Where can you feel baby movements in your belly around 16 weeks of pregnancy ?
Is it strictly in the lower part of belly or it can be in upper part too? I sometimes feel linger movement in my upper right stomach so not sure what it could be.
Curious!

Hi everyone! I'm interested to know your thoughts and opinion on this 😊
Both of us are earning gross 5k a month, but eventually when the baby is born i would like to quit my job and be around to take care of baby and also spend time because it is important to be there for the child during the starting years.
How other parents are planning/have planned to do so? Would it make financial strain on the other person who will have to work full time? Especially considering getting a flat soon as well.
Thank you all 😊
- 2022-10-04Am I still got hope???
- 2022-10-04This questions goes out to mummies who are currently expecting & have kids as well.
I have a 26 month old toddler and I'll be welcoming baby number 2 in Jan. As far as I'm concerned, how did you parents arranged to take care of your toddler (without any parents , siblings , in laws helping - ZERO) ? My hubby suggested to bring toddler along if I were to go in labour but I told him hospital doesn't allow young kids to be in. We are contemplating in asking my younger sister to assist in caring for toddler while hubby accompany me during labour as we are not sure if she can manage. My parents live in tampines & I really don't want to trouble my mother as she has several health issues and my toddler can be quite a handful 😅 any suggestions?

- 2022-10-05Hi mummies. Im a ftm and i neeeedddd tips/advice. My bb is 18 days old today. Right when she’s born, she’s on both bm & fm as I have low supply. Doctors also encouraged me to give fm since she has jaundice. No she doesn’t latch and I only pump then feed her. Now I realised that each pump sessions, I’ll only get 60-100 ml at most. Been pumping every 3 hours. But if I dont pump for 6-7 hours, there’s more supply like 100-120 ml. How to increase my supply please :( Or will it stabilise only after 2 months? I’m so upset & guilty I need encouragement.

- 2022-10-06How accurate is the dating scan? My hubby and I had our first sexual intercouse with ejaculation on the week of July 25 after I move in to the new house. On 12 July( a day before our ROM), there was no ejaculation (due to his covid previously which might affected the performance)😅 Kinda remembered these 2 dates as it was a milestone in my life.
When I did the dating scan on 13 Sep in KKH, I was extremely shocked that I'm on my 9th week of pregnancy. Shouldn't it be the 7th week based on the week of 25th July? Prior to 12th July, we have been doing the deed without ejaculation and it has been fine.
The doctor told me based on the size of baby it has to be 9th week.
My EDD is dated 18th April 2023. My last menses was from 25th to 30th June.
How was the dating scan calculated? Is it accurate?
Just more of curiosity, but I am still very happy to know that I'm pregnant.
Some context: I have irregular menses since young, ranging from 1 to 1.5 or even 2 months. Hence, I didn't discover it earlier.

- 2022-10-06Hi everyone, I just gotten back my results for FTS. Although the structure scans are normal, my PPAP-A is very low (0.19 MoM) which increases the risk of trisomy 21. Currently, I am still waiting for the results from my HARMONY/NIPT test. However, I was told that even if my Harmony/NIPT test indicates that it’s low risk for trisomy 21, my baby would still have risk of developing other genetic diseases (that is not tested in NIPT) due to my super low PPAP-A level. Anyone had similar experience? Advice needed, thanks;((( #firsttimemom

I overpacked during birth #1 back in 2020 so I wanna cross check what I should/shouldn't pack this time round. 🤣🤣
Also when did you start packing? Can I just pack it now in ziplock and put in bag as I'm afraid I might be occupied with toddler till I forget 🤣🤣

- 2022-10-06Hi mummies! Would u mind sharing your baby’s weight at 29 weeks/ 32 weeks in during pregnancy?
I had an appt at W29 and my bb was 1.4kg, gynae says he’s considered overweight so I was told to cut down on carbs, certain fruits and sugar intake. I do not have GD but so far I’ve gained ~12kg.
Also what’s the ideal weight range for natural birth? Is there any other ways to reduce bb weight?
I’ve tried to avoid carbs (rice & noodles) and have lost about 1kg in a week. Not sure if it’s a good thing.

