- 2023-12-25Hi mummies, would like to seek help to solve my baby boy pee leak mystery.
I’m a first time mum and my baby boy is turning 3mths. Recently we would find his left side of his back (above the diaper) wet. Suspecting is pee leak, but don’t quite understand how it leaks coz the diaper seem to be dry on the waist line and the diaper is only 20-30% wet, so definitely not leaking out due to diaper full. He is wearing MamyPoko tape diaper size S which is appropriate for his weight.
So appreciate if any mummies who had similar experience to help us understand how did the leak happen 😅

- 2023-12-25Hi mummies, ftm here and baby just hit 3 Months. Previously bottle fed him during 1st month when milk supply was low. 2nd month while I was taking care of him, I breastfed completely as it was too difficult to pump and feed as my husband was busy with work to help.
Now at 3 Months, baby is rejecting bottle. I'm putting him in infant care on 1st week of Jan 2024. Feeling very stress about his bottle rejection..
He used to take pigeon SS. Now, tried more than 9 types of bottle brands, having better luck with Hegen. But he only bite on the teat but not sucking. Read alot of other websites and tried different positions, temperature, etc etc..still not working much. Been 2 weeks of trying and it's stressing me out.
Worried for baby if he will starve himself at infant care then no choice i'll have to go over to feed him since I stay nearby and not back at work yet.
The stress is so much that I'm so negative.. It's causing tension with my husband. Sigh.. He asked me not to be so negative and keep thinking of worst case scenario such as baby not going to take bottle and I'll have to tank it. But I can't help planning/thinking for the worst.. :(
Any mummies with bottle rejection and found success? Or no success? Pls share your experience.
- 2023-12-25Just a little rant as my maternity leave has ended and ill be back working tomorrow onwards. My baby’s in ifc, and i feel so down and bad for my baby as ill be fetching me later than usual 😣 like almost coming to 7pm when during maternity leave i always fetch him latest by 5pm. I feel like a bad mon.
And my baby’s life will mostly be in IFC. I don’t why i always feel like crying when thinking about it.
I did try to clear my remaining AL, so called extend my maternity leave, but due to manpower my leave was rejected. Just wanted to spend more time with baby as i feel by the time i fetch him from ifc, already evening, after shower and milk he’ll go to sleep straight till next morning. Like i only have few hrs with him in a day.
Is this just a first time mum syndrome ? Will this feeling tone down or go away soon?
- 2023-12-25Will all mummies go through post partum hairloss and usually at which month will it start and stop? Is there such thing as some mommies dont go through it?
Im currently 3 months PP and no major hairloss, so i want to be mentally prepared.

- 2023-12-25Hey mummies, my 3month old LO is starting to sleep through the night and he poops a lot as soon as he wakes. Any recommendations for diapers which absorbs very quickly for runny poop and also can store a lot of pee at the same time?
I tried drypers and even for fresh diaper, b4 it can absorb the poop already flow out from back. Goonz absorbs really fast but not enough to last with through the night pee + poop. Tried rascal and friends but consistently leak from the thigh area even when its fresh diaper. Currently I am using merries, and it's the best, but baby diaper seems to be like it's exploding after just 6 hours of use + poop. Baby is sleeping longer and longer, so I'm wondering if there are other options? Thanks!
- 2023-12-25Buying insurance for newborn... which insurance company did you buy the insurance from?
- 2023-12-25I underwent C section and it’s been almost 2 weeks but my supply on each side never exceed 30ml each time. On good days I yield 30ml, on bad days I’m only yielding 10ml and I’m not able to keep up with my baby’s demand. Is it normal?
- 2023-12-25Hi mummies, my baby is three months old and suddenly has this snorting sound when she breathe. It should like nasal congestion. Brought her to doctor but doctor say newborn does not have any medication, can try nose drop. We used sterimar hygiene spray on her but doesn't help. Any mummies have such experience or any solution? Should we consult another PD?
- 2023-12-25Hi, this is my 3rd pregnancy. I’m close to 9weeks now and have been feeling cold very easily. Especially at night, I feel very chilly and cold (like inner body cold). Till the point if I’m not dressed warm, I may even shiver (esp wee hours). I am someone who is scared of hot, and even more so during my previous 2 pregnancies. This time is totally the opposite so I’m not sure if it’s ok. Will ask my gynae again when I see her in 3 weeks time.
- 2023-12-25Baby is 6 weeks old and based on the weight, he should be taking 600ml daily. But at the moment he is constantly hungry, and daily intake is about 800-900ml. (90ml/2 hourly)
I know the weight-base feeding volume is just a rough guide, as each baby is different. It’s just that baby’s appetite is alarming to me. (Baby is on formula by the way)
Sometimes baby spit out milk, sometimes milk came out from his nostrils as well.
Does any mummy experiencing similar situation?
- 2023-12-25Hi ! I am week 28 now.. and I feel the kick everyday, however I notice movement only on my bottom left area of the stomach mainly only a handful of times on the right when I lay on the right. Is that normal? I did my scan and my baby is in head down position. I read online that I should feel kick under my rib cage but I have never felt it.. except for movement at the bottom left area.. I wonder if everything is normal or should I be worried?

