- 2022-10-17I’ve just tested after missing a period and it’s positive. I’ve seen various discussion on public and private hospital for deliveries and choosing the right gynaecologist. I’m currently overwhelmed with information and can’t seem to make up my mind on public/ private hospital to then decide my gynaecologist.
Can moms please share why you chose public/ private hospital and your consideration in choosing the right gynaecologist?
Thanks in advance.

Update:
I’ve just went for my first appointment with KKH subsidised. I’m currently still deciding based on my experience with KKH subsidised to decide if I would be switching to private within the next couple of sessions.
The whole appointment took about 2.5 hours which included the required scan, pee stick test, height and weight measurement and blood pressure test.
We then had a consultation with a doctor who provided a brief explanation and understanding of our health condition as well as the EDD (expected delivery date).
Subsequently, we waited for a short briefing about FTS Down syndrome test to decide if we would like to proceed with any of the test.
Total cost of first visit: $240
After subsidies: $150

- 2022-10-17I'm hungry every 2 hours, so to keep myself not hungry I ate red bean bao, small egg cakes, bread. Is it too much sugar?
- 2022-10-17Hi Mummies! I’m a first time mom and I’m super anxious! I missed my period and took a home kit test which was positive and I calculated we are 5 weeks pregnant! We went for an ultrasound today but no sac was detected. Doctor mentioned that it could be that it’s too early or it could be an ectopic pregnancy! This has made me scared! Has anyone had similar experiences? When did your sac appear? #firsttimemom #advicepls #firstbaby

- 2022-10-17When to KKH, during the scan doctor claim there is nothing visible in my womb, she did mention 6 weeeks is still considered very early stage. Did urine n blood test, I'm still positive of pregnancy. The HCG level is also low. Need to go back on the 19th to give blood again. If there is a decrease in the HCG level, high possibility of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. I'm extremely very worried. Any mummy experience this b4 and did u carry the pregnancy for the full term?
- 2022-10-17Hi mummies, I have switched out my usual SK II skincare once I know I'm pregnant. It seems like there are some ingredients that are not pregnancy friendly.
I would like to know if any mummies here will resume using skincare that is not pregnancy safe when baby has arrived ?

- 2022-10-17Hi all mummies, I’m quite lost and confused now. I’m currently using Haenim 3rd gen UV Sterilizer for my 2+ months LO. I just realized I have been using it for Avent bottles and teats all these while without checking it’s not recommended for tests and pacifier. May I know if any mummies out there using UV sterilizer and how do you all sterilize the teats and pacifier?
- 2022-10-17I’m currently drinking HL milk and I know that it is not exactly the best choice. Based on the posts from everyone, seems like meiji low fat is a good choice but can someone please show me the correct type ? Like the colour of the cap
- 2022-10-17I feel slight nausea only after eating. But my appetite is still there. No adverse to smells or craving any foods. My nipples don’t feel sore. But I’ve been having cramps or generally feeling very heavy since my ovulation last week. Lastly no spotting either.
- 2022-10-17Is it normal? My panties feel wet for the whole week after ovulation. No foul smell but just wet. Or does it mean my “ovulation” hasn’t ended?
My period this month went from 30 days to 26 days so it kinda screwed up my calendar.
- 2022-10-17Hi.. im having my 3rd csect in Apr 2023. Subsidised patient in Kkh. Anyone have any idea if i could do a tummy tuck or liposuction together with the csect?
- 2022-10-17Hi mummies who went thru natural delivery this year, just wanna ask if any of you wear shapewear after delivery? I do have pp massage and I know there will be wrapping of the belly but I would also like to continue putting on shapewear or tights so I can get my body & legs toned back to pre-pregnancy.
Any recommendations for a good, effective and affordable shapewear for postpartum?? Not looking at Mama’s choice cuz I read reviews like it’s not really that fantastic thou it’s very affordable. I would very much appreciate your recommendations, thank you!

- 2022-10-18Hi, anyone has the same feeling?
I'm in week 15 going 16th soon. But I don't feel any pregnancy symptoms. In my first trim I lost appetite and such. Now I finally got better, but no tummy growth feel (like tummy stretch etc). Is it normal?
- 2022-10-18HI mummy, I received a call from KKH on being positive for Gardnerella Vaginalis (after having brown discharge and done a vaginal swab and was also prescribed with Utrogesta).
When I went down to the clinic, The doctor answer was like very vague , he said this is common and has no impact to the baby and even after eating, it will not be 100% cured, I can still be positive for GV. If the brown discharge is bothering me , I can eat the pills.
Then, what's the point of eating anti biotic? I am just afraid it will harm the baby.
- 2022-10-18Any mummies here went through induced labor(which week?) due to GD? Any tips to prepare for it? Can share the labor experience? #firsttimemom #firstbaby #advicepls

