- 2023-07-24Hi mummies, FTM here seeking for your advice.
I am still considering whether to get a breast pump now or should i wait until baby is out? Reason being, i’m not sure if i have/have enough supply for BM, will i end up giving FM to baby? If yes, that will be a waste of $ to get a pump if i don’t really get to use it.
Do you mummies get a breast pump before or after baby is born? Also, any tips to look out for a suitable breast pump? Thank you!

- 2023-07-24My baby is 4month. Her BCG injection site is still red and sometimes bleeds a little.
Is there anything I can do? Can I apply anything to help speed up the healing?
I apply kids friendly plaster before giving her a bath.

- 2023-07-24Hello fellow mummies,
I hope you are all doing well. I recently discovered that I am 5 weeks pregnant, and prior to knowing about the pregnancy, I had been experiencing several episodes of hives. I was diagnosed with chronic spontaneous urticaria and prescribed Cetirizine HCI 10mg as a daily anti-histamine.
Now, I am concerned about the potential impact of this medication on my developing baby. I've heard that some medications might not be safe during pregnancy, and I want to ensure the well-being of my child.
I plan to contact my healthcare provider soon, but in the meantime, I wanted to reach out to the community for some insights. Has anyone else experienced chronic spontaneous urticaria during pregnancy? If so, were you advised to continue or discontinue taking Cetirizine HCI 10mg?
Of course, I understand that individual cases may vary, but I would appreciate any personal experiences or general advice that you can share. I want to make an informed decision regarding my medication and my baby's health.
Please note that I will consult with my healthcare provider for personalized advice, but hearing from others who have gone through something similar would be immensely helpful.
Thank you all for your support and insights.

- 2023-07-24I’m currently in week 25 and plan to go back to hometown to give birth in week 28. Since it’s still some time before maternity leave, my company doesn’t allow me to wfh, instead asking me to take unpaid leave. Actually I feel quite disappointed that there’s no protection in Singapore for pregnant employee other than the dismissal … does anyone encounter the same thing as me?

- 2023-07-26Hi mummies, as society emerging where parents are moving house to have a heads up in settling for a better primary school for your kids. Just wondering what are your thoughts on that?
For me personally, we are staying in a non-mature BTO estate with alot of young parents and young children around, and we really like the environment here, it’s safe and we have all necessity, supermarket, clinics, neighbourhood school. Further more we can even survive on one person income if needed, and we can fully pay our BTO by 45 years old which no liabilities at a young age, which i feel is a win.
We can afford a private property but I feel that it will be an added stress where we need to work harder, we can’t even quit if we want a break if it’s a job we hate and if it affects our mental health etc, so we don’t feel the need to because both my husband and I are simple and contented in life and our joint income is very sufficient for us to take care of our boy, go travel and go for enrichment class etc.
Am i being selfish if I don’t follow the social trend to send my kid to a good school? But i feel it is overrated in the society though.
Definitely a debating topic, and i feel it is “choose what is right for you and your family.”
What do you think?

- 2023-07-26Im currently 32w, other than calf cramp everynow and then, since past few days, my calf muscle and toes always keep twitching for quite awhile. Always happen at night when im about to go to sleep. Like the muscle and toe will move by itself abit. Which is very uncomfortable and not able to sleep. Doesnt hurt just that its weird and very uncomfortable.
Stretching doesnt help at all.
Anyone experiencing the same ?

- 2023-07-26Now in 3rd trim, is it normal sometimes our vagina feels slight pain/sore or even feel like theres a slight tear after doing sex? Not the whole vagina but specifically the perineum area, the tissue/skin below our opening.
It doesnt necessarily hurts when doing but only after the deed.
Is this normal? Or is it because of pregnancy our vagina is a little sensitive ?
I cant imagine how itll be like giving birth vaginally 😵💫

- 2023-07-26Can I check post meal pricking range given to me was to try keep within 5.5-6.6, if on n off my dinner post meal was 7.1, is it ok? Do I need to be worried about it? Previously pre-meal pricking supposed 4.4-5.5, but I always get below 4.4 ( 3plus to 4.1, even gt 1 time 2.9). So was told to eat per normal n adjust from there, so I just started eat per normal, last week everything still OK, this week post dinner become 7.1 after eating rice with teriyaki salmon and stir fry long beans and 1 apple. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