- 2023-12-26Hi all! Just checking to see if anyone is the same as me who have higher baby bump. Nearer to the top of your belly. I'm currently at week 30 of my pregnancy and I find that my baby bump is so high up, not sure if it is normal.
I tend to feel so bloated as well with higher baby bump...
- 2023-12-26Hi mummies! Would love to hear your recommendations for maternity bras that give proper support and comfort to our growing tatas. I'm growing out of my old bras and would love new comfortable ones. Thank you!
- 2023-12-26Hi mummies, i would like to know for childcare, eg pcf, for N1, N2, K1, K2 etc, is it still operating 7am - 7pm, meaning we can drop them off and fetch them anytime ?
- working mum works 9-6pm
- 2023-12-26My baby is 3 months old and love sucking his fingers, hand, even during bath.
So when we’re bathing him, we would also wash his hands and he would instantly put it in his mouth. Which means he would also swallow abit of the reamining soapy water, is it ok for them to suck on soapy water?
Its not foamy, we’re using mustela or kodomo.
- 2023-12-26Hi mummies, im a first time mom, few months post partum and would like to ask a sensitive question regards to condom. Please do not comment bad things as im really new to all these.
I do not wish to go on birth control due to the horrible side effects. I know theres always that small chance of being pregnant even with protection, if unfortunate. If using condom (fetherlite version) and at the same time withdrawal, both at the same time, and avoid ovulation period, is it lesser chance to get pregnant?
I do track my ovulation using ovulating strips too.

- 2023-12-26Sometimes I feel like a failure mum. Everyone else can do but not me. For example, MIL come in the morning and afternoon baby such a sweetie, rarely fuss and sleep very well, eat very well. But once MIL pass back to me in the evening, baby keep fussing, can't make it sleep, sleep also only sleep for 10 mins and then wake up, drink milk also can't finish, keep crying non stop. I can't carry baby for long also, I feel like I even lose out in terms of strength with MIL. She can carry and rock baby for hours on end, but I can only do like 20-30mins and my arms are sore already. I dont know what am I even good for.
Just ranting abit before going back to take care of baby.
- 2023-12-26Just want to rant
Whenever we fetch our children from their preschool, we will need to press on the door bell and somebody inside the school could see us through the glass door and some may recognise us while some may not and they will approach us at the main door to ask who we are fetching.
Recently, I have encountered an experience which I felt it’s kinda rude at the same time looking like an idiot in front of other parents.
I’ve reached the school, pressed on the door bell, and there was someone standing in front of the reception counter. She didn’t look at me from the inside of when the door bell was pressed, ( the door bell could be heard from the receptionist counter) after a few minutes of waiting for her eye contact, she told me she had called for my children and I told her that, oh, I didn’t know you already saw me and she replied she saw us when we were walking towards the school. In my mind I was pissed and feel like an idiot for blocking in front of the main door just to wait to tell her I’m here for my children and was thinking the least she could do was to just give me an acknowledgement when i pressed the door bell instead of me standing in front of the main door waiting for her to look at me. I don’t have any special power to know that she had already saw me.
I’m wondering if I’m overreacting?
Do you all think that this is a rude behaviour?
How would you deal with this situation from happening again?
Thanks for reading.

