- 2023-08-28I find that my confinement nanny have her own way of feeding my baby based on schedule and not by demand , which is different from what I read from the book.

- 2023-08-28I know I have to take folic acid everyday but my nausea and vomiting has gotten worse now at week 9, so some days when i am feeling really terrible I would skip my folic acid. I feel nauseous throughout the day so there isn’t really a good and suitable time where I can pop the pills.
I can eat consecutively for 2-3 days and skip a day when I dont feel well. And repeat 😅
Would like to hear from other mummies on your advises!!

- 2023-08-29Hi, jus some random ranting. I am 26 weeks pregnant and accidentally fell down on both my knees ytd night in bedroom. I didn’t hit my tummy but One of the knee was bruised and I was in shocked. I did make sure to assure my baby and checked no bleeding. But since i m a first time mom to be I am worried and tot it might be good to still see my gyane today jus to make sure baby is fine. However, this morning we called the gynae clinic and they have no Available slots to fill me in cos the gyane has full appt today and a surgery in the afternoon. I felt that they are v unfeeling and could at least squeeze in one short slot for me to do Ultrasound. They advised me to go KKH A&E though I would prefer for my own gynae at TMC to do. Nonetheless I will be going down to KKH to check, in cases like this would u think tt ur gynae clinic could have been more sensitive and help the worried mum by squeezing in a slot for us to see the gyane?

- 2023-08-29Hi moms-to-be,
Has anyone encountered issues with parents (i.e. the mom-to-be’s parents, or mother in particular)?
I’ve had a challenging pregnancy so far, and have not been able to visit my parents much. I’m mostly home bound when off work, because of how unwell I’ve felt. My mother has been largely not understanding of my bodily discomfort, rather dismissive and giving me doomsday warnings about how unstable my pregnancy is (which only makes me panic more). Additionally she’s unhappy that I haven’t visited in person, and the unhappiness shows in terms of ill-concealed barbs and passive-aggressive statements, or stonewalling me when I pushback and try to stop such passive-aggressive stuff and scare-mongering.
All these are making my mood crash, as I feel deserted by my mother during a vulnerable time when I need her (I’m a first time mom and no idea what to do with my baby, I’m really scared).
Anyone experienced the same with your own mothers and what do you do to make yourself feel better or get yourself into a better mental space?
Thank you.

- 2023-08-29My baby was born with Shoulder dystocia. She is currently in the NICU recovering due to lack of oxygen in her brain. Any parents going through or have gone through the same situation? I just need an enlightenment on the situation. How was the recovery? It's my IVF baby after 8 years of trying to conceive naturally. And it saddens me when this happens. And I can only blame my doctor for being late during my labour and delivery. I shall not name the doctor. Just hoping and praying that my daughter will recover from this.. 😭
- 2023-08-29Just kinda puzzled why some mummies have GD while some don't?
Asking this because I'll be gg on a holiday with my SIL. Both of us are pregnant, I'm on 28th wk while SIL is on 24th wk. She was just diagnosed with GD while I don't. Weirdly I'm the one with the super sweet tooth and she has been the healthy one, exercising and taking care of her diet. I've been craving for teh tarik almost everyday since 1st tri and I never curbed it but my SIL hardly eats sweet things but she has GD! So weird! Not sure if this is genetic cz my fam has no one with diabetes but my late mother in law had it. Or does it also depend on our carb intake? Cz I'm someone who hates rice while my hub's family loves it. I only eat noodle/pasta occasionally as I'm more of a meat eater. But I can never ever resist a sweet dessert/drink.
It's gg to be a holiday with lots of food and I'm gonna feel so guilty if I were to eat in front of her. Hmmmm
- 2023-08-29I’m fully breastfeeding. Just realised my LO’s poop & its not seedy. Is this normal poop or diarrhea? She is 7 weeks old.

- 2023-08-29Hi, anyone experienced coughing during confinement? Whenever i cough, my perineal area will hurt cos given birth naturally & have 1st degree tear.
Any remedies? Can take normal cough medicines? Cos confinement food are full of herbal stuffs plus a few supplements (calcium, vit D, iron & fenugreek) from hospitals too. It feels like there's too much medicine.

- 2023-08-29I am currently 8 weeks. Almost everyday I have a combination of headache, nausea and vomiting. Some days it really gets to me and I feel defeated. I am trying to do a list of food/drinks that can help me combat nausea or ideas of meals I can eat, my appetite is really poor. I also have this bitter taste in my tongue which makes drinking plain water/eating a task. Would appreciate any advice and tips on what works for you.
May I also check if I can take panadol with my morning sickness pill (metoclopramide/diclectin) on days I have both a headache and nausea?

