- 2024-01-01Hi, my baby is 5+months old but still wakes up at least once during midnight to feed and can't sleep through the night. Usually sleeps around 7pm-ish and wakes up at 7am.
Recently for the last few days, he wakes up twice midnight for feeding.
His feed now is 130ml, every 3 hourly. I thought of increasing his feed to 150ml, every 4 hourly.
Need advice on this? Any mummy can help? #pleasehelp #advicepls
- 2024-01-01I have a hard time whenever i go out of my house. I try to limit because people are so rude especially in Singapore. They literally ignore my belly knowing that im pregnant. Refuse to give way when walking and some even just bump into you knowing I need more space. #rant
What are some experiences you mummies have and do you say or do anything to them?
- 2024-01-01Hi mommies, recently I notice my baby will move the moment I am awake if I sleep on my left.. however if I wake up on my right, my baby doesn’t move and only move gradually when I turn to my left like warming up.. usually his kicks are hard and strong ..

- 2024-01-01This is great for morning sickness mummies. As brushing teeth will easily trigger the vomiting . At least using mouth wash rather than no brushing teeth. At least mouthwash can kill germs too.
- 2024-01-01Hi, i am 5 weeks postpartum and exclusively pumping.. is it normal for breasts and nipples to always feel sore and tender 24/7 even after draining the breasts cleanly? Flange size is correct per recommended by LC and pump suction is comfortable..

- 2024-01-01Hi there, We are expecting our second one next year and looking to do the confinement at confinement center in JB. Anyone can share their experience, tips, guide and recommendations?
Mainly our concerns are
1) How to expedite newborn passport process?
2) How to get our way there and anything to look out for?
3) If we need to come back sg for checkup during the 28 days, what's the process like?

- 2024-01-01Inconvenience as I had to purchase 3 extra Legoland tickets for my family in advance just to utilise theAsianParent one ticket giveaway.
Moving forward, winners should be provided with contact numbers of both theAsianparent as well as other party (in this case, Legoland) for contact in case of emergency such as this.
In 2022, my family of 4 was already queuing at Theme Park admission ticket window 1 at approximately 10am to collect the ticket. They could not find my free ticket. Neither was I able to contact Prichelle of theAsianParent at the time.
My entire family of 4 had to wait for approximately 2 hours until well after 12noon before Legoland finally allowed me access to the 3 parks.
As such, instead of having 8 hours to enjoy the parks, my family of 4 had less than 6 hours!
Coupled with the fact that it was raining intermittently that day, this was the first time we could not complete all the rides in the Legoland Park even though we had no alternative but to give Legoland Water Park a miss. Note that we have been to Legoland close to 10 times in the past and had always been able to complete all the rides even during the holidays.
No compensation for inconvenience by Legoland or theAsianParent.

- 2024-01-01My daughter been vomitting her milk for 2 days and been cranky for 2 days barely even sleep during night may I know what should I do?
- 2024-01-02Hi mummies, my baby is currently 4.5 months and has been drinking significantly lesser ever since his 4 months vaccination appointment 2 weeks ago. He used to drink between 180-200ml per feed (5 feeds a day), but is currently only drinking about 120-160ml of breastmilk per feed.
We were reading up and his signs seem like it was feeding aversion as he would cry when he sees the bottle and when placed in a feeding position. But this has not happened in the past 1-1.5 weeks, and he would just push the bottle away signifying that he is done with his feed, and we would also not force him to continue. However, since his total daily volume is quite low, we’re still quite concern about this.
Are there any mummies out there who’s experiencing the same thing with their baby as well? Thank you.

- 2024-01-02Hi Mummies,
My boy is 9 months old and I have noticed that he drinks less amount of milk as compared to previously. Is it because he likes solids more ?
Curious to know that from what age babies start to show more and more interest in food and drink less milk ? This would also be a cue for me to wean off pumping hence looking for advise.
Any mummies who experienced this ?