- 2023-12-26I sometimes feel like this app is stressing me out and pressuring me on baby’s milestones and development. Altho i understand different baby, different pace. Like everyday i would read the description on baby’s supposed “progress” and it stresses me out. I know it’s just a rough guideline but i can’t help but to feel like sometimes baby is lagging behind. He’s still small, 3 months old. He does better tummy time now, can hold his head upright a few mins before he gets tired or cranky. But when he’s sitting on our lap, his head tend to still be fragile and fall to the front, if you get what i mean. Means his neck strength still quite weak.
However the app says my baby has to have a better neck strength and would able to control head when sitting on lap or during tummy time he should be lifting his shoulders too, doing mini push ups.

- 2023-12-26My baby has yet to start flipping, but would like to know in advanced. When baby started flipping, when they flip while sleeping, like sleeping on tummy, how to ensure baby’s safety? Like they wont suffocate themselves by sleeping face down ?
Aside from no toys, extra pillow and tight bedsheet.
And when do i need to turn baby to sleeping on his back? For example if his neck strength is still not so strong.
- 2023-12-26Hi mummies, how do you manage the pain? #firsttimemom #advicepls
- 2023-12-26Hi mummies, just curious, when you need to pay for your baby/kid’s childcare fees(after subsidy), aside from baby bonus and cda gov topup, how did you and your partner pay the fees? Assuming both are working parents.
Does the husband pays all or the wife chip in a little. Be it pay direct to school or cda account topup
- 2023-12-26Hello mummy ! What are the first food that u let ur 6 months old baby to try? How often per day? How much feeding per day?
- 2023-12-26Hi Everyone, I'm 34wks and will have c-sec at TMC soon. During the hospital tour, the information about C-sec pretty nothing. Would like to ask if anyone know how long have to wait in observation room after the op before can go back to my room with baby? Can hubby enter the op room? After the operation, can my family visit immediately or only the day after? TMC accepts payment by cards or cash only? Thank you very much.
- 2023-12-27Hi mummies! My heart’s been aching a little recently so I just wanna talk to you guys for a bit.
The past two weeks, my 5mo boy has been going to IFC and he’s been adjusting really well. He constantly does this squeal and excited flail of his hands combo whenever his teachers opened the door to receive him. Which initially puts my heart a little more at ease for when I resume work. (I took an additional 2 months of no-pay leave because my heart can’t let go. There is also absolutely no one capable enough in regard to caring for a baby for us to rely on for help, thus IfC.)
However today, he showed the same eagerness to play and start his day but..when his teachers said “bye bye mommy!” and turned to bring him in for his morning shower, he immediately shouted and cried. I was still filling up the daily paperwork to handover my son, but I could hear his distinct cries even as the door closed. It tugged at my heart really badly. At the same time I’m also confused and begin to question all my decisions that I thought was the best for him prior.
I definitely am not faulting the teachers at the moment, as I can see so far they have been taking great care of my boy. Even so that I didn’t tell them anything, but their observations on his daily habits and character is extremely spot on. (I was pretty impressed. Plus the past two weeks my son has been excited for school as I mentioned.)
It’s just hearing my son cries somehow put my mind into reset mode, as I can’t do anything at the point of time. I’m not sure if he’s in pain, but I highly doubt it as he was fine literally a minute ago. I’m also not sure if there’s any sudden traumas, as I can’t recall anything out of the ordinary in his daily behaviour up until this morning.
I called my husband as I stood there refusing to leave. He did mentioned to me something regarding separation anxiety, and he feels it’s probably that. Since we’ve been the sole caregivers for the past 5 coming 6 months. I did research as well, and there are articles claiming that babies around this age and older begins to know who’s mom and dad, their surrounding environments.
Is it really separation anxiety? I’m not too sure. But all I know is that he’s crying for mom. And I honestly don’t know what to do. We have to work..in order to give our son the best we can for him to grow up. But at the same time, I want to be with him every moment of the day. Especially when he cries. Sigh.
Sorry for such a long post mummies, thank you all for listening as I really have no one to talk to besides hubby. #firsttimemom
- 2023-12-27I would like to ask mummies if Tianwei or Thomson medical confinement meals are nicer?
- 2023-12-27Ill be going to a relative’s wedding this comming weekend and its giving me anxiety. Esp the old folks who anyhow want to carry and kiss our baby!!
My baby is 3 months old, and just recovered from covid(very traumatic experience, was even hospitalised). I want to avoid people wanting to carry my baby or even kiss my baby. I hate the idea of people passing around my baby, i dont even care if youre a relative. I honestly dont even like if my mil carry the baby at events cause shell go around walk around or people will anyhow come to her and touch touch baby.
And yes me and husband agreed on using baby carrier, both konny for myself and ergo for my husband. However i feel bad for baby to be in a carrier for the whole day. And sometimes even when using carrier for few hours, can see his legs got marks from the carrier. And sometimes he would fuss when in carrier.
Any other way to avoid them ? Cause some people just dont understand instruction and dont respect the mother and think we’re obnoxious.
Cause recently we went to a family gathering, which i dragged the most, and some people anyhow come and kissed my baby!

