scared by loud sounds) and he doesn’t look at you at all when you speak to him. Is it ok for 1 month baby?
- 2023-09-16I saw afew pen-ink size, fresh red spotting blood when I wipe after pee yesterday. After that I have mild cramps on both front and back. I’m currently 14 w 5d. Because we are driving up to Malaysia on Sunday to visit my in-laws, I was a little worried. Went to the Urgent O&G at KKH. Just sharing my experience here.
I got subsidised rate because I’m currently a subsidised pregnant patient at kkh as well. There are only 2-3 doctors on duty on a Friday evening so the wait is quite long. Pharmacy queue was also very long. Almost an hr.
Told doctor I have been seeing tissue-like discharge after I pee sometimes. But the spotting was one-off. Didn’t happen again. And the cramp got milder and milder. Doc took a sample of my discharge to test (result just came back today as negative for infection). And she saw a 0.5mm polyp on the outside of vagina which she says could have been the cause of the spotting. But because I’m going away on Sunday, she prescribed me progesterone to support the pregnancy, and antibiotics for any infection just in case. I have my regular appointment 10 days later so they will review if progesterone is still necessary then. But at least during the ultrasound, baby was super active, climbing like a Spider-Man my hubby says. And heart rate is very good.
did have a slightly medium risk for trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) which then the doc say if it’s an unhealthy pregnancy, the body may eject the baby thru a miscarriage. And if that happens, not even progesterone helps. So I’m really praying baby is ok. I would rather be overreacting and over thinking in this case. Just as long as baby is safe, especially during this 5 days when we are in Malaysia. 🙏🏻
- 2023-09-16Hello to all mummies.
I am into the 7th week and experiencing headaches and nauseous almost on a daily basis. In addition, I am suffering from very bad constipation.
For my headaches and nauseous,
OB did prescribe me paracetamol and nauseous medication. I don't feel good taking them regularly, though. Any recommendation to ease them?
As for my constipation, I was given Dulphalac. However, it doesn't work. So later on, I was prescribed bisacodyl (laxative stimulant). Is it safe to consume bisacodyl?
Thanks in advance :)

- 2023-09-16Due to the risk of salmonella infections, children under age 5 should not eat undercooked eggs. Runny yolks (meaning the yolk is not solid) may not be safe enough. This is because toddlers and babies are at greater risk for salmonella-caused illness.24 Feb 2022

- 2023-09-16I just found out I'm pregnant and am currently in Japan on a holiday. Seems like i cannot just use any skincare products/supplements when pregnant due to certain ingredients that are not safe for pregnancy. Any recommendations of good pregnancy safe skincare/supplements i can get in Japan?#advicepls #firsttimemom