- 2023-08-30Hi parents! My baby will be 6 month soon. So excited about starting solids (I mean me!)
What should be the first food? Purée? Or rice/oat cereal?
If purée, is it fruits or vegetable? What fruit/veg to start with? Feed purée for how long before moving on to a more solid texture food?
If not puree, then it’s rice cereal or oat cereal, but which is better? Heard rice cereal has arsenic?
And also, any brand recommendations on purée and cereals? What about ikan bilis powder?
Hoping to hear from all of you 🤩#FTM

- 2023-08-30Hi all mummies, I’m currently at week 10 with my little baby and I have been suffering from bad nauseousness since week 5, when I found out I was preg. I have not actually thrown up but I constantly felt unwell with nauseous feeling.
Today, however, I felt slightly better and was able to eat more and also starting farting more.
I wanted to check with fellow experienced mummies when did your nauseousness started to go away? And how did it feel when it started to fade away?
Many thanks in advance 😊#firsttimemom #advicepls
- 2023-08-30My baby is 17 days old. Weighing around 3.3KG-3.5KG. How much milk should he be drinking per feeding? I’m currently feeding him 75ML-80ML but he seems to wake up every 1.5hours and cry for milk. He used to wake up every 3 hours at 65-70ML. It’s getting more frequent now. Should I increase the intake again? Am feeding him BM in the day and FM at night.

- 2023-08-30Hi ladies. For those that just delivered under private and A1, may I know how much do you guys pay for pre-admission?

- 2023-08-30Hello~
I’m in my last trimester almost 33 weeks. And my reflux / heartburn is super painful. Been taking gaviscon but like not relieved. Anything else to take?
- 2023-08-30Hi mummies with GD,
Can you please share what happened when your gynae diagnosed you with GD?.. Will it go away eventually go away?.. Im afraid cause ive been indulging on sweet stuffs this pregnancy.. 😔
- 2023-08-30Im not overweight, no GD, no preeclampsia. At 26 weeks, my baby was 1kg. 31 weeks baby was 2kg (1kg in 5 weeks), larger than average at 75 percentile. Doctor says baby weight is still considered ok, as long as I still ate healthy and dont over eat should be fine. But the problem is, I was still throwing up like crazy, and ate close to nothing, and I gained no weight from 26 to 31 weeks (at first i was very worried baby will be underweight... how is it that my baby has gained so much instead?). I told the doctor this, and he said the baby will take whatever he needs from me (no matter whether I ate or not? - so i was thinking omg if i were able to eat more will my baby be even larger?! 😩). Last I checked at 35 weeks, baby is already 3kg. Still ate as per normal, but this time less throwing up. Been eating quite healthily, like salads, cooked sushi, fish soup, YTF etc, less carbs, less fried, less oily less sweet stuff and sometimes i only ate 2 tiny meals a day but baby still grew quite a bit (1kg in 4 weeks)!
It has been a little more than a week now after my last checkup and I feel my tummy seemed to have increase in size quite a lot. (More than usual). Could be more amniotic fluid, also could be my baby grew v fast again.
I am worried. At this pace, baby might exceed 3.5kg or possibly 4kg when I give birth. 😩 And I believe I am quite petite, so I am afraid it may be v difficult for me. (Currently 154, 50kg at 36+ weeks). Doctor adviced me to do some pelvic exercises to stretch my pelvis. He says since I am quite petite, he says he wouldnt wait too long for the birth and he will look at inducing if there's still no sign of labour at 38 weeks as it would harder for me if the baby grows too large (tho im afraid baby may already be v large at 38 weeks). But I have heard that inducing can be very long and also painful, and if it fails and baby is distressed, still need to have emergency c section too... Feeling very worried.

Went for week 7 scan but no heartbeat detected yet and also couldn't see properly due to fibroid blocking. Is there a chance still the pregnancy good ? Or could be a sign of failed?

- 2023-08-30Have been feeling emotionally unstable, currently 4 month postpartum. At times i will tend to raise my voice to either the toddler or newborn cause i feel like theres too much to handle?
Am i worst mom or isit normal? Im all alone, no maid no parents or in laws staying with me.
Is it normal too that you cant keep up with daily activites of your children when you dealing the house on your own? Or you house in a mess when you spent too much time with your children, is this normal or am i just a lazy mom?

