- 2023-01-16Hi Parents!
For my firstborn we engaged Cordlife for both cord blood and tissue storage.. So now with the second baby coming, upon checking on their prices and promotion it seems like their prices are about +$500 compared with Stem Cord and Cryoviva..
Would like to ask if any parents out there are using Stem Cord and Cryoviva as I understand Cordlife is the oldest private cord blood bank in SG..
TYIA! 😊

- 2023-01-16Dear Mummies,
TMI. Need help. I was peeing and washed it off with water. And as i was wiping dry, there's this discharge like in the photo. Is this normal? Or am I having some infection? Will it affect my baby?
I peed again but the discharge was now clear. I am seeing my gynae tomorrow but can't help but worry as i do not have any discharge before this throughout my pregnancy and am GBS positive as of 30 Dec.

- 2023-01-16Hello mummies, I have a bad trait of parenting and I would like to change it. I would like to seek advice. Thank you.
I used to live in a bad environment. One abusive parent and another one use me as a sandbag verbally. They tend to verbally abuse me whenever they fret up.
I realised that I did that a few times. I try my best not to be like them. But it's so difficult. I feel so guilty for doing the same for my children. I want to stop it once and for all. I don't want to release my stress and upsetness to my children.
I'm a housewife. People around me tell me that my world revolves around my children and I have no hobbies or interests, that's why I couldn't de-stress. But my hobby is cooking. I love to find ways to cook my dishes better and find a new recipes to cook.
I think I cannot handle stress and my emotions well. Is there any link I can read up on to better help me with managing these? So that I would vent out to my children. Thank you.

- 2023-01-17Hello, just found out that I’m 6 weeks pregnant on Letrozole after 2 years of TTC 🥹 The feelings are overwhelming! Gynae appointment is scheduled on 30 Jan.. this 2 weeks wait is so hard! I can’t help but overthink if baby is well or what’s going on in my womb and it makes me stressed and worried 😳 I don’t have morning sickness symptoms except for sore boobs and cramps. Anyone mum to be/mums have advice on overthinking? 🥺

- 2023-01-17Hello everyone! Excited to “see” you!
I am Dr Navdeep Singh Pannu, Medical Director at TMC Fertility & Women's Specialist Centre. Together with the team at TAP, we would love to help as many of you to cope with the morning sickness.
Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, often known as morning sickness, are very common in early pregnancy. It typically starts before nine weeks. It can affect you at any time of the day or night.
Here are some questions asked in our community, and we got the answers for you ✅
👩: I’m in my second trimester and noticed that I have been throwing up in the evenings lately. Is it common?
👨⚕️: Morning sickness usually goes away as a pregnancy progresses. While many women feel better after the first trimester, some report ongoing nausea or vomiting through the second trimester. You may be able to gain some relief from morning sickness using home treatment, such as changing what, when, and how much you eat.
👨: My wife doesn't have morning sicknesses like nausea and vomiting's is it normal?
👨⚕️: lack of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy isn't cause for concern. Some women with healthy pregnancies never experience morning sickness.
👩: Are there proactive steps I can take to avoid morning sickness?
👨⚕️: Choose foods carefully. Select foods that are high in protein, low in fat and easy to digest, Snack often, Drink plenty of fluids & Pay attention to nausea triggers. And if necessary, take anti vomiting (anti-emetics) medications. Alternative remedies - Ginger, Sour treats, Mint, Fluids, Vitamin B6, Acupressure or acupuncture

- 2023-01-17Hi!
We heard our first fetal heartbeat yesterday at 8w 5d. The OB said rate is 129 bpm.
She didn’t seemed concerned, mentioned all was well but everywhere i’m reading seems to have rates higher than that at this stage. Anyone with similar experiences that can share the outcome?

- 2023-01-17Hi. I’m at 33 weeks pregnant. Constipation is real. But today something happened to me when I farted I was actually passing out mid watery stool. Lucky I’m at home. Why is this happening to me?
I googled. And it shows that labor is near . Near in 48hrs … I’m so scared .
- 2023-01-17My husband choose to take part time tuition for students until 10pm over accompanying me during my pregnancy and now the baby is still young and he wants to take one more year because the student is taking national level exam. Do I call him irresponsible? My in-laws also never take care of the baby for one day, and insisted that they are old already and have no time (they work barely half of the week). My own mother cared for me and the baby for 6 months singlehanded with no resting day and my husband still got much to complain about her so he even stayed back to parents place for the time being. Now my husband just hired a maid and do the bare minimum himself. Weekend he would choose to watch videos over playing with the baby too. Is it common for husband to do this? Is children really the tomb of marriage? (By the way I’m too working full time, just work from home thank God) #advicepls
- 2023-01-17Hi Mummies, since the start of my breastfeeding journey, i realised that my milk output for my right boob is 50% lesser than my right boob. Currently am pumping 80 ml on left and 40 ml or lesser on right and its not even enough to sustain 1 feed for my LO. any advice on how to increase milk supply? i’ve read tons of thread here, tried lactation cookies, fenugreek, oats, dates milk and even powerpumped for a good 3 weeks but still milk supply is stagnant.. any mums out there faced the same issue and managed to overcome it? my LO is 1.5 months now and his demand of milk is sometimes hard to keep up to. am currently supplementing with FM but hoping that milk supply is able to keep up to his needs. any advice? tyia