- 2022-10-18I had my morning sickness (mostly during night time) during my first trimester. It went away when I entered my second trimester. Now I’m at 30 weeks (third trimester) and my morning sickness appears to be back. I could not eat as freely as I did last trimester. Often having heartburn and vomiting series before bedtime. - 2022-10-18Hi mummies! My LO is turning 3 month old in a week time.
He's been waking up at 7am, and he'd be on a cycle of 45-90min wake time before crying and down for a nap for about 40-45min.
He takes about 5-6 short naps a day, bed time is between 7-830pm.
He doesn't STTN yet, wakes up for feeds 2-3x a night.
Is it OK that he takes so many short naps a day? #firsttimemom #advicepls

- 2022-10-18Second scan after 6week passed FET. Last scan 2weeks ago seen yolk sac only. Today scan show baby with heart beat. But still say it’s about 5week+ and slow heart beat. I was still put in risky stage and asked to come back two weeks later. Dr say there’s nothing much I can do. Just wait for next scan to see improvement. This is my first pregnancy. So anxious. Is any mummy experience before? Any tips for healthy baby growth? My calorie intake is about 1400/1500 cal. Now I am thinking to eat more. #firsttimemom #advicepls #firstbaby
- 2022-10-18This is a function that has not yet existed in this form before. To help from feeding the contents of the bottle too hot to your baby, NUK Premium Choice baby bottles now feature the new NUK Temperature Control Indicator. It looks like a thermometer, is located within the graduation marks and the temperature of the contents of the bottle makes it change colour. In the future, the function will help parents to achieve the optimum temperature when feeding their baby.
If the food is too hot, the normally blue indicator will turn white. Ideally, the food for feeding should have body temperature (37°C) and corresponds to the mean blue tone on the display. The new Temperature Control function is integrated in NUK Premium Choice range of bottles. This is a great function that serves as an additional check .
- 2022-10-18Hey mummies to be, just wanted to ask what vitamins are you taking or what did your gynae prescribe you with?
I saw my gynae at week 7 but she didn’t prescribe any vitamins except asking me to continue taking my folic acid.
- 2022-10-18I am currently at 28weeks pregnant. I noticed i have 2 kindoff mozzie bite on my right shoulder a week ago. And it is itchy. And then later when i took shower i looked in the mirror and i saw i had like a cluster of 20 small blister rashes like that near the mozzie bite. Initially i thought i was like whitehead and attempted to pop it and then i realised it was blister. It has been a week alr and the bumbs are still there kindoff itchy and pain there. What should i do? I been applying calamine lotion/tradition malay ointment. Hoping it would dry off. Should i see doctor or should i observe another week? I cannot apply any antifungal cream without prescription right?
- 2022-10-18I like how NouRiche is able to provide a decent variety of dishes during my confinement. The ingredients used were not stingy as well, with most meals consisting of (at least) 2 different meat. Could be the meat dish itself, or could be the meat included in the vegetable dish or soup. I’d say I have no regrets choosing NouRiche and will definitely be choosing NouRiche again for my next confinement!
- 2022-10-18Tried their trial meal and loved it which is why I went ahead to book for my confinement and didn’t regret my choice. I finished up every single dish including the rice for every meal. And I still miss the food now. Will definitely order again if I ever go for number #3。
- 2022-10-18Punctual delivery always. Portions can definitely feed more than 1 person. Money well spent!
- 2022-10-18Hi mummies, for the past 2 weeks i was grieving over my lost baby. Cut story short, I was in my 10 weeks when i get to know i had a miscarriage, will all the bleeding and clots. Went for 2 scans @ KKH, only present was empty pregnancy sac, doc says it might be 100% miscarriage but no medicine was given because she wanted me to get more scan to double confirm the miscarriage.
However today, i went for a scan, at my 13weeks, the sonographer spotted a yolk sack about 5weeks whereby my other 2 scans were only an empty sac. I am not putting any high hopes but at 13 weeks after going through all the “period kind of bleed”, now then i get to see the yolk sac.
Has anyone experienced a situation like i do? ☹️