- 2024-01-02Hi hi! would like to seek advise from fellow mommies..
How often do you count kicks or feel the kicks?
When I wake up, my baby will kick so I will count 1 set .. then I will doze off and 2 hours of nap again, my baby will starting kicking enough for me to count another set.. and throughout the day I feel the kick quite obvious on and off despite all movement and activities including walking.
During the night, I will be able to count a set as well at a certain time.
I am a first time mom, I don’t know if I am thinking too much but is it normal ? Is my baby ok? Is it sign of ADHD? I am starting to overthink …
- 2024-01-02Is it normal for period after giving birth to be irregular? Like 2 months after start of period back is regular then start to be irregular back etc anyone encounter same.
Keep giving me pregnancy scare and i keep taking pregnancy test even when i know itll be negative. Im 4 months pp
- 2024-01-02I know different people may have different growth pace but it goes get stressful when people around comment that “you don’t look pregnant” “your tummy look small must eat more” cos my tummy is not as obvious as the other preg mothers.
Comments like this make me worry in between my appts.. my last appt was at week 16 and the next will be in another weeks time. Doesn’t help when there’s so many information out there about stillborn etc which can’t be detected until scan
Anybody encountered similar and how do you deal with it?
- 2024-01-02My child is turning 7 months next week. For the past 2 night, she would wake up around 3am and cry. Me and my husband would feed her milk, after feeding she start to be sleepy. So we put her down and pat her. After few mins she will start crying again. We are not too sure if she's teething or maybe just a tummy ache. We literally have no idea why she started to cry again. Beforehand, we already changed her diaper. When she cry, she only wants me to carry her. We also tried so many things to calm her down but only succeed when she felt tired. Does anyone know why? Hope I'm able to get answers here😭

- 2024-01-02FTM here... and is almost 8 months pregnant already. Everyday still thinking what should I be preparing for my pregnancy bag to bring to the hospital. Kindly share what is the more essential items to bring along and what to prepare for confinement use as well. Thank you!
- 2024-01-02A father willing to see his only child send to orphan care.
I guess he an awesome father.
Just 2 weekends take care my child which is he want to bring home to see his parents now become my request. It was humorous.
It so hard to being a women need to work and same time take care family. Is so hard to work as a mother to many commitment to send & pick child from childcare. To take urgent leave, sick leave and annual leave for child need when he sick not able to school. Same time need to meet employer KPI. In fact lousy worker to my boss. I cannot juggling work and child in same time.
Appreciate if any work can recommend me. I appreciate gov help to promote more childcare leave for mother.
During pregnancy I cooked meal for his families. No appreciated.
During confinement in-law ask me $2k due to my confinement ingredient had spent her money. I ask her to take from her beloved son.
I’m the always main carer to my son. From he born to now 3.5yo. Sick I carry. Even after surgery I continue to breastfeed my son and handle baby need.
After move out to BTO, this man usually words abuse or shouting or crazy. Laid down and screen time with his phone.
Today he text me send his only begotten son to orphan care.
My heart really numb from all this. I feel upset that I don’t know how much my son take from him today. And I was so helpless sitting in office chair and unable to help my son. Feeling so sorry to my son.

- 2024-01-02Hi I was told that I have higher risk of developing preeclampsia, and was given aspirin to consume until 36 weeks. I researched that pre eclampsia always lead to preterm babies, and usually babies are smaller and have some birth defects- like heart issue, developmental delay etc. we are very worried. Does anyone have normal babies with preeclampsia? Please share.
- 2024-01-02I hope i wont get bash, just wanted a channel to let out my feelings and hope im not the only one feeling like this. Im an overthinker and overworrying person to the point it will affect my daily life and appetite etc.
I went thru csection 5 months ago, im using protection when doing sex as i dont wish to be pregnant anytime soon. I do track my period and ovulation closely both using app and ovulation kit.
However im always so so paranoid that ill be the unlucky one to get pregnant accidentally. And every single end of cycle, before start of “expected” date of period i would be so extremely paranoid if my period will come or not and i keep testing pregnancy kits, both the lines one and digital clearblue, for 2 days atleast. Altho it says not pregnant and negative for all cycles. I would still do it regularly every single month/cycle.
Dont tell me to abstain from sex or anything, just wanted to know if im the only one like this (‘:

- 2024-01-02Hi mummies, any reviews on MOE kindergarten school for k1 and k2? Isit much more better then normal preschool/childcare? Because i saw like alot of other kids school at MOE kindergarten for k1 but before this they was schooling at other preschool like My first school, chilten house and etc.
- 2024-01-02Is it safe to use 2nd hand Spectra S1 breast pump given by my colleague? I have politely declined, but she brought the pump to office today for me.
Of course I would have to buy brand new accessories such as the tubes and flanges.
- 2024-01-02Before giving birth I never thought I would love my baby - he is just another stranger to me. I even hoped baby loves dad more so dad would have to do everything so I can rest.
But after giving birth I have this irrational jealousy towards everyone hogging my baby, and jealousy towards anyone baby laughs and smiles to, especially if baby didn't smile as much with me. Now I even fear that what if my baby grows up to hate me because I nag at him a lot or if I am a bad parent. What should I do...

- 2024-01-02Hello mummies!! I just discovered I’m carrying twins! and this is my 3rd pregnancy (AKA my 3rd/4th kids!) I’m so shocked and anxious at the same time. I heard twin pregnancies would need Csect and usually deliver pre-term. I’m at TMC now but might need to reconsider my options in view of the high likelihood of the babies admitting to NICU for a few weeks. Any past experience and recco pls? And any possibilities for natural birth, cos my past 2 pregnancies were all natural. Pretty bumped that this is gonna be Csect :(
- 2024-01-02Hi any plus sized mummy out there ?
Would like to know your weight gain at 30 weeks..
I have gained 3.4KG at week 30 and baby was measured at 1.2KG at week 28z
I wonder if I am on the right track or should I be worried because it seems like my weight has dropped a little…
I have GD thus I also cut down on carbo and sweets, I wonder if that could contribute to me losing weight.. but still I am worried 😫#pleasehelp #advicemommies #firsttimemom

- 2024-01-03Hi mummies, would like to ask, my baby starting to gain a little mini weight, like only few grams, and his normal milk intake seems to not be sufficient for every 3 hrs anymore. He would also sometimes cry after milk. He would already cry for milk every 2.5hrs, do i need to increase the amount ? Or just stick to feeding every 2.5hrs same amount? If increase by how many ml?
Idk to follow back of tin or not. It says 3-4 months 120ml, he’s 3.5m. And fully formula fed
- 2024-01-03Especially for mummies using phillips avent bottle(not anti colic).
When did you transition your baby’s 125ml bottle to the next size, 260ml?
My 3months old drinking 120ml every 3hrs but recently he tend to cry for milk every 2.5hrs and seems like the current intake is not sufficient as he would cry after milk also. Thought of increasing to 130ml or so.
However, avent’s next size bottle is 260ml (‘: (‘: and its sooo tall. Like very bulky. Especially if we need to bring to IFC or out. That made me think twice about increasing his intake. I dont wish to change bottle brand as he’s already very familiar with this brand and teat.
He’s so little yet the bottle so big. Just wondering at which month did your baby surpass the 125ml intake and bottle
- 2024-01-03I have psoriasis but before this it is only on skin.
I’m 30 weeks pregnant with all kinds of pregnancy symptoms this time.
I’ve been having daily pain & ache on my left shoulder & elbow when i’m not using my arms to do any work. So it is bad when my arm is idling while i do my office work (reading tonnes of emails)
Anyone else with similar profile to mine? How do we know it is pregnancy related or psoriasis arthritis?
What can be done to alleviate the discomfort & pain?
Are we allowed to take anarex? But i cannot take this daily so other solutions welcomed:)

