- 2021-07-26Hi mummies! I'm at 17 weeks pregnant and i've been having this itchyness on my legs and at times body for the past 1 week. The itchyness is on and off everytime i sweat. After bathing and on the aircon, i'll feel better. The itchyness will come again the moment i start sweating if off the aircon. Should i be concern? I'm worried anything may affect the baby. My next appointment will be in 3 weeks time. Financially tight so thought should wait till next appointment to see gynae. What do you mummies think? Should i be worried? Till today i still have yet to feel baby movements.

- 2021-07-26Currently I am 29 weeks. Ob-gyn mentioned that baby is huge - 1.8kg. Is this a source of concern? I do not have any gestational diabetes and results came out great.

- 2021-07-26Dear mums. Do you mind sharing your pumping frequency, and your daily yield? TIA.
- 2021-07-26Felt abit sad, jealous and disappointed. My baby was just born 3 weeks ago and pregnancy wasn't easy for me either due to various complications. Gynae also warned about a second pregnancy. Mother in law was very nice to agree to take care of the baby for 4 months but since the first day I realised that I wasn't allowed any together time with my baby at all. I wanted to change his diaper but she will fight to do it. I wanted to breastfeed but she will keep asking me to pump my milk and let her feed or she will just go to the kitchen and give the baby milk powder. I have been telling her so many times and even explained to my husband at least let me breastfeed for the first month so that I can get some time alone with my baby because I don't even get to see him at all, your mom is basically doing all the chores for the baby including taking care of him at night & I only get to see the baby when he's sleeping. ended up my husband still asked me the same question again every time if can breast pump or feed baby milk powder. i literally broke down and cried.
I know I should be thankful that someone is willing to help out throughout my maternity leave to take care of my baby's welfare and household chores. But neither do I wanted to not be able to spend any time with the baby at all. The feeling is so weird,it's like the baby was hers and not mine anymore..
Its getting stressful for me, not sure how I could make myself feel better anymore..

- 2021-07-26Hi mommies
I have a 4 month old baby who suddenly refuses formula. I mostly gave him breast milk through a bottle during day time, and formula twice at 2am and 5am or when my BM supply suddenly went low.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? What should I do?
He feeds 90ml and there are times I only managed to express around 60ml.
He can latch but that only takes 5mins and he’s done. Help please 😭
- 2021-07-26Hi everyone,
wondering anybody facing same issue and how u deal with it?
My husband is very supportive of whichever decision I made eventually. I am thinking of spending more quality time with my child probably till at least they are settled down till in playgroup or K2. While I know in current context, having additional income will be able to provide more for my child such as enrichment/activities.
In terms of financial wise, we have no major issues and is living comfortably. My concern is it worth to sacrifice career over quality time as afraid by then I may lose touch with society/job knowledge. Secondly, I will also lose out on the working mother subsidy if I were to sent them to childcare.
Please advice how to deal with this thought 🙁#1stimemom #advicepls

- 2021-07-27Hi mummies, on my 39th week check up my gynae had to insert her finger in me to check for dilation. This is something ive always been uncomfortable with, its just my natural reflex to tense up and gynae wasnt able to check at all. - 2021-07-27Anybody has experience with being a subsidised and private patient at NUH before?
I just changed to private and realised that they are
more rushing compared to subsidised clinic.
the nurse seemed very rush when explaining the package to me , and the doctor had very limited things to say and didn’t really ask questions to find out how I am doing.
I think i lasted less than a minute in the doctor’s room.
I even had to take my blood pressure by myself!
the first time i was there I was very lost. nobody showed me the room that i had to go to i had to figure it out myself.
when i was a subsidised patient the nurses did everything for me.
and they spoke to me very calmly and asked about my well being etc .
they showed me where to wait, they settled my blood pressure for me etc.
im just wondering if this is the kind of service i should be expecting when we pay so much more?
do any mommies feel this way? 🤣

- 2021-07-27I am currently under subsidised route with NUH. And have decided to go to private gynae and deliver at a private hospital (MEHN). I met my private gynae at 24 week and she kindly allowed me to have my glucose test with NUH at week 26 as scheduled earlier and report back to her with the results at week 30.
My question is, if i want to stop entirely attending NUH appts, do i have to tell someone frm NUH or just start ignoring their upcoming appointments?
Or do I need to officially inform NUH and make them transfer my docs to my pvt gynae in MEHN?
P/S: So far i am able to produce docs / whatever results i have frm NUH to my pvt gynae, they are already in NUH app or docs alr in my hands.