- 2022-10-18Hi mommies, first time mom here.
My LO is 18 days old, on formula (Nan opti). He drinks 70ml every 1.5-2 hours.
There are times when he still feels hungry after the fed, and I’ll give him another 30ml.
Am I over feeding him? No spit out or vomiting tho.
It started last week, his appetite grew.
- 2022-10-18Hi, mommies. Any mommy out there that’s pregnant and covid positive before? Did you all visit the doctor? Will it affect my baby? Did you all have a healthy baby? - 2022-10-18My daughter is now 12 month old. She is generally a fussy baby. She gets upset and cranky easily. I feel like there are more days that she's in a bad mood rather than good mood. But when she's good, she's really good! It can be quite hard to please her. Lately she's been more active so when we go out, she doesn't like sitting on the pram. Before this she enjoyed being carried in her carrier but now she doesn't really like it and wants to be free. She has not started to walk but crawls well. It is very hard to manage her. Tbh, I still have breakdowns cos I can't cope and manage well. It really isn't easy. I can't help but to see how other people can manage their child well. They really make it look easy. My parents have 7 grandkids and they do agree that my daughter is slightly fussier. Also, it doesn't help that my daughter is very clingy towards me. When I'm around, she just wants me to be by her side even when she's playing independently. I don't know what to do. Some days I just feel like I'm about to go insane. Please help me.
- 2022-10-18Hi mummies, I just delivered my #1 today and was advised by PD to do metabolism and hearing test.
My hub said he felt the baby could hear us just fine and my bro said can do without. The cost isn’t cheap cuz I delivered at Mount A thus I would like to ask if these tests are necessary? Or can I do it at polyclinic after discharge so I can claim CDA?
Appreciate your input! Thanks mummies!

- 2022-10-18Hi mums, I am currently 11 weeks and since last week brushing teeth triggers really bad nausea for me, this morning it was so bad I actually vomited. Now I really dread brushing every morning and night :( Anyone here has similar experience and can share some tips? TIA.
- 2022-10-18I am 5 to 6 weeks pregnant and feeling super irritable at everyone at home including my husband, FIL who stays with us, new helper, and my children when they dont listen. I am annoyed by their actions and bad habits I see everyday and having to mother everyone and nag even when they are already adults.
I want to get away but I feel it will only be temporary. I try to be positive and forgiving but I cannot. Talked to them but still everyday there will be some form of annoyance they create to annoy.
I feel super tired too working office hours and travelling to and fro at peak hours. My body muscles are sleeping and not ready for this pregnancy.
I feel so depressed and tired. I want to feel happy about my pregnancy but my surroundings are too annoying 24/7. I am not exaggerating.
Any ideas how to destress, calm down and be a loving person again and stop hating everything and everyone? I want to have a healthy mind and pregnancy but find it hard. I also worry if i will have any pregnancy complications due to my age 36 and my existing health conditions.
I already have abit of subchorionic hematoma seem on ultrasound few days ago.
It stresses me out to wait another month before the next appt.

- 2022-10-18As the pandemic continues to evolve and flue virus spreading together will tonnes of other diseases like EBV, I’m concerned for my newborn. How can I tell visitors that they should only visit if they’re well, and I will be providing masks and hand sanitizer as they will be expected to be in mask and have their hands sanitized at all times when they are near my baby and myself? And also, how do I tell visitors that I’m not comfortable with them holding my baby or kissing him? I don’t want to hurt the feelings of my visitors. I do appreciate them taking time to visit, but I feel I need to take these precautions just in case. Or am I thinking too much?

- 2022-10-19Is small clumpy light yellowish/faint greenish discharge from vagina normal during pregnancy? Dont really have bad odour. Does not cause any pain when urinating or after having intercourse. No burning sensation or swelling or redness of vaginal. Does not cause any blood discharge or anything. Just that the discharge is not watery/stretchy kind. Just clumpy. Is it harmful or harmless for baby. Have not seen doctor cause no other symptoms/pain which comes with it. In need of advice. - 2022-10-19Since I started 2nd Trimester, I began vomiting over slightest things. I lost appetite and can’t seems to digest the food. Dinner time is the worst and I end up skipping dinner frequently.
Sleeping time is also challenging coz I keep having the urge to empty my bladder although I drink less at night. To make things worse I feel that my chest is so tight/ narrow that it’s so difficult for me to breathe. Any tips / remedies to share with me? 😔
- 2022-10-19Does anyone know if the husband is allowed into the ADC room for the detailed scan? Having mine soon! Just wondering.
- 2022-10-19I like NUK Wipes which are bigger in size and are thicker. No worries of wipes tearing during diaper-changings and dirtying our hands. Also useful for cleaning hands and surfaces that we come into contact.
- 2022-10-19The bottles are made in Germany and we can be assured of good quality. And this added feature of temperature control helps to reduce chances of feeding baby with too hot liquid.
- 2022-10-19When I was pregnant with my 1st, I stayed with my in laws. They were happy that I was pregnant their 1st grandchild, however they don’t bother caring about my well being. They don’t ask how’s my pregnancy is like, whether I’ve eaten well or not, I just felt like a total stranger in the house. But when my 1st is born, they carry him highly telling everyone that he’s is grandson. I felt so disheartened and taken aback. I felt like without me carrying him for 40 weeks he won’t exist in this world.
Now that I’m pregnant my 2nd, I decided to stay with my parents. With my parents I’m well taken care of. Recently we went holiday with my in laws, unfortunately I feel terribly sick. I was not eating well and so worried about my pregnancy, but they don’t even ask about me, at all! I was so sad. All they do is play with my 1st but also never feed and take care of him properly. During the trip I felt so depressed and helpless.
Sometimes I don’t know how to react towards them. All I care is about my well being right now. But I just feel overprotective over my kids cause they don’t care about me when I’m pregnant carrying their grandkids. But when they’re born they think they’re the best. Anyone felt the same way as I do? How should you then react? 😔