- 2024-01-03Hi mummies, happy new year! I just found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant and am feeling very nervous about what's to come.
I'm overwhelmed, unsure about which hospital or gynae to choose. Currently referred to KKH, I'll have my first appointment in 2 weeks but plan to switch to the private route after 12 weeks.
My husband was a big baby (4kg), and I'm quite petite, so I'm mentally preparing for a possible c-section in the future.
My questions are:
1) Is it okay to switch to the private route at KKH after 12 weeks? How many weeks are considered acceptable? I'm also considering the private route at TMC.
2) For those who delivered via c-section at KKH/TMC private, how was your experience?
3) Please recommend your gynaes and share what you loved about them.
Thank you so much!

- 2024-01-03How do people cope with raising a kid without extra help? My in laws asked me to do all the night feedings as my husband is working and needs to rest well at night. But in the day, it’s also me taking care of baby, feeding the baby, washing bottles, pump, wash baby’s clothes, do housework. When husband comes back after work, he is tired, so he takes a nap and only help with maybe one feeding. And my in laws still expect me to cook dinner every night for my husband because outside food is not as nutritious. I feel like I’m always busy the entire day. Doesn’t help that my mil likes to pop by, see the baby (not help to feed or bathe etc), and then comment “Aiyo why your floor so sticky? You need to ensure that the house is clean because now you have a baby.”, or “Aiyo why you haven’t bathe the baby yet? (It’s only like 11am in the morning. I also need to rest and settle my own breakfast?) Why her cheeks got rashes, you never clean properly?” So many comments that makes me so stressed everytime she pops by. People say “sleep when the baby is sleeping!”, but it’s easier said than done. When the baby sleep, it’s time for me to pump and do housework. Sigh… I don’t even know how things will be like when my maternity leave ends. I’ve been crying so much whenever I think about it. Anyone can share their experiences? #pleasehelp #advicepls #firstmom

- 2024-01-03I'm in my first tri now, around 5 weeks pregnant. I find myself hungry even after dinner, not sure if I should be having supper? Or healthier to stick to 3 meals per day and stop eating after dinner? Thank you!
- 2024-01-03My husband's super curious, because I showed him today how certain genres of music makes our baby move, and he spent the last 30min testing it out, and concluded our baby like dance music. She also reacts to strangers talking, if we have guests over the whole day, she moves the whole day. On days where it's just us, she's chill and only moves at meal times. We've tested this theory out over Christmas and New Years when we had different groups of friends over, and it's all the same - she moves the entire time our guests were over. Do I have a kaypoh baby 😂 any mums realized their baby's similar reaction?

- 2024-01-03Any advice? Or do I need to put him in another room?
He will start sleeping ard 10pm, then wake up every 2 - 3 hours in the motn to feed(e.g 12am, 3am, 6am, 9am). I will breastfeed him to sleep then put him back in his bassinet. Sometimes he poops and wakes up.
- 2024-01-03First time mum here. Feeling very anxious now because I saw on a reel on IG about ‘container baby syndrome’ saying that it is harmful to let baby be in a carrier or rocker for long hours and it will delay their physical development, cause flat head etc.
My baby is 3.5 months old and since 1 month old, I have been letting him nap on the rocker in the day, or in the carrier if he needs to be held. Did I make a mistake and cause harm to my baby? 😭 In fact, he does have a little flat head and hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to roll. I’m worried it’s because I let him sleep in rocker and carrier…
Any babies who sleep in rocker or carrier for long hours and turned out fine? I feel so bad as a mum and I need assurance 😭
- 2024-01-04Hi mummies, anyone of you experienced before your LO's toys randomly go off by itself when no one is playing it? Mine happened yesterday and it freaks me out! #firsttimemom
- 2024-01-04Ftm here. My 3.5months after coming back from ifc, we placed him on his changing mat on the bed, on his back, suddenly he rolled/flipped his whole body to his left and on to his tummy, however as his neck is still not strong, he’s not able to lift it to “tummy time” position. Do i let him be for a few minutes before turning his body back to the back position or just let him be ? And yes he’ll be highly supervised infront of us.
Does this mean that he’ll learn to flip to tummy soon? Or not necessarily
- 2024-01-04When you are travelling with a bottle fed baby, how do you sterilise the bottles after use if theres no access to steriliser and dont wish to use the sterilisation tablet due to the smell and maybe baby taste.
Can i just use using baby bottle soap and use hot water ? Do i need to soak the bottle in the hot water for few minutes or just roughly wash the bottle with hot water will do?
And for soaking bottle with hot water what do you use to soak it with ? Since theres no bowl or anything