- 2021-07-27I fed my girl breast milk till she was 9 months old when I had to go for an important overseas work trip. So I had no choice but to give her formula milk. But till today she’s still drinking formula milk.
My girl typically drinks 2-3 bottle of milk a day on top of her lunch and dinner.
I did saw a few articles online saying that we shouldn’t be giving our child formula milk by 12 months of age. Personally I feel that milk gives my girl extra calcium so no harm giving it to her. Furthermore, it does not affect her normal meals and she’s within the acceptable weight for her age. But I will probably start weaning my girl off formula milk and onto diary milk soon.
Share with me your thoughts on giving your child formula milk.

- 2021-07-27I’m the main parent to take care of my newborn and as she doesn’t latch, i’ve to exclusively pump for her. Been going on for months and honestly it’s physically n mentally tiring. Sometimes when she’s being cranky and needs my attention, I missed or delayed my pump session and that causes leaking breasts and pain. I can only quickly pump out the milk as soon as I’m able to settle the baby. I’m so tired of leaking breasts and all the washing that is accompanied with the pump. Sometimes I have this strong urge to switch the baby to formula instead then i will also have more time for her without the pumping schedules n washing regime.
I’ll like to know if working mummies are still keeping to the 3hrly pumping routine? How to juggle pumping n your rest time especially when u r returning to work?#pleasehelp

- 2021-07-27Hello! Any parents using Joie Muze LX travel system stroller? What’s your feedback or what have you heard about the stroller? Will you recommend?
- 2021-07-28Hi mommies, i feed bm to my baby until 4.5mths old then switch to full formula (bellamys organic step 1) up to 6mths old, i also started to fed her rice cereal when she was 5.5mths old and her poop was always ok. Recently she turned 6mths old, i still feed (and infant care also) rice cereal once a day (increased amount) and changed her formula to bellamys organic step 2. I fed her plain water as well but she doesnt like to drink, so only manage to feed her 20-30ml per day. Her poop start to bcome super hard, everyday she will cry for very long when pooping and only small lump came out but stuck at her butthole. My heart is broken seeing her suffer like this.
Any mommy experience this? Should i stop cereal? Or should i change formula instead? #advicepls #pleasehelp #1stimemom

- 2021-07-28Hi mummies, I’ve kept up with a growing stock of breast milk in my freezer that is 10 days ago. What I’ve been doing is continue with my current pump and freezing my newly pumped milk while feeding my baby the older batch of frozen milk. Is this okay or i should always give freshly expressed milk?
Another thing is by freezing the milk means I’ve to get alot of storage bags which are not so environmental friendly and costly… plus they take up fridge space. Advice or comments??
Ps: I’m not latching my baby yet as she doesn’t like it.

- 2021-07-28I started potty training my girl when she’s 2 years old and she was diapers free by 3 years old which was just in time for her nursery. At the start it’s sure difficult to get her to inform you when she needs to go to the toilet so be prepared for sudden attacks from your child. It’s handy to have the potty near your child during the initial stage of the potty training.
It’s okay if your child is not ready to be potty trained, take it slow. Do note that if they resists using the potty chair or isn’t getting the hang of it within a few weeks, take a break. It would be good to use a mattress cover when your child is taking a nap or sleeping during potty training period. You won’t want to wet the bed, cause it’s lots of work to clean it.
There’s no particulars tips or tricks for me, you just have to be very patience with your child during the potty training period.
Let me know if you have any tips or tricks for potty training. Or share with me the most epic experience you had during your child’s potty training.

- 2021-07-29I recently became a single parent and it's been really tough. I'm working a FT job and PT studies, my family is unable to help me as they've work too. And hiring help is not an option as I don't earn much, my pay is enough to cover bb and I insurance and necessities.

- 2021-07-29Hi Mummies . I'm 36weeks pregnant . Indeed in pain on my lower abdomen . No waterbag burst , no leakage , no bleeding , baby's head facing downwards and keep on putting pressure which absolutely makes me uncomfortable . 2cm dilated . But doctor say it's normal to dilate and don't have to worry because it's my third child . But everytime I goes to the toilet to urine/pooping , baby's head keeps on putting more pressure down . And the urge of pooping is just all the time .

- 2021-07-29Hi ladies,
I’m a pte patient at KKH and have been diagnosed with a blighted ovum at week 9. Since a gestational sac was seen at week 6, it has always shown to be empty till now.
I’m considering going to private gynae to get the medications to induce miscarriage instead of waiting to go back to KKH. The super long waiting time/repeated visits have been extra stressful. Any recommendations on a gynae to manage this? Hope to ttc soon after this episode.
TIA!