- 2023-07-26This gonna be a long post.. TIA for spending time to read..
Currently my no. 1 is 20mths old & no. 2 is 6 mths old. Last time my no. 1 is quite close to me but after i’m preg with no. 2 the time i carry him & play with him is lesser. His daddy will play with him more & my dad also help me to take care of him like bring him out.. Until I gave birth to no. 2 I also have to put more time on no. 2. And I started to feel my no. 1 is not close to me anymore.. so after we hired a helper, I’ve been trying to spent more time with him. But whenever he did something dangerous I will ended up scolding him. I always told myself to stay calm & talk to him nicely but sometime i just can’t control.. I feel that i’m the bad person to him. Whenever he is unhappy he won’t look for me, instead he go for my dad or my hubby. He is very sticky to my hubby & my dad esp my dad pampered him.. i feel that my hubby can take care of him well better than me.. also my helper is helping me to take care of my no. 2 & she carry her more than i do.. the only time I’ve more time is weekend & I will try to spent time with them.. on other hand i’ve to spent time pumping bm & i feel tired very easily sometime i need rest.. i’m worried next time my no. 2 also not close to me.. I feel that the house do not need me.. no matter how hard i try to get close to them i got pushed away or ignored. I feel like a failure & thinking 1 day my son will say he hate me.. what shld i do to become a good mummy to them..

- 2023-07-26What was the most difficult thing you felt you and your hubby had to go through postpartum or during the pregnancy? Asking as a 26w ftm.
We fight alot now because I feel he’s not ready but I always wonder if anything will change or even get worse after my kid is born.
- 2023-07-26Hi guys, can i just ask something. I’m living with my in laws & i have my nephew who’s about 3YO staying with us too as my MIL took care of him since he was a newborn. No doubt, I love him really.
Just that I wanna ask if it’s normal to not like his attitude at times? He’s still not able to talk fluently and I’m not sure if he could understand what I’m saying.
I have a 3MO baby with me, I love that he enjoys to play with my daughter however he kept falling sick almost every month he will always fall sick either down with fever/running nose/cough or all in one shot. He still gets around my baby even though I stopped him, especially when I’m feeding i can’t move around much, he’ll get on top of the sofa/my bed and get around my baby. Comes to my room or sofa whenever i’m with baby full of his cars/trucks toys and then climbs up my sofa jumping around. My MIL didn’t even bother to like “ure sick come here” and take him away. She just let it be you know. She have a very LOUD LOUD LOUD LIKE SUPER LOUD VOICE, when she talks ITS LOUD AF looks like as if she’s SHOUTING. oh and, i take care of my kid 100% at home without NEEDING a single help from her. My baby may not be able to sleep properly sometimes because of my nephew who likes to throw toys around/my MIL being very loud. But she blames me sometimes because of not swaddling my baby. I’ve tried whatever I could to swaddle my daughter but she can’t sleep in peace with being swaddled since she was a newborn. I only swaddled a month plus and that’s it.
I can’t lock the room or close the door everyday even though my daughter is sick because my MIL will say “pity your daughter, always in the room. sit outside lah have fresh air what.” sigh.
what should I do guys? How do I say that ok he’s sick and I gotta put my baby in the room, i do not want him near my baby. But at the same time I feel so bad because he always love to play with me or baby.

- 2023-07-27I'm in Week 12, and I have gone from 54 to 59kg. I eat very often since I am pregnant to avoid nausea. I'll start vomitting whenever I feel hungry (even the slightest), and I cant let it as I need to teach in class. Lesson hour usually varies from 2 to 4 hours, sometimes back to back. Too small a portion can't last long before I'll feel nauseous again. Any advice/tips? #advicepls #firsttimemom #pleasehelp #nausea #morningsickness

Anything got to do with my parents, like things that involve my parents side, and she don't like how they do. Also got mention. Really cannot stand her, seems like she trying to pick on me. Everytime said behind my back. Told my hubby, she had been saying thing on mean from the day I move in. He just keep num. Told him I want to get our own house just with him and baby...ya...now got a 10mths old baby. I really hope my child can have his own room. But he insist to stay with the parents and there is younger bro btw, even when we get bto. He still want to stay with them, saying is his responsibility as a elder son, but there is others way of taking care of them if we not staying together right?