My baby always wants me to walk around or just stand up while feeding her . Im so tired and to me whats the difference? I rock her , pat her bum she still cries and want me to stand up to feed her , she wont latch till i stand and walk around the room . Any mummies face the same issues? How do u cope with it ?
When i try to make her latch fully , she will close her mouth to a small O and cry when i don’t give it to her directly . Should i find a LC?
- 2023-01-17Hi I'm ftm and I've been noticing my LO gum has this white part on both sides of mouth. I've been wanting to ask PD but forgot and next appt is 2 mths away.. Does anyone know? Could it be teeth growing? But he is too young to start growing teeth? #pleasehelp
- 2023-01-17Hi moms, my baby has flat head on one side cause when he was a newborn, he used to sleep on his left. He's 3 months now and is it too late to use the pillow for flat head? If not too late, does the pillow actually work?
Thank youuu❤
- 2023-01-17MY MUMMY FRIENDS!! I have some good things to share if u are pumping! First, invest in hands free wearable pump (i m using breast friends forever), do housework when pumping! Win win! Second and most importantly apply cooking coconut oil or olive oil !! This was the very factor that made me contemplate whether should I continue pumping because my nipples are so damn sore! Now with lubing, i feel much much much more comfortable (no more pain) and it encourages me to continue pumping! #goodthingsmustshare

- 2023-01-17Hello mummies! I had a scan ytd, but I was only week 5 day 2. I think my gynae scheduled me a little earlier because of previous conditions or maybe due to CNY period. He saw the gestational sac in womb but said could not see yolk sac yet. He said it might be too early and asked me to come back in 2 weeks. Anyone had similar experience? I am a little worried. #pleasehelp #advicepls
- 2023-01-17I did a vaginal scan ytd at 5 weeks 2 days but yolk sac was not present yet. Gestational sac was seen in womb. Gynae asked to come back in 2 weeks to determine. Is it normal? #advicepls #pleasehelp

- 2023-01-18I like sleeping on my back.. I’m ok for sleeping left side too. But occasionally I sleep for hours lying on my back during the day to rest.
Is this okay?
I’m only in my first trimester too and baby isn’t too big but read a lot about sleeping on the back will have still birth?
Have anyone slept a lot on the back and still give birth to a healthy baby eventually? I’m Afraid that because of my need to sleep on my back there will be a miscarriage #advicepls #firsttimemom

- 2023-01-18I’m currently in week 4 of my gestational period and recently I’ve been waking up with severe breathlessness and anxiety. My mind may occasionally worry about my baby, but my physical symptoms seem to be getting worse. I struggled with anxiety when I was in university, but as I went on to work I learned to handle it better and it never felt this bad before. Has anyone experienced this? Is it the fluctuation of hormones that is causing this?
- 2023-01-18Hi Sept 2023 mommies! I’m at 5 weeks with my second one!
I wanted to deliver at KKH like my firstborn but I was under the subsidised scheme. I want to go private with my second one but I heard that they don’t have Saturday appointment slots 😞
Thus, I’m asking for recommendations on private gynaes around Sengkang. Appreciate your help! TIA!

- 2023-01-18I got pregnant recently, less than 6 weeks, and via IVF. So prior to knowing I am pregnant, I was resting during the TWW. So now cny is just round the corner and I haven't buy my clothes, dye my hair and all those cny groceries shopping!
While the rest can shop online, my hair is in a messy state now. With split and yellow ends. I wonder can I do DIY hair dying now? Is it harmful to the pregnancy?