- 2021-07-29Feeling quite low after knowing that my colleagues met a COVID-19 patient during our split-team shift. Because of the interaction, MOH has taken my details (pending next course of action). Hopefully everything turns out positively.
As a frontline worker, the worst case scenario would be that I contacted COVID-19. Both wife and I have vaccinated, so not too concerned about us getting COVID-19, but I am definitely worried about the elder folks at our home and the ongoing pregnancy at the 10th week (not sure how COVID will affect pregnancy).
Just finding an avenue to vent out the worry I have for wifey's pregnancy (this 10 weeks has not been easy for her). Also trying to find support from front-line dads and moms who have faced or might be facing similar situations.

- 2021-07-29Hi all, #pleasehelp #advicepls
I recently gave birth to my third child. Been going back and forth to poly for her jaundice. It’s definitely gone down over the weeks just that it’s a little slow. Last check by blood test yesterday was 162. Two weeks ago it was 216 by skin test. I skipped going for awhile because of other commitments so only followed up yesterday and baby was at 26 days.
Based on the results, the doctor said will need to come back tomorrow to do 2 blood tests. Jaundice and liver test, to check if its a liver problem.
She’s basically doing good. Feeding, peeing and pooping well. Apart from her jaundice, I don’t find any other symptoms relating to liver problem.
I’m just feeling so distraught right now because the doctor mentioned having to go to hospital for further testing etc. which is so heartbreaking because, who loves to see their baby gets poked for blood so many times right?
I would really love to hear if anyone has any similar experiences whereby it wasn’t liver issues but just prolonged jaundice? I am fully feeding breastmilk by bottle so I can monitor how much she drinks. I would only continue direct latching once we clear her jaundice. I need assurances because I got so emotional to hear of the possibility that my child could have liver problems and would need to undergo surgery.
Btw I have tried traditional methods like suntanning, yellow flower bath etc. and still doing so till date.
Appreciate any responses!
- 2021-07-29Here are some tips when trying to potty train your little ones! Do share some of yours!
1. Make sure you child is ready. Try not to rush the process and watch out for signs of readiness.
2. Get your child involved in picking a potty or toilet seat.
3. Buy your child some big kid underwear, you’re going to need plenty for accidents.
4. Put the potty in an easily accessible spot
5. Get on a schedule. Offer the potty frequently and at certain times like before and after naps and meals.
6. Lots of praise! Your child needs encouragement and affirmation too!

- 2021-07-29I do not give my girl any mobile/electronic games, fearing that she might be addicted to it. And indeed on one occasion, when she was exposure to a Disney related mobile game for a very short period of time. - 2021-07-30Personally I feel that communication is very important with children. Often to be said that we might skip the part to explain to our child on certain thing cause we feel that they are too young to understand. But actually they are very smart and they will know and remember what have happened. So take some time explain to them in simple terms whenever the ask about something. Cause they might not understand what is it but they will remember what you say.
Share with me one of your experience when you are shock by your child’s memory.

- 2021-07-31So as the title says, cartoons and YouTube. And this could probably be the best creation for all parents. But it also do have its cons for it. My child have been exposure to cartoon probably when she’s 2 years old when she starts her solid food. I first introduce it to her to calm her down during meal time. And now she can now search for videos by herself on YouTube and keep herself occupied.
She doesn’t really watch cartoon all the time as she stills play with her toy most of her free time.
But the cons I have experience with her watching cartoon is if she watch it during meal time she will take longer to complete her meal. Do also take note to not let your child get too close to the device while they are watching the video. Cause you don’t want to spoil their eyes.
Are your child being expose to cartoons/videos? What are your thoughts on this? Share with me.

- 2021-07-31Hello! Wondering if any parents here have tried shipping overseas purchases back to SG using vPost (https://vpost.com/sg/)? I am recently busy with decorating my nursery and many items on Alibaba caught my eyes but it's so difficult to coordinate with the sellers about shipping. vPost seems to be quite convenient (and it's in english) but i haven't used it before. Any feedback good or bad is welcome! Also, what kinds of items have you shipped before and how much did it cost you?

- 2021-07-31Hello mummies. My baby is 12 weeks old. About a week ago, I noticed that my LO scalp is dry and flaky. Its not cradle cap. It looks like dandruff to me as it is white in colour. It covers the whole top part of her head. Baby sleep In aircon room. I applied olive oil once a day. Currently using babyganics shampoo + body wash. Been using this brand since birth. Not sure if it's due to this brand.
Kindly share any remedies or tips on how to care for the condition above. Or is it related to my diet that is causing baby to have such condition. I'm just feeling the stress / helplessness coz it makes me seem like I failed as a mum. Thank you so much.
