- 2024-07-08I am due 7 August 2024 and still am undecided if I should start my ML early or work until I am close to 40 weeks. Am currently on a WFH arrangement so it is pretty relaxing. I am with KKH subsidised so asking for HL will not be possible :/
- 2024-07-08Hi mummies, anyone going through the same as me? I’m in week 14 and really been feeling nauseous and kept vomiting as well.. lately just no appetite for dinner… is this normal?
- 2024-07-08Can someone provide some ideas on how to spend time with baby but you are alone at home e.g. so need to do chores, pumping and washing. I find it very2 difficult to manage. Didnt even have time to hv proper toilet breaks.. #help1sttimemompls

- 2024-07-08Hi mummies, anyone encounter fibroid degeneration during pregnancy and can share your experience? Will it affect the size of baby? I have a 5 cm fibroid and it’s degenerating according to gynae. The pain is unbearable even after 5 days. Wondering how long it will take to get better. Currently on HL, and taking antibiotics, anti contraction pills and painkillers. Worried that baby will be affected by the medication.
- 2024-07-08My mil took my son from me at birth and moved to another country. It took me several years to get him back but that was only because he needed to attend school and couldn't do so without my permission. Even when he started school, every weekend and holidays, my mil would just show up at my house and take him home with her. They would cause a scene and my son will cry wanting to leave me and follow her. Years passed and I eventually gave up as my son grew up hating me because my mil told him that I'd thrown him away at birth. So he only wants her. I gave up and told my mil I would get an official order for her to adopt him so he can be with her always. My MIL immediately returned him to me and never came by or called ever since. But at every family gathering, she would pull him aside and whisper things to him. The whole family has done and said many things to stop her but she wouldn't listen. And everyone tried talking to my son but he also wouldn't listen to anyone else but my mil. Nowadays, bcs she doesn't come to see him or take him home, my son throws tantrums. He would spray water on our kitchen floor. Slam things around. Break things and tear our sofa. He even hit his older sister and younger brother. He also punched me one time and tried to kick me while I was pregnant. I suffered miscarriage before. I am pregnant now again and I can't really handle the stress. I can feel my stomach hurting everytime he does these things. I can't take it anymore. My husband has tried many things too but he won't listen. He's giving us problems not wanting to go to school and the school thinks we're abusing him instead of listening to the problem despite our several attempts at explaining. He is 11 now and I'm worried things will only get worst from here on. He only wants his grandma and that woman has been whispering all sorts of bull about me n my husband to him.
My mil had a problem when she was young. She loves kids but could never have them. So she started adopting kids. We only found out after she took our son that she had done the same thing with my husband and his brother. She took my husband away from her SIL (who is my husbands biological mother). She has a condition which no one spoke of and she doesn't seem to think she's doing any wrong. She keeps telling me I should be grateful for her bcs no mil would help to take care of my child like she did. But the biggest problem now, is my son seem to think I'm the devil who separated him from the only person who loves him. Can u believe he is 11 and doesn't know how to eat and shower properly on his own? My mil did everything g for him and spoilt him so badly. I just don't know what to do. I tried seeking help with psychiatrist and social services but none followed up. My son seem to put on a show in front of others and that's a scary thing to me.
The whole story is alot longer. But I had to summarise. My husband and I are completely at a loss and don't know what else to do.
- 2024-07-08Hi mummiess.
Can you recommend products to use for viginal care post-childbirth? I heard tucks and freda cooling pad works to soothe the burning sensation. #firsttimemom
- 2024-07-08Have enrolled in the preschool with a better curriculum and found that it's a bit far for everyday commute.
In case of emergency, it's harder for grandparents to fetch the kid. So it'll solely rely on my husband and myself.
How do parents choose preschool? What's your criteria?

- 2024-07-08So I'm at 18weeks now and I've been having this weird metallic taste in my mouth. Feeling very gassy and bloated. I tried eating sour candies and sweets but nothing works. It's a taste I can't get rid of and it's making me brush my tongue too often which in turns makes me want to vomit. 😩😩😩😩
Any advise?

