- 2022-08-15I’m 6 weeks pregnant and I’ve been referred to NUH through polyclinic and my first appointment at NUH is at the end of the month. However, I’m aware that I’m now under subsidiary/government and there is no gynae assigned to me. Am I able to ask for just one gynae to see me throughout my pregnancy? If so, how do I go about it and what additional costs will be incurred?#pregnancy #firstbaby #pleasehelp
- 2022-08-15Hello! I'm a ftm, currently at week 39 +4. Was wondering if anyone did induction at kkh? My EDD is on 18 August, and my gynae suggested for Labour to be induced on 18th when I go for check up. Do I have to go home and wait for contractions? or will I be at the hospital straight away already? Not sure if I have to bring my hospital bag for the check up! And I heard induction of labour is usually more painful than natural labour because of the stronger and more frequent contractions 😥#advicepls #1stimemom
- 2022-08-15Hi is anyone working as an infant care teacher? I just want to ask how do you work while being pregnant. Im 26 weeks and i have gestational diabetes. Therefore i have to cutdown sugar and i get hungry easily, dietician ask me to snack healthy snacks. But the problem is i can't snacks. At 11am the teachers will start their lunch and every hour each teacher will go. So we have to be with the infants every seconds and also i can't snack infront of them as it is not hygiene and can't bring down my mask. Therefore i get headache easily. I was wondering if i could take HL till i give birth. It is really not easy for me. As alot of people like to stand at the window and look at the infants. I receive a complain before because i was snacking infront of them. #advicepls
- 2022-08-15Went for check today and realized that the baby is in transverse position. Is there any potential dangers to the baby? Gynae seems to be quite chill about it but reading the info online makes me quite anxious.. schedule for c sect next week at wk38. #1stimemom
- 2022-08-15Hi mummies, I just got my FTS final result and in high risk for DS (1 in 60).. Mainly due to my very low levels of Papp-a (0.38) and high level of HCG (2.7). Doctor said ideally is close to 1.0 for both.
I'm 29 this year, so was in the moderate risk. Because of the blood test results, it put me in very high risk for DS and advised me to do Harmony test. Nasal bone seen and NT in normal range (less than 3mm).
Any mummies can share if they went through the same type of blood level results? How was it after, what did your Dr advise and was baby born healthy? I'm so worried now :(
- 2022-08-15Hi Mummies. I am in Week 30. My appetite has bad since i got into 3rd trimester. No cravings, just sudden loss of interest towards food and eating. Nothing seems to hit my taste even my comfort food in earlier trimester or pre-preg. I will constantly feel hungry and dizzy but the thought of food, makes me nausea. Any advice how to boost up the appetite?

- 2022-08-15Hello mummies, I'm currently 23 weeks FTM. I've been feeling my baby movements and kicks since 18 weeks. And the kicks have became more visible over the past 2 weeks. Baby is very active from morning to night. Baby also kicks whenever hungry or when daddy speaks. But out of a sudden since last Friday, Baby's movements have lessen and doesn't kick as much. Maybe just 1 or 2 for the whole day. I did went to check at sgh, but Baby is fine. Heartbeat is fine. But I'm still very worried why this sudden change? I feel so uncomfortable and weird.
- 2022-08-15I’m not sure if my husband has precum when we had sex weeks ago and my period just came (after 4 days late).
A lot of pms symptoms similar to implantation bleeding. How do I know if it’s period blood or implantation?
I used HPT to test for past few days and they are all negative. #advicepls

- 2022-08-15Hello all,
I’m 38 weeks pregnant (first time) and my baby has not engaged yet, dropped in pelvis, but is in head down position.
My OBGYN (private practice) has said that we might have to go for planned c-sec. He doesn’t recommend to wait for going into labor naturally and then if required doing an emergency c-sec as it will go very expensive.
Would appreciate if anyone that has gone through similar situation share their experience.
Also for people who have gone through emergency c-sec in private hospitals, would you mind sharing the total cost including doctor’s fee? Thank you so much for help.