- 2024-01-04Is it normal for 4 months old baby to wail about 1-5mins before he falls asleep? My baby cries badly whenever I put him on bed to nap or even when I carry him to pat. He will eventually fall asleep but he will cry before that. Can see he is tired because he started yawning, rubbing eyes. Is it because he is overtired? I thought it was because he is overtired hence the cries so I tried to put him to nap once I see him yawn but he still cries the same. My heart breaks when I see him cry like this every time before nap or bedtime sleep. Any insights? :(

- 2024-01-04Hi mummies,
My 9 month old boy doesn’t want to put food in his mouth on his own. He loves to eat when I feed him or somebody else feeds him but he doesn’t want to put food in his mouth by himself.
I feel very guilty and bad that I didn’t do baby led weaning the beginning when he started solids as with full time work it is very difficult. Will my joy never eat on his own or eventually babies learn to eat on their own?
Sorry to sound like this but this is my first baby so I am a bit worried. Any mummies who experienced this can give me some tips please ?

More of nail clippers, lotions, baby safe laundry detergent, etc..
Am welcoming my little one in March and thought to use the cdc vouchers to shop for infant stuff.

- 2024-01-04Hi mommies. I currently have a 3.5 year old toddler and a newborn due this month. I took my helper a year plus ago because I was going back to work. But within 6 months I got pregnant and quit my job too. So since my pregnancy I’m at home. Was thinking of going back to work once my newborn turns 1. But now as the day approaches I keep having 2nd thoughts bout going back to work. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my baby full time at home for my helper to tc. 1) I don’t want my baby to become attached to her 2) don’t think she can learn much from my helper 3) I already don’t feel too happy bout how she is with my toddler in terms of being too attached to him. I talked to my husband bout it, saying I am not keen to go back to work, I rather stay at home to tc of the house n children n cancel off the helper: he thinks I’m not capable of handling both housework n taking care of kids. But I want to. I mean that’s what moms are for right? I already feel like I have no privacy at home with a helper around, I miss how things were without a helper. My children’s room is currently occupied by her. I feel like with her around I can never do my kids room the way I want because I need to facilitate to her needs. I just miss my house being my house. Without a full time job I’m still capable of having some income as I’m a freelance photographer. I do events on weekends. I would still be able to contribute to the household income. Husband’s salary is ok to run family too. Ofc without having to pay for helpers salary and levy every month we would have an extra amount on our hands too. My husband says see how.. see if I can handle two kids .. but I have really made up my mind to be the full time caretaker for my upcoming baby too.. like legit I don’t feel comfortable leaving my baby with her to go work . I don’t think my mind will ever be at ease. How do I hint to my helper that I might be letting go of her before baby turns 8-10 months. ?? She’s abit too attached to us , as much as I like her I don’t want to keep her. She abit too attached to us like.. yes we consider her family but at the end of the day she’s not., she’s replaceable.. how do I tell her that I have decided to stay home to tc of kids full time n I wish to let go of her??