- 2023-01-18Hi ! As a single mum here still staying with parents , full time care giver of a toddler (currently unemployed ), i have yet to complete booster in the month of May . would like to ask if any com -care would help a single mother out? Haven't tried contacting sso as i for sure know get rejected , little one is already 1yr . Even CDA , i cannot do much .. All these while my dad is the one buying milk n diapers . Baby's dadnot in pic since baby 6month in tummy . But you know I just feel the guilt of my dad having to spend thousands probably more . Especially when the baby dad is fucking around with other woman , and produce another set in the generation lol . Anyway , Is it possible to get a financial short term help in a household of $5k- 6kplus ? just wondering . As I have tried the family centre , won't approve as household earns more than a certain amount (3k) I think , but I was the one asking for help not my family members .. they kept asking if my dad will be able to support .. but i just feel guilty , who doesn't want being helped? at least something is off the shoulder you understand me ? you know in singapore $4k is probably not enough . diapers , wipes , milk , clothes , shoes , bottle , teats ?? 🥲 I like how generous people are by blessing USED items but I'm not risking my baby's health as she has sensitive skin & how about hygiene?? nooo pls .. recently I have posted baby items for sale in carousell just so i could actually get new items for baby diapers . In future , can i get subsidies for toddler when she finally goes to school ? Why do I feel like it's unfair and very unfortunate to not receive baby bonus for unmarried mom/ single parents . Raising a child is already spending over 3k given by gov (CDA) . these questions have been bothering my mind for 2 years at least . I actually need answers .. anyone who have worked in financial? do you really help single moms in need ? please comment.
- 2023-01-18Hi Im currently at 32 weeks and every time after sitting down for sometime when standing up i will have pain around my pelvic/lower tummy area. I need to stand for few seconds before i can walk with slight pain. Anyone experience this before and what do u do to reduce the pain.

- 2023-01-19Previously I have on and off nausea and sore boobs.
Entering week 10 now and first time vomited!!! Is this normal? The soreness in my boobs also start to fading a lil bit.
Based on google “If nausea and vomiting begin for the first time at or after 10 weeks of pregnancy, or if your morning sickness returns, talk to your health care provider. The symptoms may be due to other causes”
I am quite worried! My next appt w gynae would be after CNY🥵🥵

- 2023-01-19I've a newborn of 9 days and a toddler of 2½ years old .
How do y'all cope when your toddler just decides to have tantrums , meltdowns , not wanting to listen to you , not wanting to go school? My husband is on paternity leave till end month and I wonder how I'm going to cope. This past week has been easygoing with baby but toddler has been showing some tantrums and doesn't want to go to school. 😭 It's so difficult now to wake him up even though he sleeps at 10am and has to wake up at 8am. I'm a c sect mummy and honestly, I feel like I need more time to heal. Im not even doing confinement like I planned to. Toddler doesn't seem jealous of sister as he's quite involved in everything concerning her. We include him when we're doing things with his sister.
Just that now , it's difficult for me to 'control' his tantrum. He used to listen whenever we ask him to keep his toys / shower / wake up. But now , even a simple task of keeping his unplayed toys is a nightmare. 😮💨 Is this just a phase ? Can mummies share with me on y'all cope on days yr kids have meltdowns? I don't have any extra help from family members and I have zero friends. My routine is the same old every other day , wakeup , breastfeed, nap , settle toddler , settle baby , house chores , cook etc. I'm home all the time and sometimes I feel like my mind is going haywire especially if toddler throws tantrum. I dont want to scold him but at times I can't help it.
Need advise 🙏😭

- 2023-01-19Hi! 1st time mum here and very confused on Medisave. I have been paying upfront for pre delivery expenses and Medisave says you can claim up to $900 for this. I am not sure what claiming means? If I already paid 900$upfront and the bills can only be submitted at delivery, I’m confused where the reimbursement goes - do I get it to my bank account? Or where does the 900$ go, thank you! Sorry if silly question but I’m really really confused. Thanks!

Earlier this week, on Monday, I used normal clear blue pregnancy test in the evening. It indicated faint positive. When I checked on Tuesday morning, it indicated as negative. Yesterday, I tried to test on digital clear blue in the evening. It indicated as "pregnancy 2-3 weeks". Is it mean than that I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant? If so, how come it was faint positive on Monday? Do I need test again to confirm my pregnancy? My upcoming appointment with gynae is mid-feb. Should I wait? Thanks for your advice ❤️#pleasehelp #advicepls

- 2023-01-19Hi moms! Baby turned 1 year bout a week ago. I’ve been very overwhelmed with being the main caregiver for baby and also going to work. I’ve tendered my resignation back in dec because I was under a lot of stress since my job had a lot of demands that I cant fulfill. It’s just days away till I officially leave but it gets heavier. I’ve used up ccl and have also applied leave to not physically be at work because mentally, I’m not able to cope. I’m not sure if anyone understands but it seems like people at work just wants to be there to do work while mentally, I’m just crying every other day because I can’t wait to get off work.
I’m really stressed and sometimes wish I was in an accident instead. I really don’t know what to do as of now till the next few days :( #FTM #firsttimemom #bantusharing