- 2023-12-27Hello everyone, I’ve tested positive pregnancy test on Christmas Day. Is it normal to not feel anything at this point of time? I’ll be doing my first scan on 9 Jan 2024. Praying all is good. #firsttimemom #advicepls
- 2023-12-27Hi there.
My 5 month LO has blocked nose / rhinitis for 2 weeks already.
Doctor said he can only prescribe nose drops and antihistamines for my LO. He also said blocked nose will always recur even until my LO grows up. Meaning it will not go away (genetic?)
So far, I find the medications not effective and my LO blocked nose is still blocked and runny sometimes. Now my LO also coughs with phlegm at night and couldn't sleep well.
Until now I don't know what allergies LO has that triggered rhinitis (dust mites?). I have cleaned the house and room.
I have tried using sterimar to clean the nose and also aspirator to clear the mucus.
I myself have rhinitis and my dad too. It could be hereditary but I pains my heart to see my LO couldn't sleep well.
I wonder if any mummy has faced this situation before ? Can help me?

- 2023-12-27Hi mummies, just curious, those that send their baby to IFC when they baby is around 3 months, and theyre on formula milk, if you send them full day, how many bottles of milk do they drink in a day in IFC? And every how many hrs?
Somehow my baby most of the time can survive 2hr 50 mins or 3hrs 120ml at home however at school he’s drinking like every 2 1/2hrs, which is like 4 bottles. And im worried if suddenly theres not enough bottle & formula powder in his bag for that day.
Is it normal to bring 4-5 bottles & formula dispenser?
- 2023-12-27Am i normal to feel this way. I always see videos or TikTok about SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) and since my baby’s birth till now 3m i can never have a good rest or good sleep whenever baby naps or sleeps cause i will always check baby’s breathing every now and then even at night i will auto wake up few times even when baby has started sleeping through the night. I always fear about SIDS to the point its affecting my quality of sleep or even rest and always made me overthink the worse case scenario.
Am i the only one like this.

- 2023-12-27Not baby related question, anybody had their wisdom tooth that grows horizontally, removed ? How long does the pain and swelling last and is it very painful?
- 2023-12-27With the rising of covid cases, seems like everyone’s getting covid. Would you still send your baby to infant care if their centre has few cases ? Like they will update through the little family room app of new cases in the centre.
If both parents working, no grandparents or anyone can take care, do you still send baby to the infant care, and praying for the best they wont get it ?
My baby also just recovered from covid but seems like his centre has a few covid cases right from the first day we dropped him off at 2 months old.

- 2023-12-27Any mummies regretted getting pregnant during their first trimester? The nausea was so bad that it changes my taste bud to feeling bitter. Every moment felt just not right. I felt nausea every single day and vomited everyday. I suddenly felt weak and didnt look forward to life everyday. Everyday is all about managing the shitty MS. Took diclectin but the side effect made it worse. Literally felt even more sick and weak. Sudden lost of social gatherings because of what you are going through and the food that you used to like eating and drinking cannot be taken just because they are raw or high in caffeine etc.. i know i should feel lucky getting pregnant but its just so much to deal with everyday.. sigh!
- 2023-12-27I'm on 4th week postpartum, currently pumping every 2-3 hourly. total pump each time is about 100mls and baby is taking 80mls now. I'm worried it will soon be insufficient. not sure should I be worried and if 100mls for each pump session is considered low supply? each pump I try to pump 20 mins but I realised usually after the first 10 mins not much coming out. continued for another 10 mins as I heard this helps to stimulate and produce more. but have been doing so since a week ago but amount still the same. sometimes end of the day only able to get 70-80mls per pump. am aware there's no average as it varies for each person but how much do mummies get from each pump? TIA!