- 2024-07-09Hi #firsttimemom here! Took a pregnancy test kit twice and was tested positive. Should be 5 weeks now. But I have been experiencing spotting/ bleeding only when I pee and wipe. Blood doesn't stain on pad. Went to KKH to do blood test on 2 separate occasions and the hCG level is increasing, but very slowly. From 103 to 182 in two days. Spotting has been ongoing for 9 days now and I am very worried for bad news. My gynae appointment is only next week (as advised week 6).
Help!?
- 2024-07-09Hi first time mummy here!
I’m 30 weeks and I have already max out my MC. Can I request for HL at 30 weeks? Is it too early? I would like to get some rest. I’m working in a preschool setting and my thigh and back is hurting as I’m taking care of 24 months old children so the back pains get tougher now. Also I need to sit down on the floor bcos we need to be on the children’s eye level.
Anyone have any advice on this? I’m under NUH private. I also heard my colleague from the same hospital and under private said that her gynae said it’s hard for them to give HL now and she got 1 week HL instead when she’s already 35 weeks as they need to ask for approval from the high management.
I’m kind of tired too and just need a rest due to my work. #advice #firsttimemom
- 2024-07-09Hi moms I’m a new mom here I was wondering if this is a must for baby cot? I don’t even know what is it for honestly 😭 #advice #firsttimemom
- 2024-07-09#firsttimemom I’m exclusively pumping, not sure if it’s ok to just leave freshly pumped breastmilk at aircon temp for baby’s next feed.
Read online that room temp milk can be used up to 4 hours but best within 2 hours.
Is it better to refrigerate first after pumping then warm it up when need to use? Or is it ok to just leave it outside until baby gets hungry for next feed?
- 2024-07-09What do they usually need you to do besides diet of you fail the 1 hour test but passed the other 2? Is it due to age and slow metabolism?
- 2024-07-09I suddenly noticed alot of pimples/red skin tags looking spots at my chest area. Currently at week 14 going 15. Is it normal? Also noticed alot of skin tags around my tummy. Please help! I am really worried.

- 2024-07-09I’m a new & very excited first time mum who has been TTC for 2 years-ish. I am now 6 weeks pregnant, have already been to the polyclinic to get a referral to SGH for SGH subsidised route. (Initially doct wanted to refer me to KKH, but I requested for SGH.) The poly doctor mentioned it’d take 2 days for SGH to schedule my first SGH appointment date with me via SMS/call but it has been more than a week.
1) Does it take a while for SGH to get back to us? Should I just call SGH?
2) Do we usually get to choose the dates? (Ie. Just wondering cause my husband works shifts.)
3) What should I expect of the first SGH appointment? (Ie. procedures, price.)

