- 2021-08-23My MIL literally hang everything to let them dry below sunshine . Everything include my heavy baby stroller , till the handle cracked bcause it couldn’t hold the weight. This is my third baby stroller already and i had slowly getting mad at my MIL asking her “why would u hang 5kg things above such height?” She said to let em dry bcause she had clean & washed it. I say “i already wash it and i put it on the floor to let it dry, why would u hang it again? Why?” 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Im so stressed but feeling guilty bcause i think its a little bit harsh of me , but seriously, I’ve been wasting so much money bcause she kept washing everything include those what cannot be put into washing machine and hang them to dry until the condition is so bad .
Anyone has a tips on living with stubborn mother in law

- 2021-08-23Any mom just recently give birth at KKH under subsidies patient?
Was wondering if husband can be around during labour and after during visiting hours? I know for C class they won't allowed husband to overnight. Wouldn't want to be alone during both timing as with the new rule, it's confusing and annoying.
And is there any deposit need to be made for hosp stay and delivery? I'm at my 39 weeks and doc didn't mention anything about it nor ask me to register for labour ward (?) as from what i heard once you're in your last few weeks they usually ask you to choose your ward etc but I'm not sure if it's applicable for subsidies patient.

- 2021-08-23Hi all.
I have confirmed through pregnancy kits that I am pregnant and my Gynae also confirmed.
I am currently 4 weeks 2 days and experienced some headaches, cramps and bloatedness at times.
As my ultrascan only can be done at week 6 (in order to see baby’s heartbeat), is there any way to know how baby is doing? Is everything ok?
It’s my first pregnancy and I don’t know how to tell if everything is alright.
- 2021-08-23Hello, out of curiosity can I know if anyone manage to get freebies/goodies from insurance consultation? I recently join a zoom for AIA not sure if they will really mail me the freebies as promised if I decided not to proceed with the plan after the underwriting is out. Also, if you have join consultation for agent A for freebies? Will you be able to join agent B for freebies when they are from the same company? Anyone have any experience?
Trying to save cost as much as possible so decide to use time in exchange for the freebies haha. Anyone the same?

Is this normal? :( I'm seeing my doctor for a scheduled appt this friday.

- 2021-08-23Hi everyone,
I had a stillbirth at 27weeks and had a c section to deliver my boy. It happened on 1st Jan when most people are celebrating the new year, I'm at the hospital crying for the loss of my son.
After 5 months, my husband and I decided to try again with the advice from my doctor that it's ok to try again as she understood that we really want a baby.
But after getting pregnant again, instead of being happy, my husband and I are living in fear of losing our second kid to stillbirth again.
Are there anyone who went thru the similar situation as me and had a healthy rainbow baby? I'm hoping to find some peace with your story. Please do share it with me.
Thank you for your time in reading my post.
Edit: we did check with the doctor about what happened and the doctor couldn't find anything abnormal about the pregnancy and that everything was actually normal after doing some tests. She said it just happens sometimes.

- 2021-08-24Hi mummies, do you feed your kids eggs everyday ?
- 2021-08-24Hi i m a ftm, ever since i stay with hub at mil place i feel stressed and like always get scolded for things like never do certain properly etc. Now i m preg and also confinement nanny dont have i was told by bil to not give mil take care and i alr plan to tc with my husband, order confinement food etc. Before gg back to work after maternity i dont plan to give mil to take care as she s 70+ and i dont want her to raise my child and her body cant take it for fear bil will scold given that she had past record during confinement she couldnt take care for my sil and she raised white flag. Ended up they found a nanny. Now their kids is big sometimes they leave clothing at the place she handwashes them and get very mad and scold behind their back. So i planned feb mar for friend to tc, and she got so mad. April onwards put in ifc near my home i will fetch and send. My husband had a fear aince boy that it will be the same as bil kid spoilt, naughty and angry. Mil is sensitive and tired most days and during my confinement i wanna do it my way bathe daily in herbs water etc and dont want her to tc cause i want to avoid conflict and ppl talking behind my back or complaining to bil. What should i do? Find a place for one month during confinement, or what should i do. I just dont want mil to tc. My parents are not close to me and due to personal reasons they cant take care.
Once baby give birth, how much allowance additional must i give to parents in law? Since i will need wash, feed and clean baby, since they arent not gg to take care and i dont want them to for fear of getting chided by bil, how much to top up for existing allowance? Pls advise. #firstbaby #1stimemom #pleasehelp