- 2023-12-27Is it normal for 3 months old slowed down in gaining weight? His weight has been the same for 3-4 weeks. Previously he was gaining weight quite fast. Now is 5.85kg at 3 months old. Feeding FM 120ml, every 3hrs, sleeping through the night. No feeding issue. Did not lose any weight so far. Is it normal?
He weighs 3.08kg at birth
At what rate should baby be gaining weight ? Is it like every 2-3 weeks or so.
And from the app it shows baby should be at least 6kg

- 2023-12-27Hello mummies!
First time mummy here and I feel overwhelmed with things I read about managing every stage of baby’s growth online. My baby is 3 months old and I read that his routine should be drink milk > play 30mins > nap. Sometimes he is awake and wants to play after drinking milk, sometimes he is yawning after drinking milk. When I see that he seems tired, I try to pat him to sleep but he would cry quite badly for about 1-3mins before falling asleep.
Is this normal? Does it mean he does not want to sleep or he is overtired? Should babies nap without struggle? I’m worried if I’m not picking his cues right or is it because I’m not playing with him enough to tire him out? Should I stick strictly to routine of milk > play > nap or follow baby’s cues? And on some days if I follow his cues and he seems sleepy all day, I feel like I didn’t ‘play’ enough with him and am afraid it will affect his development?
I feel so confused and disappointed in myself that after 3 months I still can’t figure out my baby’s cues, understand wake and sleep windows :(
- 2023-12-27Hi! im 34 weeks pregnant and i realised that i didn't take any glucose test? is it normal?
- 2023-12-27My husband bought this for me. The taste is good! I even eat this cookies with dipping milk style. It taste so well too of the combi.
- 2023-12-27This pump really not bad. Had tried before, the suction is very comfortable. The pump machine wasn’t too big or not heavy. It can pump quite a good amount of it.
- 2023-12-27This is really good for tiny fingers. Currently using it on my toddler. First born was use during new born onward.
- 2023-12-27Love using on my baby when their hair wasn’t too much. It’s really soft hair brush.
- 2023-12-27I probably have to speak to a therapist for this, but this evening's been rough and I just need a listening ear. It a really long rant, I'm sorry.
My mum and I have had a difficult relationship. Long story short, she changed for the worse when my dad left 20 years ago, and the years after that, she just got worse - victimizing herself, manipulative, and selfish. I've tolerated this all these years because she's my mum. To a point where she'd tell me to lie or keep things from my husband and only tell her my problems, because I can never trust anyone but her. She's also the one who'd tell me over the years that no one will love me because of the way I am, and if I dressed or acted anyway that she didn't think was "girly", I was ugly and unwanted. But she's also the kind that will tell the world how much she loves me.
Once we found out I was pregnant, we told her the news, and all she thought was how she was going to be a grandma to a grandson. Mind you, we told her at the 3 month mark, and no clue on the gender. Never once did she ask how my pregnancy was, and I actually had a pretty tough 1st trimester, and tested high risk for preeclampsia. In short, I was scared shitless that I'd put this baby at risk. In the weeks to come, she'd text me baby names for boys only which I try to ignore. For context, this affects me because since I was a child, she'd tell me that my dad and dad's side of the family were disappointed that I was a girl (he's the eldest son, and I was the "first" grandchild), and that kinda stuck with me through the years of him leaving that "if I was a boy, would he have left?" So her going on about boys names just annoyed me because my husband and I both don't have a preference, and love this baby nonetheless. So I ignored her. Then came the line I drew. It was my aunt's birthday, and somehow things got a little heated.