- 2023-08-31I have been having allergies even before pregnant and can only be controlled with medication as cream doesn’t help. Usually take zyrtec which has cetirizine dihydrochloride.
During pregnancy I tried not to take any medication but the allergy is so bad that it spreads to the whole body including face even without me scratching it and I have sleepless nights due to this.
To sleep peacefully I have no choice but to take the medication which I have also consulted gynae Which they said it’s fine to take.
But was wondering will there be any complication if taken on daily basis since the allergy will flare up mostly on daily basis and won’t go away until medication is taken?
Worry that it will affect baby and I’m only in my 2nd trimester & still have months to go..
- 2023-08-31Baby is 6 weeks and it's been 4 days not pooping. Prior to that, baby has been pooping daily. Tried massaging technique, she just kept farting.. should I seek help? She not showing any sign of stress and she is fed both breastfeed and formula. #worriedmum

When its sleep time, I feel so stress that I am unable to breathe properly and causes me to be super fidgety and cant sleep every night. Gynae did prescribe allersin for me to take every night till no symptoms, but I am still congested.. I feel so helpless. When will this go away?

- 2023-08-31Hi, any mummies here suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum or severe vomiting that needs to be admitted to hospital frequently for IV therapy? I’m currently at 10 weeks 2 days. My nausea and vomiting are so bad that I can’t tolerate any food or even water. I’m feeling very weak and sick. I’m vomiting stomach yellow bile / acid, white foam and even blood as I have no food in my stomach and nothing left to vomit. I vomit the whole day from morning to night. I have no choice but to be on HL. My condition is very hard on me and I feel really terrible. I have been admitted to the hospital for 4 times for IV therapy due to dehydration. I felt better with the drip and medication by IV. But the moment I'm out of hospital without the drip, my nausea and vomiting came back immediately. Tried oral diclectin and maxolon for anti nausea / vomiting but both didn't help at all. I become very depressed and don’t know how to tolerate. Everyday is a torture for me as I feel like a very sick and dying person. I cried so many times and wanted to give up. I find that nobody can understand how torturing this is. I have a 2.5 year old son at home that I can’t even take care of with my condition right now. I feel so sad that I can’t see my son when I have to frequently admit to the hospital and hospital so not allow kid to enter the ward. Am I the only 1 suffering from this condition? Any mummy having the same condition as me can let me know how to go through this please?

- 2023-08-31Im currently 37 weeks and want to start walking more whenever i could since im already on hospital leave to rest but theres nothing much to do at home. Altho they say to start walking more, which ive tried, i cant help but to be soo breathless every few steps ? I wasnt like this a week before bt now at 37 weeks, even walking a few mins makes me breathless and need to sit for a while before continuing to walk.
I believe this is normal ? I thought i wouldnt experience this breathlessness since i was fine the week before i was able to really walk long distance w/o a problem. but i guess its almost the last lap and my stomach is huge and heavy.
Im scared if i dont walk much ill have longer labour and really hoping to not go overdue and get induced

- 2023-08-31Hi Mummies,
My baby is starting on solids soon at 6 months.
-Do we blend and make purée with milk or water?
- What is the balance of milk and water in terms of volume we should give the baby everyday, other than solid food?
- What kind of food to avoid at the start?
- Is it ok to give baby food from jar everyday when traveling for a week?#firsttimemom
TIA.
- 2023-09-01My newborn was able to sleep at night time and fussy in the afternoon.
However now (3 weeks old) it seems she think night is the day and day is night.
She has been sleepin more soundly in the day.
At night she doesn’t really want to sleep.
Any mummies have some issue?
- 2023-09-01Have been having frequent heartburn and brixton since the end of August. It makes me lose my appetite to eat and sleep. - 2023-09-01Im gg to be 38 weeks tmr and since 37 weeks i cant help but to be anxious every single day as to when my contraction or labour sign will start.
This will be my firstborn and i want to avoid getting induced and hoping to get to deliver naturally.
For first time mummies, that did not get induced, at which week did you start getting labour signs? And for contraction does it happen on the day you give birth or it actually can prolong for few days before you actually give birth.