- 2022-08-15So I'm under a private doctor in NUH. Its my first pregnancy.
I am not not gonna name this doctor but recently my visits with her has been becoming more and more stressful.
I am in my 3rd trimester(33 weeks) baby around 2kg already and I've gained about 7kg in total throughout my pregnancy.
This doctor/ob saw my weight and was like "eh you shouldn't put on any more weight if not its difficult for the baby to come out"
And i responded & told her, my initial weight pre-pregnancy was 73kg and now I'm about 80kg. And she can evidently see physically I'm not as big as the rest during their 3rd trimester and people even think that I'm still early in my pregnancy because of my small bump and body frame but I'm already 33weeks.
I'm not fat I'm just a female personal trainer who has a muscular built (workout 6x week, and a powerlifter as well) before i was pregnant and is tall too about 5ft 8 hence My weight was always in the 70s range.
My BMI is always on the "overweight" side because duh BMI is based on height and weight of a person and is an inaccurate measure of bodyfat and does not take into account of muscle mass, overall body composition etc.
So with whatever this doctor is saying, i feel like its kind of a red flag as i asked friends who are preggy and their ob/doc encouraged them to eat and put on weight during their pregnancy.
Should i switch doctors is it too late?
- 2022-08-15Hi mommies! We started off with TW for my 13mo LO and we are in the midst of trying BLW now.
We have been feeding her porridge, brown rice/oatmeal cereal and mashed avocado previously, so she hasn't really learned how to chew yet.
She does show excitement when she sees the food tray and is willing to pick up the food and eat, but she eats very little. We will top up with FM after that as I'm afraid she will be hungry.
Any mommies been through this? Any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

- 2022-08-162 nights ago my baby refuses to drink milk. Everytime the milk bottle was placed in his mouth, he cries. His last feed was 7pm, so the next feed was supposedly 10pm. My Mum assisted but baby wouldn't stop crying. He didn't even finish the milk. And he cried the whole night and I wonder what's wrong. My parents carried him into their room and at 4.30am, they were exhausted and knocked on my bedroom door to ask for help. That night I made like 3 bottles of milk and he rejected them all. #moneygonedownthedrain #advicepls #firstbaby #1stimemom #whatsgoingon
- 2022-08-16Recently my parents always doesn't let my baby finish his milk. #moneygonedownthedrain The thing is, my baby has a habit of shaking his head during feeding time. (Actually why ah?) And my parents take that as a cue that my baby doesn't want to drink. And when they feed him, he cries. I observed that even after 15 minutes of feeding, the level of milk doesn't drop. I told them to make him finish his milk otherwise he goes hungry, or let me feed him because my baby finishes his milk when I feed. But they insist in doing the feeding themselves. They will carry my baby and walk around the room to try to feed him but it just doesn't work. When I give advice and tell them what my son prefers, my mum will snap at me and say I know nothing. #firstbaby #1stimemom #sianalready #mumdoesntlistentome

- 2022-08-16Any recommendations for pumps? I'll be expecting number 2 in Jan and am planning to breastfeed. I only managed to bf my firstborn for the first 2 weeks and then we switched to formula as I wasn't producing enough milk and the situation back then was too stressful for me to continue bf as there wasn't any privacy.
Now that we're staying in our own home, (no stress factors contributing) I really plan to bf long term.
Any advises for pumps that I should get? Also any bf advises in general (dietary , massages) ?

- 2022-08-16Being a sahm is very lonely. Most of my friends are married but they have their career.. meanwhile some are married but busy with their own family.. husbands spending quality time with them. But mine is always busy.. we rarely go out. Even when we do, it's always because he made plans with his family. But we never really go out just us.. me, him and our baby. I am really sad and depressed and lonely. Talking to him is basically just pointless as we will end up having a fight. Sometimes i feel like filing for a divorce. But i dont want to end up regretting as i still love him. I honestly just dont know what to do. I feel so worthless.

- 2022-08-17Hi. I have a 5 month old daughter and everyweek my husb and i will send our daughter over to my in laws as both of us have part time school. The thing about my in laws is that they always carry my daughter around in the house. And when she is sleeping, they will always disturb her like touching her feet, her cheek. And because of that she will wake up. The moment she woke up, they quickly carry her around. I understand she is her first grandchild but i feel annoyed that they dont give my daughter room & space. And they dont even listen to my advice to keep to her sleeping schedule. I will normally put my daughter to sleep latest by 10pm, but they will always carry and play with my daughter till 12mid -.-' i told my husb about concerns in a nice way but i feel that my husb dont like it when i voice out about this regarding his family. What should i do??
- 2022-08-17Hi all, intending to switch to private with EDD in November. Understand it’s quite late and the more “popular” doctors might be fully booked. Anyone delivered baby with Dr Ryan Lee at KKH?
- 2022-08-17I’m a FTM and I’m feeling lonely most of the time.. I have my husband with me but he goes to work at noon and I’m alone with baby. I love my baby but the feeling of loneliness just struck me when she’s sleeping.. sometimes it becomes a chore for me to care for her. I have a few friends but they are not really friends. Am I being bad? I just want people to talk to.. I can’t talk to my parents they blame me for not taking care of her well. I’m really trying my best and I always do my best for her. Am I having postnatal blues? I’m just lonely..
- 2022-08-17Very funny, everytime my father or mum feed my baby milk, he cry bloody murder and refuses to drink. Honestly, I don't know is it because he's not feeling hungry yet because they tend to feed early or he doesn't feel comfortable. I heard babies are smart even when newborn and they choose people...Now only my husband can feed my son, I can only feed him in my bedroom. If I feed him in livingroom, he cries. Weird, LOL! 🤣 #babies Anybody also have babies choosing people or you think is other factors? 😅
- 2022-08-17My baby is turning 6 month old, and he usually has a very good appetite. Yesterday and today his milk intake suddenly decreased. Of a 120ml bottle he will only drink 20ml. He doesn't seem uncomfortable, and just plays with the teat and smiles without sucking; or suck a little then tries to scramble away. We had tried varying the milk temperatures, changing location and dimness of the room. He doesn't have a temperature or bloatedness either. He just genuinely seem like he has no interest in eating. He hasn't started on solids yet. Does anyone know what may be the cause and if there's any cause for concern?