To summarize - aunt's birthday was supposedly a surprise, but my uncle's bad at keeping secrets. So apparently my uncle invited my mother and told her he'll pick her up and bring her for dinner on a Saturday. But the day of the dinner, he had a last minute work thing, so my aunt texted if I could pick my mum up instead (she has 3 sons and was picking my grandma up). I called my mum to arrange a time, and that's when shit hit the roof. She took offense that her younger sister and brother-in-law didn't respect her enough to tell her they weren't picking her up and asked me (her daughter) instead. At this point, she was raising her voice, calling my aunt terrible names. I told her that it wasn't a big deal, and that I was pregnant so don't raise her voice. But she continued yelling, telling me how unfilial I am for taking my aunt's side. At this point I snapped and raised my voice too. My husband in the other room heard my yelling and came in to hear my mum's voice shouting through the phone and snatched the phone away from me because I was crying. He told her not to raise her voice at me because I'm pregnant and hung up. Thereafter she texted him really nasty stuff and said that he's trying to keep me away from her on purpose. Skipping to dinner - my uncle left work earlier to pick her up still, and dinner was pushed to an hour later, essentially, my aunt pacified her after having to listen to 30min of her yelling and name calling. On her own birthday.
Fast forwarding to a week later of me ignoring her, she sent a bunch of text to me asking if I was angry with her, and saying how she's not in the wrong and she's entitled to be this way because she's my mother, and my aunt's elder sister. I still ignored her.
Then came Christmas, she showed up at my house uninvited, told me she had a dream that I was going to leave her and that makes her sad because she loves me so much. So I sat her down and told her the above and how it made me feel. Guess what, she went hysterical. Saying how ungrateful I am for treating her this way after all she's been through raising me when my dad was the one who left. Mind you, I started working part time at 16 to pay for my school fees, took a gap year to earn pocket money, and my aunt was the one who paid for my university. My mother wanted me to quit school because it was too expensive. Not to forget, she's been "retired" since I started working full time at 24yo. I pay for her house, all the bills and give her an allowance.
I've tolerated 30years of verbal abuse from her, and if it weren't for this little one coming, my husband thinks I'll keep tolerating her - and I probably will, because like most of you will say "we only have 1 parent". But now that I have a little girl coming, I don't want her to live through the abuse I did. I don't want her to see her grandma's behavior and think it's okay to be selfish and manipulative. Am I wrong?#firsttimemom #preggymom #advicepls #pleasehelp
- 2023-12-27This is usually the kind of fights I have with the hubs once every couple of months when he's "freer". Long story short, I have an "autopilot" husband. That means on work days, and his days working from home are pretty hectic with meetings and stuff, so he doesn't do shit in terms of housework. But when he's on leave, and I decide to take a break from picking up after him - suddenly he's the only one doing all the work. This applies whether I'm 27 weeks preggers or not. It's like the last 6 months of you not on leave, the house auto cleans itself. And in the span of 2 weeks, you do everything, and I'm stressing you out because I'm not helping. Anyone's hubs is like this too? If yes, how do you deal with it?
I came up with a solution and told him we should just keep score. Text when someone does a chore. But he thinks I'm throwing a tantrum. I just don't want to repeat this same bloody fight over and over again. #pleasehelp #advicepls #preggymom
- 2023-12-27Hi all, how do you all deal with problematic MILs? In summary, we moved out 2.5 yrs ago due to a quarrel she had with her son, but blamed me for not supporting her and even called me names. It was a torturous 3 months before I packed my luggage and moved out on a sour note with my husband. Currently, I'm pregnant and my FIL is aware(definitely will tell her). I'm just thinking about the future, i don't ever wanna see her but what if they want to see the baby? Should i allow? God knows what she will do to the baby? My husband is not on talking terms with her too. Even though 2.5 yrs have passed, my hatred towards her is still strong. Sigh.
- 2023-12-28I tested positive one day after my missed period. But the lines are inconsistent and today it is slightly fainter than the day before. I am about 6 weeks in (as per app). Is it normal to see faint lines everyday after my missed period. In the pic, the day is referring to from my first day of test till today.
Also, when is the best time to engage a obgyn? This is my first pregnancy.