Here are some questions asked in our community, and we got the answers for you ✅
👩💼What is a healthy portion for eating sweets or candy for kids? Or is there no such thing?
👩🔬Don’t forget that the added sugar mentioned does not only include sugar in candy and soft drinks but also in cakes, cookies, fruit juice, and many more.
Based on this list, the appropriate portion would be 2 pieces of milk candy or 2 cubes of dark chocolate for a 2-3-year-old child.
Also, reading nutrition labels allows us to plan the most appropriate portions for our kids to prevent increased risk of obesity and tooth decay in the future!
👩💼 My baby is very active. He plays throughout the day. But eat less. Do I need to take him to a doctor? or How can I encourage him for eating?
👩🔬As your baby grows their interest in the world around them, it is common for them to have a shorter attention span for food, hence eating less. Here are some tips for you to try out:
1. Set a meal schedule: Having mealtime at a regular time every day serves as a reminder for your baby that he needs to eat.
2. Adjust his meal portion: If your baby can’t finish his meal, try to reduce the portion. If he is still hungry, you can always offer him a second serving.
3. Offer snacks: If your baby is eating small portions during main meals, try giving him healthy snacks, such as nuts, yoghurt and fruit to give him those extra calories.
4. Replace some play time with meal preparations: Getting him involved in the kitchen could increase his interest in eating.
If you still find that his growth chart is below the normal range, I would recommend you seek further support from a GP or a dietitian.
👩💼sometimes I feel my toddler is not eating enough. How can I make sure he is getting enough nutrition?
👩🔬It is common for parents to feel that their toddlers are not eating enough. You might sometimes notice that he isn’t able to eat much, but this is normal - he knows how much he needs!
However, if he is eating less than normal because of distractions during mealtimes, try turning off the TV, banning gadgets at the table, or eating together.
If he is resisting food continuously, try presenting his meals in a new way. Try out new ingredients, textures, shapes, and presentations to entice him into trying it!
If his growth chart falls within the normal range, don't worry! It means that his intake is able to catch up with his requirements. For more information: https://www.healthhub.sg/programmes/122/early-nutrition-for-babies/12-24months/food-portion-guide-for-toddlers-baby

- 2023-01-20Hi mummies, I went for my anomaly scan today at week 20. Doctor said baby have a slightly high abdominal circumference at 157.1mm, which she meant the baby fats. Does that increased the risk of having gestational diabetes? #firsttimemom #firstbaby #firstmom

( I don’t feel comfortable and stinks and not so hygienic to be with baby right) i remembered I wipe myself with baby pigeon wet cloth as I cannot take it with the stickiness!

- 2023-01-20My pre-pregnancy weight is 58kg and I’m now at 29 weeks weighing 71kg. I was 62kg at my checkup on 2/12/22. My gynae has not made any comments about my weight gain and is telling me to eat more based on my baby’s estimated weight. But I’m already gaining so much????
Is there any reason why I’m gaining so much and how can I slow downnnn???

- 2023-01-21Hi mummies, first time mum here and baby is around 3 months old, fully breast fed. I love my baby but there are times when I feel so exhausted and I don't have time for anything else at the end of the day. My mum is helping me out but baby still refuses to take the bottle which means I have to breastfeed him every two hours or so. Any tips on how to be more efficient in caring for baby so that I can get a bit more rest and have time for other things?
- 2023-01-21My husband and I are big gamblers love to gamble, always play in bookmaker offices, betting on favorites, and waiting when luck smiles on us. probably will seem silly, well with my husband planned to open a small bookmaker office. we have even looked at the lease. I think this profitable business, everyone likes to play betting, even moms on maternity leave. do you think this is a great idea? Is it possible to open an office.
- 2023-01-21Hi Parents
I need your help based on your experience of managing my 8 months old baby with work. I recently joined new office and though I’m work from home 3 days a week , till date had someone from our family for support and now due to visa they have to go back. My helper isn’t that smart to take care of baby ( unfortunately) and hence baby care is something we both as a parent have to manage . I’m trying to prepare myself to better manage work and baby both when home, need your suggestion on the same like how can I keep my baby busy so she can play on her own, make her be with helper more comfortably , take care of her food timely along with my work etc. any suggestions would really be helpful . #advicepls #firsttimemom #firstbaby
