Painful Braxton Hicks

Can Braxton Hicks contractions be painful? I’m currently in week 29 of my pregnancy and in recent weeks I’ve experienced 4 really painful episodes of such contractions. It feels like very bad menstrual cramps and comes in waves and feels like clenching and releasing of the uterus. One episode usually lasts around 10 minutes or less. It happens in my lower abdomen, what feels like below my baby bump. There are no accompanying symptoms other than the very bad menstrual like cramps. #advicepls #firstbaby

Braxton hicks can be painful but it shouldn’t last that long when it happens thou. Best to get it checked for a peace of mind.

BH can be felt anywhere around the tummy but it should come and go and shouldn’t lat as long as you mentioned. Usually will release in less than a min or so. Have you seen your gynae yet?