- 2023-12-28I was talking to a friend who knows abit about “Feng shui” … he was telling me if a woman’s nose become big during pregnancy, it means the baby is bringing good luck and fortune to the mum. Ever since then, the not very superstitious me started looking at the mirror everyday 😅 sadly my features are still the same even at 3rd trimester.. the only thing that is big is my tummy only.. anyone also didn’t not gain much weight throughout their pregnancy and also no changes in their features? 😁

- 2023-12-28Hi, my 4days old baby is sleeping too long without milk. I have tried waking her up but she still refuse to drink and choose to sleep instead. It has been 6hrs. What shud i do??
- 2023-12-28Hi mummies that have babies in IFC before 6 months. I am lost and confuse about starting solid altho my baby is only few months old but would like to know in advanced.
My baby’s teacher told us to try give baby oats + hot water once he turn exactly 6 months to check for allergy as theyll be giving babies that for breakfast.
However im curious. When starting solid, assuming baby only starts at 6 months(altho i know some start early), what if on the day he turns 6 months is the day he’s going schooling/IFC.
How do i go about this?
- 2023-12-28I was leaving my workplace when I realised that just across the road from my workplace, there was a funeral and they had just started burning joss paper (those big pile in a cage). The surrounding area was completely covered in smoke. I had no choice but to walk past it because I needed to walk in that direction to get to the bus stop. Now I'm so worried because I read that the smoke can be harmful to baby. It was so thick I was like choking (but maybe also as I was wearing a mask but was afraid to take it off also.) I feel so helpless and frustrated now as I'm so worried I have harmed baby. It seems like no matter how hard I try I'm somehow always encountering such unlucky situations. Anyone had a similar experience especially during 7th month hungry ghost festival? What should I do?
- 2023-12-28I tried to make sure baby is not too hot or cold. Somehow she can be almost awake from 9am to 5pm and not really sleep?! She only sleeps if we go out on the stroller or carrier during the day…
Advice will be appreciated! thanks in advance
- 2023-12-28My LO is 3 months old now! Other than eat and sleep, he has his wake periods, which is around 30 to 90 minutes depending on the time of the day. During this wake period, what do you mummies do with your LO to occupy the time after feeding or before feeding?
For now, after waking up, if LO is not hungry yet, I do about 10 minutes of tummy time with him (or more until he is frustrated or hungry). After feeding, I sit him upright (or carry him upright) for about 15 minutes, and then I dont know what to do already. For now, I put him on a lying chair and talk/chat to him until he is sleepy. If he isn't interested in me talking anymore, I use those shaker toys to entertain him for a few more minutes. I have some toys given to me but they aren't suitable for him yet (Stackers, teethers etc). Then when I absolutely have nothing to chat about or play with baby, then I put him to sleep. But then other than that what do you mummies do with your LO?

- 2023-12-29Hi everyone, we had bought a baby cot during October's baby fair and only after talking to a friend, she suggested we get an additional mobile baby cot or napper which can be pushed around the house... any experienced parent can advise if this is necessary? We are planning to place the one we ordered (immobile cot) in the nursery as we don't have space in our master room to place the big cot. Means we will have to get a smaller bassinet / mobile cot for room / living room area... #baby #mum #cot #sleep #bassinet #advicepls TIA!

- 2023-12-30I'm looking for alcohol-free & msg-free confinement food catering.
As alcohol causes defects to a child's brain and behavioral development and also interfere with the chemical works of medicine & supplements, does anyone know any confinement caterer where no alcohol (and no msg) is used in marinating and cooking the confinement food? Some commonly used alcohol are mirin, rice wine, yumeishu, DOM etc.
Additionally, alcohol is actually not fully cooked off during cooking and no amount of alcohol is considered safe for kids' development, so the risks of its negative effects on the breastmilk-fed baby remains.
Really appreciate if someone can recommend a suitable confinement caterer! Thanks.
So far Chilli Padi replied that they use alcohol and can't exclude it. And Tian Wei, Angel & Relacto haven't reply my email enquiry.
Update: NouRiche replied they can arrange to opt out alcohol and red glutinous (红糟) from the meals! 😘

- 2023-12-30Anyone else feels this way or is it just me that sometimes I think I have trust issues to leave LO with mom ~?
My maternity leave is ending in march and my mom suggested to quit her job to help take care of my LO (currently 2mo). As there is no slot for infant care, my husband and I are okay with the idea and will be giving her allowance to take care of LO.
Her current take home pay is around 1.7k and she seems to want us to give her the allowance which matches her salary (though she did say that allowance is not an issue and to let her know if we cannot afford etc.)
If my mom is gonna take care of LO - she needs to travel daily to my current place (which I m staying with my husband grandma and helper - my mom doesn’t have to do any housework or cook, as helper is already doing that, so she just need to purely take care of LO). Note: helper is busy taking
care of grandma and doing housework hence not possible to leave LO in her care.
Recently my mom came over and wanted to carry LO, I have to actually remind her to take off her watch (steel kind), she did so after my reminder but she did not take out the jewellery (necklace, ring, and bracelet) which she wore and when she is carrying LO, LO head kept pressing against her necklace which I have to remind my mom again, to remove it as it may poke into LO eyes..
Now I’m so worried to leave LO with my mom as the above are basics (I thought) when carrying LO? And also the allowance part it seems that she wants us to match her current salary which seems unfair to us (if we send LO to infant care it’s much cheaper due to subsidy and a more wise decision)..