- 2021-08-24I'm currently at #30weekspregnancy , first time mum. Just wondering if I can stop taking Obimin or Folic Acid. Waiting for my gynae to get back to me on the supplements as I forgot to ask her during last appointment and my supplements are finished.
- 2021-08-24My baby is 3 months old and I imagined this to be the best period of my life, but it turned out to be the worst, I’ve never cried so much in a period of 3 months. Is it normal that I feel this way or am I over reacting? Any advice would be helpful!
I live with my MIL who is not very agile and able (shaky hands, weak, poor eyesight) therefore she is not the caretaker of my baby. She isn’t really allowed to carry the baby as she just isn’t capable of doing so safely. I get anxiety watching her carry my baby as she just can’t seem to carry him right and his neck is always in a precarious position.
I feel she is being so overzealous and not giving me the privacy and space that I need. The moment I leave my room in the morning she follows him around. If we are in the living room and I have to change his diaper in the bedroom, she literally follows from living room to bedroom. She has a habit of “hovering” around and literally standing by the side and just stares at him. He could be sleeping in the bouncer while I am just using my phone on the sofa, and she would just stand there to stare at him sleeping for a good 5 minutes. I would be changing his diaper in the bedroom and she would just stand there and look the whole time. I would be holding his pacifier so it doesn’t drop and she would come hold it too. I would be rocking his bouncer and she will rock it too. When I’m talking to my baby while changing his diapers or while tummy timing, she talks over me. The moment she hears baby cries she darts out of her room to check on him, even when it’s a slight whimper. Every. Single. Time. She touches him when he sleeps and it annoys me because she is disrupting his sleep. When he cries and I am trying to soothe him by going shhhhh, she is there raising her volume and imitating his cries. It is just not helpful and I feel so aggravated.
She has walked into my bedroom because she wants to see the baby. Sometimes when I close the door she knocks and ask if she can come in, if I say no because I’m pumping or something, she asks if I can bring him out.
I feel so uncomfortable and oppressed in my own home because of the lack of privacy and personal space. I used to be a homebody but I hate being home now, I can’t wait to leave the house at any opportunity and I hate having to leave my bedroom with my baby in the morning. I just wish I could stay with baby in my room all day.
I get so annoyed when I listen to her talk or play with my baby. She repeats her ‘bye bye’ more than 10x each time we leave the house and also ‘goodnight’ every night. Everyday she tells baby his feet is cold and I reply the same thing everyday that it is fine and it isn’t cold. She isn’t even the caretaker but every single day she asks what time is baby drinking? Is baby sleeping? What time is he having his bath? Etc etc.
Am I right to feel this way or am I being over sensitive? I have spoken to my MIL about the above and she says she just wants to see her grandson, and because she works 3 times a week she doesn’t have enough time to play with him. She argues I have so much time with him since I am by his side almost all the time. She laments to my husband that the baby is always kept in my bedroom and he has told her she isn’t allowed to enter to respect my privacy.
I am going crazy thinking about how to tolerate this unhappiness for the rest of my life. My baby is only 3 months old and I think I’m already going depressed. My husbands often ask me to bring my baby out to the living room in the morning so that MIL can play with the baby and I resent him for this. Have told him but it happens again and again. I’m just thinking did I really go through pregnancy, child birth and all just to feel this unhappy? And for someone to be able to play with my baby?! I am usually a happy jovial person but recently I feel so miserable and sad. I wish we didn’t have to stay with her but it’s not a choice as she has nowhere else to go. I feel like there I no solution unless we end up in a divorce so that I can leave with my baby.
Any advice, mummies? Ps this is not her first grandchild, but it’s her first time living in the same home with a grandchild.

- 2021-08-25Do you believe in disciplining your teenage child with caning like how we used to back then when our parents will cane us if we cause them problems or are problematic?
I'm at my wits end. I am super exhausted with my daughter's behaviour who mixes around with the wrong circle of friends at school. Her teachers kept telling my husband that we should talk to her. They does not know that we've been advicing her, talked to her heart to heart & even threatened her to change her school but still.... We've been very lenient to her and my husband who used to work in the force is against me using the caning method. I feel like I'm about to explode and beat the crap out of her.
What do you parents do to teach your problematic teenagers? Please advice me. I am so exhausted and feels like I'm losing my sanity. Being a mum to teens is very exhausting!

- 2021-08-25Hi mommies. Do any of you have/had early pregnancy symptom whereby you get nauseous whenever you think about food? I am constantly hungry but just by thinking about food makes me sick. - 2021-08-25After ttc for 2 years, I was happy to finally get my bfp. But my happiness is short lived, just found out I'm having identical twins (what are the odds right???), one twin is smaller than the other and I have so many uncertainties and questions now. This could mean alot more complications and risks. I was praying to see a heartbeat during my scan but was never expecting to see 2 heartbeats.
I was told that the smaller one may not survive and could end up as a "vanishing twin". Or if they both survive, then there is a risk of twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). This stresses me out so much! From wondering if I might have a missed miscarriage if I couldn't see a heartbeat to worrying about all the risks and complications of a twin pregnancy.
I feel like God has played a joke on me. All the worst scenarios are happening to me. All I wanted was a normal pregnancy!