- 2022-08-17I've been having awful headaches and nausea all day. Can't bring myself to eat dinner... Was walking back from a pee break when I had a bout of intense dizziness. I was hearing loud noises (like a train passing by), shaking and drooling and suddenly I was lying down. My husband was with me and said I passed out for a few seconds and bumped my head on the cabinet. I don't remember that. Should I go to a doctor? Has anyone had similar experiences? I did manage to eat a bit of breakfast and lunch so I don't have an empty stomach but it's been ~6 hours since my last meal.

- 2022-08-17Hello mummies, any one face this problem before ?
-Yesterday went to KKH for scan (the scan is via Vagina) but the doctor mentioned that can’t see any signs of baby heartbeat . I am 6weeks + currently . But compare with the last visit scan, the baby is growing . Doctor mentioned that I might have already miscarriage .
Any possible chance that is because of baby is too small or too early to hear heartbeat yet ? Any mummies faced this problem and ended up with good news ?
- 2022-08-17Is it normal if I am having tissue discharge during 6 weeks + pregnancy ? Today I actually diarrhoea for 4 times and during the 4 times, I passed tissue discharge with no blood or anything .

Anyone with similar experiences can share how you manage the nosebleeds apart from pinching nose to stop the bleeding when it happens? TIA! #worriedfirsttimemom
- 2022-08-17Hello! Mummies, anyone here had used Clarins Treatment Oil consistently (every single day like from 3/4 weeks pregnant to till delivery AND yet still get stretchmarks? Wonder if it’s really worth to get another bottle as I have finished 1 bottle and now at 22 weeks.. or just used other brands.. was told by Clarins best to finish using in 6 months. This Clarins oil really does absorbs well and smells nice!
- 2022-08-17Why are men so useless? And why everyone just finds it... NORMAL?
I WORK from home with two kids, 3yo attends childcare (but gets sick that lasts for 3 weeks and attend 4 days school kind). And though I have a helper to assist me with cleaning and the clothes and food preparation, I still find it so so difficult to cope.
There are so many deadlines to meet, meals to cook, children to entertain and take care of and not forgetting money to earn, bills to pay and tons of lists going on in my head like what to buy, who ran out of diapers, what to cook for lunch/dinner etc.
And my husband works from evening till night on weekdays and full days on weekends, so that means night routines are always handled by me.
During day time he is cooped up in his room, doing "work". Sometimes it's true he is working, most times he is just playing game and scrolling mothership news. Telling me things like oh these are intellectual stuff.
Just today my youngest fell off the bed head down at my husband's watch. And what was he doing? Playing phone game. How I know? The game was running on the screen right next to him. How many times he fell head down? Third time already.
Seriously.. How to work from home like this?? And I have colleagues (not married) who kept telling me oh how nice it is to work from home etc. But they dont know what lies behind the scenes.
I am so so tired. Morning I have to prep the kid, the breakfast, entertain them, do some work (if they let me - usually lasts for 30mins) and then i have to food prep, cook lunch for the family, entertain the kids again, put the kids to nap, and then food prep for dinner and before you know it, one kid decides to not nap, the other decides to wake up from his nap. By the time my kids falls deep asleep (around 10plus), I am only left with the night time to get any work done, sometimes doing till 4-5am. My line of work involves creativity, and at this point my creativity is at sub zero.
Honestly, what is the point of having a husband? What is his role? He isnt here because he has to work I understand, but what about the time and days he is here? His heart is not even here. His excuse for playing game is because he needs to relax. Then I no need to relax? May as well I raise the kids alone.
And what tops this whole cake is my mother in law's constant nagging and dismissal of her daughter in laws. She is always saying how "the mother" (aka me or my sis in law) is such a bad mom, bitch about us behind our backs (i heard mine over cctv and she bitches about my SIL in front of me), and basically just whatever we do is wrong in her eyes. If my mom comes over, or left any remnants of her being at my place, she will go crazy and start to do all sorts of funny things like throwing away my mum's stuff, telling my helper that my children's surname is the paternal side not maternal so everything must listen to her. Basically just an extremely toxic person to be with.
And she is always praising her sons, putting me down, bitch about how dirty my mum place is, saying shit about me and our place... My husband isnt any better.. Always saying why i cook so late a lunch or putting them down for nap (and he is at home... why isnt he doing it?!).
JUST SO BLOOOODY TIRED!!!