- 2022-10-19I've engaged Nouriche for my post partum meals for both of my pregnancies. As I like how appetising their menu are. But they aren't as generous in their servings as compared to back in 2019. Still no harm giving it a try.

Would like to hear some feed back from parents. Thanks!

- 2022-10-19Hi mummies, i have been advised by Gynae and my mum to work till birth as I do not have much complications apart from pelvic pain, fatigue and insomnia. I've requested for maternity leave only from week 39 onwards but I am starting to regret this as I can barely work and focus these days. My workplace is also very toxic and I am afraid to "drop ball" from now till maternity fearing that people will complain etc (which I am sure they already have behind my back as I have been avoiding f2f meetings as much as possible since week 33) #firsttimemom #advicepls

- 2022-10-20Is this normal? My boy keeps scratching his thighs folds until they bleed. I always made sure to keep his nails short and made him wear airy pants (those with holes yknow) though I don't let him wear shorts. But he always manage to scratch them even from outside the pants til they bleed.
He doesn't scratch all day but usually 2-4 hours after shower and playing, he'll start feeling itchy maybe and will be on scratching spree.
Sometimes at night he scratches too hard and cry. It worries us especially when they bleed.
These days he starts to scratch his armpit folds.
He doesn't have bumps or clear rashes on the folds but I don't know why they are so itchy for him.
I've tried 100% Aloevera gel, Lovera (brand) and Drapolene. So far we are on Drapolene and it works okay but I'm worried if there's any side effects like dry skins or scars etc. I am also weighing in problems like eczema etc but we have not seen a doctor.
He is still scratching even on Drapolene.
Anyone facing this issue? Can recommend a good product for this if any? Thanks in adv.
^photos are current condition. No bleeding for these areas. We did our very best to air it after every diaper wash and change before applying drapolene.#firsttimemom #advicepls #firstbaby

- 2022-10-21My 8 month old caught hfmd from my 2.5yo for the THIRD time. He has many ulcers on his throat n a fever. He doesn't go to IFC but his sister attends CC.
My 2.5yo only has some blisters on her hands n feet, no ulcer or fever which I'm thankful for.
My 8mo was hospitalised twice due to the previous HFMD period, 1st was due to him being only 2mo n 2nd was due to dehydration. He had to have a NG tube put in. I'm really dreading this as I don't wish for him to have to go back to the hospital again 🥴 He's still drinking milk as of now but his intake has definitely dropped. I gave fever meds too. Is there anything I can do to help him feel better? He's also extra extra cranky whenever he's sick.
- 2022-10-21Hi mamas, I am facing extreme stress from work recently and I am sooooo close to giving up..
My boss came to me and 'assumed' that my family is asking me to rest more so my work is affected??
The fact is... ever since i got pregnant i haven't taken any MC.. never request for additional wfh .. i continue working after hours and over time(work till 1/2am once).. i never slack and sometimes skip meals(i know is bad but i snack)
Not only that but my workload has increased alot along with the responsibilities that comes with it...
I feel quite discriminated even though boss is a women? unsure why she wil say that to me...
She often say that during her pregnancy she could still do alot of stuff out of the norm that pregnant women usually do?(like climbing, carrying)
At this point i really want to quit my job but my husbands pay definitely cannot sustain the family, house and bills..
I am unsure what to do apart from 'tahan-ing'

A happy baby is a healthy baby. Some babies have a healthy baby weight, while some babies take healthy baby food, but they might get sick too often. Are you worried about how to get a healthy baby ?