- 2023-07-27So I started washing my baby’s clothes recently and I noticed these fibres coming out and just floating all over when you shake the clothes.
Initially I thought it was because it wasn’t washed properly so I washed it again but it’s still happening. Is this normal and is this still safe for the baby to wear? O.o
I’m worried about it getting inhaled.

- 2023-07-27Hi mummies, FTM here. Im thinking of getting Hospitalisation Leave like 3 weeks before giving birth/Maternity leave.
Usually how does HL works? Doe they give you 2-3 weeks first ? And if you have not given birth, theyll give you another HL ? At which week did you get/start your HL and for how long is your HL before your Maternity leave ?
I know it depends on gynae if theyre lenient or not.

- 2023-07-28At 9.5 months old, how many times a day should baby be on solid food? My baby still takes mostly pureed food. Occasionally will mash slightly thicker food for him like banana etc. He drinks only bm and sometimes doesn't seem interested in solid food, or eat very little. However, he's very interested in what we adults eat. Is this normal? Any tips on getting baby to eat more?
Thanks!

- 2023-07-28Random, but i just feel the need to rant somewhere. Have you guys felt disappointed or little resentment towards your parents during or after your pregnancy?
Ever since the start of my pregnancy until now, 33weeks, my parents has never really asked me about my well being or about baby’s well being. Its always im the one that need to randomly update or tell them. Im staying with my in laws, and im always the one that need to visit my parents house, they have never once asked me to come over or try to visit me or ask me out. They also always tell me to msg them whenever i want or if i need something, when we meet. But whenever i msg them, specifically my mum, be it normal msg to inform something or to rant about something thats bothering me, she always never reply. Mind you, shes almost mostly on her phone.
As of now they also never like buy things for me or baby, or like chip in to buy baby stuff. Not a single thing.
Fyi i am the first in family to be pregnant this will be their first grandchild.
I just feel and wished that my parents wouldve given me more support or so. Cause i feel like im not their daughter ?
Pls dont me to tell my parents or talk to them abt this cs im not the type to let out my feelings and itll be awkward if i do so.
Aside to this, is it normal to feel that pregnancy can be very lonely ? Like nobody feels you or understand you and you kind of expected mroe support but never really get it. Be it from husband or others. It feels like im going through this journey alone. And people just want the outcome, which is the baby, they never really care about the journey or process that youre gg thru.

- 2023-07-28Hi mummies
I am FTM
I am not sure if i want to go for natural delivery or c sect, my constipation today i think made small tear near my anus it’s sting when kena water.
If a hard poop can make the skin tear easily then isnt the childbirth will make me tear even more to the point reach 3rd or 4th degree? 🙁
I know i have to decide asap but c sect ppl say recovery is slower😵💫

- 2023-07-28Hi.

- 2023-07-28Im a ftm and currently 33 weeks.
Is it normal to feel like breathless or short of breath even when im not doing anything? Like just sitting or laying down 😩
- 2023-07-28In my 3rd trimester now.
Through out the pregnancy, do you guys ever feel lonely ? It’s a different kind of lonely feeling. No matter how many people are around you, you just feel lonely and like you’re in this journey by yourself. Yes, your husband is around you but sometimes they dont feel or understand what we feel or what we’re going through.
To them, we women are built to be pregnant. Not thinking we are also normal human being and also a first time mom, and new to this.
The people around you are more to looking forward to the delivery of the baby, but never ask about the mummy’s mental health or condition. If they are ok, if they are coping.
And when baby’s born, theyre gonna claim themself as oh im the aunt oh im the grandma etc etc when they have never been there for you throughout your pregnancy.

- 2023-07-29I’m formula feeding my first baby for a quite long already and currently pregnant with second at 12 weeks. I notice I have milk ducts now and milk is leaking out. What do I do ? My baby is 2 weeks only but during the day time she sleeps too long and needs to be dramatically aroused to wake up to feed and at night she wakes and fusses every 1-2 hours.