- 2024-01-05Alcohol is not safe for babies. It causes brain and behavioral delays and interrupts with the chemical reactions of medicine and supplements.
A misconception has been spread around that it's OK to take alcohol-added food because alcohol evaporates away while cooking. If it really fully evaporates away, then why not don't add it in the first place?
As it is, most likely 40% of the alcohol remains in the food. And no amount of alcohol is safe for babies.
"The longer you cook, the more alcohol cooks out, but you have to cook food for about 3 hours to fully erase all traces of alcohol. A study from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Nutrient Data lab confirmed this and added that food baked or simmered in alcohol for 15 minutes still retains 40 percent of the alcohol."
If an alcohol-infused herbal soup has been simmered with a "cover" for 3 hours, chances are that the alcohol did not escape. Similarly, the stir fry fish cooked in cooking wine probably wasn't cooked for 3 hours to fully evaporate the alcohol.
"There is no acceptable amount of alcohol that is considered safe for children. Children metabolize alcohol faster than adults. This means that even a small amount of alcohol can lead to higher blood-alcohol concentrations. This can lead to low blood sugar, coma, and problems regulating body temperature."
Alcohol relaxes the body which boosted my breast milk supply significantly but no I'm not going to feed my baby breastmilk that contains alcohol.
If you drink a (ONE) cup of wine, please wait at least 3 hours before breastfeeding. While most website suggests waiting 2 hours for the body to metabolise the alcohol, metabolism is actually a curve (less alcohol in the blood over time) rather than a fixed cut off (2hrs) so there is alcohol in the breastmilk after 2 hours. If more than 1 glass was drank, it will take longer to metabolise.
"The alcohol level in breast milk is essentially the same as the alcohol level in a mother’s bloodstream."
"One study suggests that the amount of alcohol that a baby will get through breast milk is approximately 5-6% of the weight-adjusted maternal dose"
"A small study explains that babies slept for 25% less time after exposure to small amounts of alcohol in breast milk. And while breastfed babies may become drowsy and fall asleep more quickly after their mother drinks alcohol, they also sleep for a shorter amount of time." And are more irritable.
It is quite common for restaurants and maybe even confinement meal caterers to marinate ingredients in alcohol so be sure to find out from the waiter before ordering. And do request for strictly no alcohol in the marination and cooking of your confinement meals, unless you are not breastfeeding.
There are alternate ways to boost milk supply without risking the baby. Please share your non-alcoholic breastfeeding tips in the comments. It will help us, the breastfeeding mummies a lot!

- 2024-01-05Hi working mummies, altho my baby is still in infant care, i would like to know in advanced for my own future knowledge so i can plan.
Both me and husband working 8-6pm. I only know from infant care - N2 they operate 7am - 7pm. Which is still doable for us, working parents. Main caregiver, no extra helping hands.
After N2 is kindergarten?
Will pcf auto promote kids from N2 to kindergarten and whats the operating hours like? Is it still 7am - 7pm? If no, how did you plan for your child to be taken care of once school finish if its still your working hours.
Same goes to primary school. Once school finish, whats the alternative care while waiting for parents to end work to fetch them?

- 2024-01-05I am so stressed when putting baby to sleep at night. Baby can't stay asleep without his arms being swaddled. But these days he has found his hands and would want to suck his hands whenever he wants to sleep. So everytime I force his arms into the swaddle but he keeps screaming. Even if I managed to swaddle him, he would fight it and manage to pull his hands out to suck. I could try to swaddle him up to an hour! Today after 1 hour I gave up and let his arms out and he can't sleep! I have to use his pacifier (what's the point of sucking his hands?!) and he falls asleep but wakes up after a short while. 😑 I am so stressed. I can't do this everyday.

- 2024-01-06Hi mommies. Currently have a maid, but considering of letting her go in 8 months or so. I currently don’t have a dryer or dishwasher. Using a top load washing machine then manually drying clothes outside , and handwashing all the pots n plates. Since I’m letting go of my helper in 8 months, and being full time at home I’m considering getting a dryer and dishwasher to help me with my chores.
I already have a 3.5 year old toddler and newborn coming this month.
Can pls recommend good model dishwasher + a dryer. I’m using a top load Samsung washing machine. Something that is affordable, energy saving too. Thank you !!
