i want to be educated on how to cope with more than 2 kids without external help. that would make me want more kids. I always wanted more kids but I just can't figure how to cope/care for them without external help. After my ex-helpers cause serious food poisoning, pests in the house etc. I just can't depend on them, and prefer to go without a helper. Things like ready cut vegetable & meat packs from grocery stalls will be helpful as I don't want my kids to eat out / tingkat (don't know how fresh/any msg/alcohol added). however, ready cut vegetables and meat aren't available at the grocery near me. it would help save preparation time. yummy healthy meal recipes that can be bulk cooked, frozen and reheated is good too. affordable school buses from childcare that drops off the kids at home is useful too. otherwise I have to pick up kids of different ages from 2-3 locations. and cook meals at home after picking them up, it's too tiring especially during pregnancy morning sickness period. so far, dishwashers and robot vacuums have been great help! home layouts that are kids friendly and easy to clean also plays a role. imagine a house with an enclosed kitchen, mummy can't see what's happening to the kids when cooking/dishwashing. bus drivers being more stroller-friendly and nice to mummies would be good too. when double strollers aren't allowed on buses, how am I supposed to travel around with multiple kids? also some bus drivers leave a big distance between the road and bus, don't allow me to open the extension ramp, expect me to carry the stroller like other parents do. not all strollers are lightweight and not all mummies are muscular! then there are situations where bus driver insist I remain standing next to my empty braked stroller while I'm pregnant. it's so hard to understand their lack of humanity and warped priorities! perhaps it would help to have local standalone training centres for helpers. agencies who claim to train helpers aren't doing an up to standard job. I've had ex-helpers who wash electricity plug under water, can't buy groceries, cause serious food poisoning, frequently introducing illness to the house after offday, leave food uncovered/unsealed, let go of kids hands at traffic lights and car drop off points 😨but hold hands along normal walkways. in summary, food safety training, cross-contamination training, traffic light safety are needed for helpers. otherwise, they are just a time bomb (it's so common to see kids running about near rivers and road, away from their helpers but I guess the employers don't know because they don't see it) and causing medical situations that risks my child. (update: standalone helper training agencies probably won't work. even 1-to-1 training at home doesn't work, let alone a group training)

If you're trying to increase the birth rate (and increase sg work productivity) then have young man start work earlier (accumulate more savings, buy a house earlier to settle down). I recall my fresh grad male friends struggling to pay for dates. Perhaps NS can be partially served during school holidays, so they can start full time work earlier. Thereby lengthening their period of full time salary, gain more full time work experience, be more productive and stay more competitive in comparison to foreigners of the same age. If given a choice, would you hire a 24 year old programmer from India with 3 years of programming experience or a 24 year old Singaporean with 1 year of the same experience? Who would have more "youth energy" plus "experience" to grind through heavy load projects?