- 2021-08-25Hi mummies need your advice but also a bit of a rant. My mother and I are having some disagreements on feeding my 4 month old baby. Baby is currently exclusively latched plus I only pump once in a while for emergency uses. As far as I know, breastfeeding is going well since baby latches well and gains weight well (a bit bigger than average). But my mother says my supply is not enough for baby and need to top up formula. I'm not against formula feeding however I don't see a need as breastfeeding is going well, and I don't know whether baby will react well to formula. I'm resisting but my mother keeps complaining and she keeps feeding baby my pumped stash which I want to save :( even though I said I can just directly latch.
The reasons she claims my supply is low are: 1) my boobs look soft and flabby (I must agree this is true, my boobs used to feel much heavier and firmer in earlier days but now not so much) but I'm not sure if it's an indication that my supply is low? And 2) because baby is very fussy lately even after feeding, but I feel fussiness can be caused by many reasons not necessarily because of hunger. Every time baby cries my mother would make remarks that baby is hungry and my empty boobs are not enough to make her full which makes me feel so disheartened and sad.
I don't know who is right anymore, I really can't tell if my supply has gone down, the only fact I do know is baby is still growing well and chubby, although quite fussy sometimes. When I do pump I'd get about 40-80ml per boob (I usually pump about 1 hour after feeding baby). What do mummies think? #pleasehelp #advicepls #breastfeeding
- 2021-08-25my appetite has improved but still cannot eat a lot at a time. So overall intake of food still lower than normal, not yet gaining back to my original weight.
I still have certain hormone induced food cravings that are not so healthy (i love sweet & sour taste food), and I’m supposed to eat more vege and nutritious stuff already but I feel averse to most vege except like corn; to due to hormones…I usually love vegetables .
I’m worried baby not getting balanced nutrients from my diet as I’m entering 2nd trimester. Is it impt therefore to force myself to eat food I feel averse to if they are good for me? Or will I get better gradually and no need to worry? TIA.

At the same time I think she is very curious with her hands so when we put one hand out (gradually unswaddling her), she usually puts it near her mouth to suck or scratches her head or rubs her hand on her face. Any tips on how to get her to keep her hands down as during the night it seems like she’s waking up and ‘playing’ with her hand (causing more night wakes). Also, I’m afraid her hand gets cold as we on the aircon at night. Any tips on that as well? TIA!

- 2021-08-27Hello mummies. I'm at 32w of pregnancy. On 17/7 i had discharge with a mixed of blood. Went to KKH, they checked and did a swab. Only today (27/8) they called me to say i have candidiasis. Whereas during the check they told me they will call me the following if there's anything. If everything clear, they won't call me. Can i even trust them now? I'm worried of myself giving birth there now. Should i get the suppositories from them and start on? Isn't candidiasis will heal by itself naturally since it's more than a month already? I should have started on the suppositories earlier no?

Tasted good while I was drinking it though 😀
- 2021-08-27It’s great for ‘catching’ milk leaking from the other breast while latching baby. However, note that it only sucks and doesn’t mimic the same flutter sucking or sucking and swallowing patterns as baby so using this as a substitute for a pump may cause blocked ducts.

- 2021-08-28Hi mummies, my LO has this problem. After her shitting, the first wipe of her anus will have a little blood spot. This problem has been there for several months and it happens on and off. Not sure if it is due to her hard stool. Can mummies advise me? Thank you.

- 2021-08-28Hi all, would like to share some insights since I find many forum questions are asked by different users about the same topic - whether to take the vaccine or not.
I used to be of the view that I’ll only take it after baby delivered. However my views have changed because of recent change in Singapore’s stance against Covid and how they will be dealing with it.
I still think it’s best to take it after first trimester when organs of baby are developed, but this is my own opinion. Hence I’m going for the jab in 2nd T.
Reasons why I’ll encourage all to consider taking the vaccine during pregnancy:
(1) as SG move to treating Covid as endemic, and we need to open up for the economy, more cases will be shooting up in time to come. Along with it, more UNLINKED transmissions will occur. This puts the unvaccinated people at greatest risk. Will you be ok with it?
It is already happening now - cases are rising already…
(2) vaccinated people can still infect other people - it doesn’t mean they are 100% immune to Covid
- if your family members are vaccinated but have to work and travel outdoors, they can still carry the virus back home to you. The worst part is, they may not show ANY symptoms of sickness. This is the Scariest part. Even if you coop yourself at home, don’t go outside, someone you live with can still pass the virus to you.
- delta variant as we know, is more aggressive than the original strain. This puts unvaccinated folks really at a vulnerable position. Furthermore you have a child in you as a pregnant mum.
(3) Have you heard of Covid placenta? Photos attached for more info.
- Covid likes to cause blood clots in their host. This means your placenta can get clots, which will stop nutrients and blood flow to your unborn baby. Your baby will likely to die in your womb.
- getting vaccinated while pregnant will reduce the risk significantly.
(4) while newborn infants are not eligible (yet) for Covid jabs, if you take the vaccine you can pass antibodies to your unborn child via placenta
In conclusion, risk now far outweighs benefits of not taking vaccine. If we can’t even guarantee the life of baby inside us, we can’t even talk about dealing with potential Covid jab side effects once baby is born right? The requirement is that your baby must be alive to do so. Would you rather have a baby, and then cope with any potential Covid jab side effects? Or would you rather have Covid virus infect you and baby if you don’t take the jab?

- 2021-08-28Hi all may i know if anyone had chosen to give birth via another position i.e. the hands and knee position or lying on the exercise ball or standing position when giving birth in SGH/KKH? As far as I am concerned, i am aware that lying down on the bed is the bad position for natural labour as it may not help baby to engage.