Thanks!
- 2024-07-09Is it normal to feel annoyed when you want to care for your LO but the in laws family insists on getting involved? I know they are offering a helping hand but you know ultimately you want to be the one your LO recognise. At this stage, my LO cries when i am taking care and would rather be with my in laws and partner.
Is it just me or is this normal or am I overreacting?
- 2024-07-09Do you get along with your mom during confinement?
I'm someone who likes peace and quiet, but after going through my first confinement, it made me realise it's better to live apart from my mom during confinement.
The problem is that she wanted to help take care during my confinement, and I'm worried there'll be frictions.
How do you deal with your mom during confinement?
- 2024-07-10Didn't consume the recommended dosage of folic acid until week 10 of pregnancy and feeling anxious. Anyone had the same experience and everything turns out fine? 😭
- 2024-07-10Hi mummies, I’m at week 7. I feel super lethargic and I feel super hard to get up and get ready for work.
- 2024-07-10We used nan for mixed feeding and continued until my daughter was 2. She loved it and it helped her grow strong
- 2024-07-10Hi mummies, my baby is turning 3m old soon. He seems to have reflux and tends to spit out milk or even vomits esp when he drinks too fast without pausing. He’s on total breastfeeding (latch). Sometimes he coughs (quite frequent) or chokes on milk.
He seems to have the symptoms of reflux but is gaining weight well. Should I bring him to the PD or spitting and vomiting in babies is normal?
- 2024-07-10Hi everyone! Has anyone travelled multiple flights during a trip when 20+ weeks pregnant? I'm going for a holiday and heading to 3 countries all by which i need to take a plane multiple times over a period of 18 days. The flight to and from SG is quite long about 12 hours but between the other countries it takes abt 2-3 hours. Total will be taking 6 flights altogether. I can't change the name on the flight ticket and if i don't go, its thousands thousands of dollars wasted.
Gynae did not say I couldn't go but am just thinking what to do. For my own mental well being, i really want to go for one last trip before baby is born but if anything were to happen due to the multiple flights or anything happens overseas, i will also regret.
Am at such a loss and any advice will be greatly appreciated.
- 2024-07-10Hi mommies, does any of your baby always cry first before drink the milk? Though it’s already 3-4 hours for the next feeding time.
- 2024-07-10Af due in 4 days. Took cb early detection after 2 days of spottings. Does anyone see the line? Came out 3 mins after test. Lines got darker gradually within 10 mins.
- 2024-07-10FTM, encountered hemerrhoid at my Week 18 for about 2 weeks now. Anyone experience the same and how you deal with it? 🤕
- 2024-07-10My baby is 1 mth old. Feed her 90ml - 100ml every 3hrs. No issues during night times. But during day time, she will sometimes cry for milk every 2hrs. At 2hrs, i will then feed her 60 - 70ml. In this case, can i feed her 90ml 3hrs later? My MIL advise me to feed her every 2hrs in the day and 3hrs at night. Not sure how can i drag from 2hrs in the day to 3hrs at night. Fellow mummies pls advise me am i feeding him right.. how do i know how much to feed my baby?
- 2024-07-10Hi mummies to be, looking for a reputable and good day-time nanny for my child to be at her house for the long run (replacement of infant care). Preferably near potong pasir / bishan area :) Thank you!!
- 2024-07-10At week 33 now and latest blood test results showed that my Hb is still not within the desirable range despite my efforts in loading up iron-rich food the past month (beef almost everyday, pork liver once a week, cherries and dried apricots every other day).
Latest reading is 10.5g/dl (ref range 11.5-16.5) - not sure if I can be happy that it didn’t drop further from the last blood test😅 or be worried that my diet does not seem to be working??
Since young, I have bad reflex reactions when it comes to swallowing pills and hence I am really scared to be taking iron pills now… I will always gag or even throw up. I did stagger any intake of caffeine, dairy products and calcium supplements to be 2hours away from iron supplements too.
Any advice on what else can be done? 🥲
- 2024-07-10Hi all! i suddenly have a brown discharge, all these while has been OK. anyone experience in common & any advice? Thank You! #firsttimemom
- 2024-07-10Any advise on how to stop breastfeeding?
- 2024-07-103 weeks pp and I have been pumping every 3hrs. Till now my max yield is only 70ml but average is still 40-50ml. My bb is drinking 90ml now. Anyone facing the same issue and has tips to boost milk supply? 🥲
- 2024-07-10My Hegen bottles keep leaking I can’t figure out why, anyone else face the same problem before? I’ve tried pressing down the teat cap one side at a time, pressing down both sides together at once with 2 hands but somehow milk still leaks out sometimes I have no idea why. When I close the cap, it feels like it has clicked in but sometimes it still leaks, is mine faulty or am I doing something wrong?
- 2024-07-10Hi mummies, will toddler around 2 years old toothache due to teething?
- 2024-07-10Hello fellow mummies, apologize for reaching out again.
I have been experiencing bleeding since 2am last night along with contractions. Today, when I visited KKH, I was only 1 cm dilated. They advised me to go back home. However, the contractions have intensified during the night... I am contemplating whether I should return and request a C-section or wait until my expected due date, which is Friday. Sleep seems impossible for me at the moment. The reason they refrained from inducing me today is due to my previous C-section, as they mentioned that induction could potentially rupture the previous scar and lead to internal bleeding... My visit today already cost me $115.. I am concerned that if I return today, they might send me back home again, resulting in another wasted trip and more medical expenses... I am uncertain about the best course of action.. Currently, the bleeding is like a menstrual flow.. Is it common to endure contractions (at a pain level of 7-8) for 2 days? It feels unbearable to me. Since my first child was overdue without any pain, I have never experienced natural contractions before.
- 2024-07-10My 1 month old baby slept well at night. I can easily put him to sleep. But during the day, is very hard to get him to nap. He will fall asleep in my arms and i will put him in the cot. But he will wake up shortly (10mins) and cry. I will have to carry him again and this keeps on repeating. I notice he loves to be carried to sleep. I am really tired and worry as i know sleep is important for newborns. Any mummies face this issues and any tips to get him to nap?
- 2024-07-11on 26/6 i was diagnose miscarriage at kkh after i had bleeding, went to private gynae on 29/6 for second opinion the doc say this pregnancy is not going to happend because my baby i growing very slow but i had no more bleeding.. im suppose to be 7 weeks at that time but my bby is only 5weeks plus ... so doctor confirm miscarriage.. ask me to wait for it to come down naturally but till today after nearly 2 weeks i still have not bleed..except past two days i only had brown discharge which does not fill whole panty liner but only in the morning..
i still have the nausea feeling everyday... sore breast..mild abdominal cramp..feeling tired whole day and forever hungry.. all symptoms is still there.. when will the symptoms stop after being diagnose miscarriage?
- 2024-07-11I am staying in the west area, as a subsidised patient, KKH or NUH, which will be the best and suit me.