👩- My baby has frequently runny nose and cough...
👩💼- Prevention; to encourage hand hygiene as part of play, this way it does not take away your baby’s joy of childhood. I would strongly recommend completing her vaccinations. Having a well balanced diet makes a difference for the little ones too.
Remedies for the common cold in our climate and weather include symptomatic relief such as a humidified room or dust-free environment can help lessen your baby’s exposure to elements that would lead to the common coughs and cold. There are common over-the-counter medications that can provide symptom relief for them too, without causing reliance or harm.
👩 - My daughter has febrile seizure.
👩💼 - Febrile seizures are seen in children less than 6 years old, because the brain has yet to mature and fully develop. During an illness or fever, their-yet-to-mature system can lead to seizures.
Most seizures are short and will stop spontaneously. It is important to remain calm and lie the child on a flat surface, having their head turned to the side.

- 2022-10-21Really appreciate that PlayFACTO School has inculcated positive education/psychology into its curriculum. With the growing number of children facing psychological wellness challenges these days, including ways to create resilient, happier children is the way to go!
- 2022-10-21Super fun & engaging curriculum and there's always something new and exciting. From Roblox to Minecraft and now they are including Drones as well!
- 2022-10-21I love the emphasis on positive education as happy children do better in life. I also really like their focus on creating a fantastic student care environment for the children.
- 2022-10-21So in love with the homely interior, with cosy reading corners, cafe-style dining and spacious well-ventilated classrooms. Students truly get to unwind comfortably after a whole day in school. Their meals are also nutritious and healthy and meals don't repeat twice in a month! Also love that the curriculum emphasises on positive education to equip every student with important life skills such as optimism & resilience.
- 2022-10-21Having fun while learning is the best way to learn, and integrating games such as Minecraft and Roblox into the curriculum will have a huge positive effect on the children's learning.

- 2022-10-21Nice confinement food, well balanced the diet. Suit my taste. I don’t have constipation problem taking their food like my first confinement period. Portion is large enough. Sometime need my husband’s help to finish it. He loves the food too. Strongly recommended.
- 2022-10-22If you can afford it, Odyssey preschool is a great place for your kid to get a good first start in life.
The school follows an Reggio Emilio philosophy, which means it is child-led.
I have a whole lot of friends who send their kids here and they really love it. We did not end up sending our kid here as we wanted a school with animals and stronger focus on STEM.
Cons:
- expensive
- not strong on primary 1 immersion, ie more suitable for international school kids
- 2022-10-22Do we purposely eat more to gain weight during pregnancy ? Or as per usual pre pregnancy?
- 2022-10-22My daughter is currently 8 months old, wife and I are intending to bring her for our vacation in a month's time; COVID has grounded us for long, and both of us felt that we shouldnt continue grounding ourselves further with our daughter as an excuse (that is unfair for her). We wanted to bring her to several overseas infant/parenting cafe that allows playdates!
So: we are taking flight and we would want to get airplane earplug that would be comfortable for infants. Appreciate recommendations that your child worn and whether it works for airplane pressure.

- 2022-10-2237yo and diagnosed with premature ovarian failure. Anyone had similar experience and still managed to conceive?
- 2022-10-22My mil likes to give my 4yo fruits at 8.30pm or later. Whenever she offers my child fruits after 8.30pm my husband would tell her not to, but the next day she tries doing it again. I do not know why she insist on doing it despite us telling her not to do it bcz its near my child’s sleeping time and we do not want my child eating fruits so late. When she offers my child fruits at 8.30pm and we say no then my child will be upset and she will say “They don’t allow you to eat”. Recently she even answered my husband “Will it be so serious till it will affect your child’s sleep if she eats fruits late?”
She also likes to feed my child snacks at 5.30pm when my child just comes home from childcare, bcz she says my child is hungry. We told her not to do it bcz my child will not have appetite for dinner if she have snack so near dinner time. She insist on doing it and said as long as child is eating, but our point is we rather the child eats more for main meal than snack.

- 2022-10-22I heard that hand/leg cramps are common in third trimester. What about the first trimester? I'm in my 11th week n it's been hard to sleep on days when I have this cramping or stretching/pulling feeling on my hand and leg (since about week 7). Since yesterday noon, my fingers started cramping n pulling and it's not going away.
Wondering if this is normal and if there's any remedy? I applied some ru yi oil on my fingers so heat can slightly mask the cramping feels. Also not sure if it's safe to use ru yi oil cos some of my friends said not to.

- 2022-10-22Hey mummies!
I have PCOS and definitely my period is irregular. I know for regular, you would base the week of pregnancy on your LMP. In my case, how will we determine the weeks of pregnancy? I had my 2nd tvs earlier, and still no heartbeat. If i’m going to based it on when we “did” it, i feel like im only 5-6 weeks now. Help #firstbaby #firsttimemom