- 2023-09-01This is random and i know it depends.
But if my baby’s weight is roughly 2.7kg at 35 weeks, what will be his approximate weight at birth if i were to give birth at 39/40 weeks ?
So far my weight stays the same from 35 weeks till now 38 weeks

- 2023-09-01Hi Mommies,
How much did you pay for child labour in Mount E and TMC?
Which Gynae would you recommend?
- 2023-09-01I'm currently w17 and have less pregnancy symptoms than I had in 1st trim. I read about the importance of exercising during pregnancy and started 2 days ago with some light stretching and walking for 30mins. Another reason is that I have constipation and my gp has asked me to walk and move a bit more.
Is feeling sore on the lower abdomen and tiredness normal after walking?
On the other hand, I'm seeing my gynae once every mth now. May i know how often do mamas (2nd trim on wards) see gynae to check on baby? #advicepls #firsttimemom

- 2023-09-01Currently 38w and before this i dont really suffer bad back pain, or just a mild one on and off.
But tonight im having a bad lower back pain to the point i cant even sleep at all. Keep tossing and turning and trying to do stretching, massaging my back all doesnt work. Is there anything that can help lessen the pain ?
How i wish i can just spam salonpas or yoko yoko on my back 😭

- 2023-09-01Anybody here sleeps better at night with aircon than fan ? Not necessarily because of the coolness or heat, but for some reason, sleeping under the fan makes your lower back pain, thigh & leg more achy and painful? Even when using a blanket.
Idk if that makes sense.

- 2023-09-01Hi mummies, do you experience lack of sleep or barely even sleep 3rd trimester onwards, especially few weeks towards edd ?
I really find myself either sleeping very late, waking up every hour or barely even sleep. Aside from keep needing to pee, my whole body is sooo uncomfortable esp my big heavy tummy. And whenever i sleep on my sides, the side of the body, esp the pelvic and ribs will hurt and be crampy.
Its extremely frustrating to the point Sometimes i feel like i can go crazy from the lack of sleep.

- 2023-09-02My husband and I have hired a FDW to care for our newborn. She is currently taking care of the baby in the day and I play with the baby during her awake windows in the day (around 30-45 mins per 3 hrs per day). During this time frame she does her daily chores which includes hand washing baby’s clothes, washing milk bottles, etc. My husband has already returned to work and I am still on maternity leave. Can I check if it is reasonable to let her take the baby for night feeds on weekdays too?
Background: She does NOT have to do household chores like laundry, cleaning and cooking as we have help (MILs + another helper) to do so and it has been made known to her that it is not required and not part of her job scope. Sometimes she helps out with ironing and folding of our clothes but that is to her own discretion and done voluntarily. Her current job scope includes bathing and feeding/burping the baby, hand washing baby’s clothes and swaddles, washing milk bottles, making baby sleep, etc. She is hired solely to take care of the baby and we take the baby on Friday and Saturday nights for night feeds. She also has Sundays off.
- 2023-09-02My 6 months old baby did not want to drink milk. I tried every ways but still the same. So exhausted so tiring. Thinking on how to make her drink milk. She do not want to even eat. Can anyone assist me.
I do not know what type of formula milk to get for her.
- 2023-09-02!! Contains picture of the discharge, looks slightly more greenish in real life !!
Currently 34 weeks pregnant.
Just recovered from bacterial infection down there @ 32weeks. Doc prescribed vaginal pessaries (to be inserted into vjj) to treat the infection.
It was fine and gone for a few days, but now im having an oddly coloured discharge again with a slight smell and itch.
I have been having frequent infections before and throughout pregnancy, but only got it treated once during pregnancy.
I wash after every trip to the toilet but yet, I still get infections.
Is this another infection?
What should i do now?
- 2023-09-02Hi mums, would like to seek advice on where are the physical shops/ showrooms or departmental stores where you go to view or purchase baby items?
My husband and I would prefer to view the actual products before we buy, and while we are ok with shopping online, we would like to go to a physical shop with a good range of baby items from prams, car seats, cots to bouncers and all these items needed for a new baby. Would be grateful if you all could suggest some places, as we are first time parents and totally clueless 😅
Thank you!

- 2023-09-02hi mummies, just wondering which one is better between baby carrier (e.g. ergobaby) and baby wrap (konny, boba, moby)

- 2023-09-02Hi mums, how do you travel alone with your babies on public transport? In the below scenarios, would it be better to use a baby carrier (baby-wearing) or bring a pram? I don’t know how easy is it to lift baby out of the pram, carry him/her while collapsing the pram into a folded state and lugging it into the public transport or vehicle.
1) On the bus/MRT. Would baby wearing be more convenient than lugging a pram around by myself?
2) On private hire cars such as Grab. Is it necessary to book a car with a baby seat? Because I’m also worried about how clean the baby seat will be, on a private hire vehicle. Possible to baby-wear on the ride? Also what is the feasibility of carrying baby while collapsing the pram and storing it in the car boot by myself?
First time mum here, and my bundle of joy hasn’t arrived yet, so I’m just trying to anticipate the logistics of bringing him/her out by myself, and noting what I need to buy, pram, baby-wearing carriers etc.
Thank you!