- 2022-10-06My baby, 7 months old, is having runny nose and cough on going for almost a month. And seems to me that it is not going away. Similarly, he has been on the medication for a month long. After a doctor's consultation, he advise to continue with the medication (does not include antibiotics) until he recovers. But I am starting to get uncomfortable with the continuation of medication. Because I am fearful of the effects of taking these meds for too long, and he might be even addicted to it.
Dear mummies, what is your advice?
Thanks.

- 2022-10-06Can Braxton Hicks contractions be painful? I’m currently in week 29 of my pregnancy and in recent weeks I’ve experienced 4 really painful episodes of such contractions. It feels like very bad menstrual cramps and comes in waves and feels like clenching and releasing of the uterus. One episode usually lasts around 10 minutes or less. It happens in my lower abdomen, what feels like below my baby bump. There are no accompanying symptoms other than the very bad menstrual like cramps.

- 2022-10-07Every kid’s upbringing is different. Sure you can raise your child so that they can be a doctor or a lawyer etc but I just want my kid to grow up happily and healthily. Who am I to decide for them on what they want to be in the future? I don’t need you to tell me that I need to send my kid to school early (8m) so that they can be smarter since they start faster.
So what if other parents are sending their babies for enrichment classes already? Why do you have to make it sound like my child will be dumber? I myself started school early and also went for tuition and yet I still flunked my studies. No logic.
I seriously hate it when people keeps comparing my kid to others. Keeps asking me why I don’t want to send my kid to IFC. Seriously just MYOB and STFU.

This month I have the glucose test and Consultation only. I was wondering if it's possible to get another scanning as I do not want to wait until next month to know the gender. Or during the consultation wil the doctor be checking for the babby's heartbeat and isit possible to ask the doctor to check the gender as well? Thanks in advance!

- 2022-10-08Can someone help me understand the mentality of sahm?
So often have I come across sahm or daddies whose wives are sahm who came and persuade me to quit my job and be a sahm for the kids.
They always told me that kids grow up so fast and that I should treasure the time with my kids while they are young.
They always told me that money can always be earned but we can never earned back the time lost.
When I told them I would consider or straight that I am ok with being a ftwm, I always get their annoyed look, as if I am not a good mother. They would tell me that I would regret my decision in future and that I am not placing my kids above my career. They would make me feel so guilty.
Yet, many of these sahm, placed their child to cc for the whole day.
So what is the difference when the time spent by these sahm with their kids r equal as that of a ftwm?
I had even come across sahm whom says ftw parents r irresponsible parents bcoz they send their kids who have nt 100% recovered to school. When working parents told them abt the challenge of taking leaves for days just to make sure their kids have totally no symptoms, or that they simply have not enough leaves, these sahm can bash the working parents as saying they are uncaring and unethical parents as they cared more about their work than the health of their child. Some sahm always mentioned that people should not give birth if they have no help around or could not afford to keep their children at home in the event of sickness.
I also came across one who says that the government should is penalising sahm as sahm receive lower cc subsidy than working mums. That they should receive equal, if not higher cc subsidy than working mums since they r nt working and household incomes had been halved.
But then again, if sahm sincerely quit their job to look after and spend more time with their kids, then by right they should not have the need to put their children in cc? They should not need any additional subsidy?
So to me, it always sounds like sahm are self entitled people who wants the best of both worlds. They just dont want to work using child caring as an excuse, and they want government (essentially are tax payers == working parents) to pay for their childs full day cc fee when they could afford to keep their child at home or just attend half day. Being a sahm also empowers them to criticise working parents for not putting their kids as priority.
So can someone help me understand the mentality of sahm? Because I really get frustrated at time with their judging criticism and yet find that they are doing the opposite as what they preach.
- 2022-10-08Hi mummies
I had covid a week back and my milk supply dropped by about 200ml…I still feel tired and I believe my body is still recovering from covid.
Will the milk supply return back to normal once the body has recovered? And also, are there things that I can do/eat now to recover fast…
- 2022-10-08On my 12th week day 4 now. I have brown light spotting discharge yesterday, size of a 20 cents coin. I usually have either white or yellow discharge, but yesterday brown discharge with no cramps or pain. I went down to KK A&E today and was prescribed with 200mg Utrogestan for 2 weeks and ultrasound scan was normal.
Should I eat the Utrogestan immediately or should I continue to observe since I only got 1 day of brown spotting ? Is there any harmful side effect to the baby or myself in the long term for eating this pill?