- 2022-08-18Hi all, has anyone of your helpers repeatedly asked for advance salary every month? We have had helpers for more than 2 decades and while they do ask from time to time, not to the extent of every month..
There was only one time when she borrowed more than her upcoming salary, but she paid it back (together with the next advance sum) after the following month.
Usually, amount advance is not in full, a couple of hundred. So it is under the month's pay. Reasons given are: want to loan for investments back home (most often), father sick, mother sick, sister sick, children sick.
So far with us for a slightly under 1.5 years but told us 1+ month ago she wishes to transfer as I'm due very very soon and she doesn't want to deal with a 4 yr old and a newborn baby. Work wise, a little odd, not necessarily someone who works well (always on self given break time, or on hp "secretly" while working.. does random things like keeps most of the meat/eggs for herself at any given meal and gives us bare minimum, almost mostly rice anhelper vegetables only but we are small eaters anyway so just tolerate).
Do you repeatedly allow your helper to advance her salary? Is it normal? Should we continue to allow it? Especially she will be leaving soon, should we stop? #advicepls #helper

- 2022-08-19Went for scan at 30 weeks n baby weight at 1.6kg but doctor said baby is small and its only near to average. So i ask the doctor if its just nice for size. And she said its just near not there. Im like what?
So it is really small? Should i be worry? She hope that baby will increase more on the next scan check up in a month. Honestly im about to give up already as 2 wks before at 28wk scan bby was 950g. But still not enough 😮💨

When reminded gently or reprimanded harshly, will hit others or self and start putting fingers into her mouth. (This has been ongoing for a couple of months and no matter how we coax, persuade, explain or scold, she just vent her anger and frustrations by throwing tantrums etc.)
From other posts, it seems like younger child 15 months to 20 months will tend to do that but she is already coming to 2 years old!

My spouse and I are quite petite, hence our babies are petite too. My first child was born slightly smaller than peers. When I was pregnant with my first child, if I'm 32 wks 2 days, first child by scan is 31wks.
But this pregnancy, my second child is smaller. I'm 32 wks preg, but baby is only 30 wks. My bump looks like 4-5 months preg. I have been trying to eat more meals every few hours. But I'm not gaining enough weight. My last pregnancy I gained 16 kg, this pregnancy I only gained 4 kg, lost 8kg in first tri.
Doctor say it's okay due to genes. But I'm worried. Mummies who faced similar issue, can you advise me what are some foods that I can eat so that my baby can gain weight faster? 😅
Thank you ❤️

- 2022-08-20Highly recommended. We used this every day because the morning walk is part of our routine. Also, we love playing at the pool and beach. It never dries my boys' skin and he knows how to apply it. That’s when you know you choose the right product when your little one enjoys using it.
- 2022-08-20Just perfect! My boy is already 2 and still using it. This is the only stroller we’ve got since he was a baby. Compatible with Cybex infant car seat better combo instead of having the original yoyo bassinet. And this is lightweight, and easy to fold and open. Great for traveling! Well recognized by most of the airlines! Can be stored in the overhead compartment on most airplanes. My favorite baby product since day 1 :)
- 2022-08-20This is a really handy infant car seat! That is compatible with our Yoyo stroller. The best combo ever. Both products help a lot as a first-time mum, even going out alone. These products are easy to handle and the best part was very comfy for little ones.
- 2022-08-20Comfy for both parents and baby. Easy to use and lightweight as well. And reasonable price as well. If you are a first time parent, you shoul put this on your shopping list 😉
- 2022-08-20Hello! I’m 7 weeks pregnant with my first child. And of course I’m excited so I’d just like to know if there’s any pregnancy items that you swear by or think is good to have. Body care, products, items, anything and everything! Thank you!
