Anyone slept with baby in same room for the first year or few months only?

I slept with my baby till she was 2 years old++, almost going 3. Her crib was always there in the same room. We waited for her to willingly move to her own bed to sleep because she will eventually realized there isn't enough space and our movement is disturbing her sleep 🤣 . We had a Doomo cushion to put her in as a baby. I'm also a light sleeper so there's no way I am crushing someone while sleeping without my knowledge. Issit beneficial?