- 2024-07-11Was wondering when & how is the best way to breakdown the news to your loved ones? (ie baby’s grandparents, friends) Also when should I be telling my manager? At this point, only my husband knows. However, would love the support of my own parents too!
Also would love to hear how different cultures differ when it comes to early announcement superstitions!
- 2024-07-11I am at 5weeks 6days, just went to have my first scan. OB mentioned that the gestational sac is measuring smaller than expected- probably around 4weeks. He mentioned that there is a significant risk of miscarriage. I had two miscarriages previously. Any success stories or similar experiences to share?
- 2024-07-11Im at 7 weeks day 5. Already i fully vomit out my LJS meal after smelling a fruit with a strong scent. Could not take it. Then after that i have a backache that drove me crazy. I just took paracetamol for this. Seems unbearable for now. I need rest. Anyone got it as well?
- 2024-07-11Hey mamas! I'm 6 weeks pregnant now and we'll have our first Antenatal visit next week at KKH. Any advice on what important questions to ask the doctor? What packages do they offer and what's the recommended one? Thank you!! ❤️
- 2024-07-11In my second trimester currently and I'm constantly craving for unhealthy stuff such as fried food, fast food, spicy stuff, chips.. At least eating these a few times a week 😭 never felt so guilty for consuming these in my life. Anyone feels the same?
- 2024-07-11Hi, I am currently week 37. I heard that 3rd trimester needs to drink coconut water . Not sure what’s the reason to drink them. May I know what coconut water to drink? I have gestational diabetes for this pregnancy and my first pregnancy I did not drink any.
- 2024-07-11This is my 4th pregnancy after 6years. Everything has back to square one.
In this 32weeks i find myself cranky all over at home. My elder kids always get a scolding from me because of uncompleted homework. When i told the hubby, he just brushed it off and say, they just being children.
But i get so emotional very fast. Im so tired and torn! Morning sending the kids, Afternoon fetching the kids. Prepare lunch. Then dinner. Intimate moment with my own partner is just out of the story already.
Sometimes i just left the kids screaming and crying while me bursting with tears in the bathroom and lock the door.. ignoring them.. until then the hubby came back and the eldest let the hubby knows.. and scolded me big time.. what the most saddest thing, "ure such a burden making the kids worry!"
Sorry for the long post.. is there any counsellor i can talk to?
- 2024-07-12Hi moms I will be greatful if u guys share ur natural birth story with me because I rlly don’t know what to expect and I’m getting induced at 37 weeks #firsttimemom #inducebaby #naturalbirth #advice

- 2024-07-12Hello all. I recently went for my 9 weeks plus check up at KKH and did the bloodwork for FTS. Was advised to take FTS first and if it's low risk then I don't have to take NIPT. Ultrasound for FTS will be around 3 weeks later at 12 weeks. For mummies who went through the similar process, will KKH inform you beforehand about the results of the bloodwork (both good and bad) before the ultrasound or will they only tell us on the day of ultrasound? I'm wondering if that will push NIPT till top late if its really needed. Thanks in advance!

- 2024-07-12Just did the test yesterday and they can’t find my baby’s nose bone and I am so scared about the report 😭 #secondpreganancy
- 2024-07-12Hospital bag checklist and when to prepare?
- 2024-07-12Hi.. Went for my 2nd appointment few days back and there was no heartbeat so DR said it was a miscarriage. Was kind of zoned out when the DR explained regarding the options and I ended up choosing to wait for it to come out naturally.. Gave me till next monday to come back for another scan and she mentioned if its still inside will give me some meds and 2 days later will have to be admitted.. Can anyone explain the difference between the medicines / surgery? Is the meds for the surgery or is it 2 different procedures?
- 2024-07-12Hi! Any gynea from Mount e novena to recommend pls? :)
- 2024-07-12what should be the baby's position at 20-24weeks?
- 2024-07-12I’m using pigeon softouch size LL and it keeps on tearing at the tip! I think my baby’s teeth is causing it to break. I have been replacing the teats multiple times. I think it’s already been more than 5 pairs 😭 anyone facing similar problems? Is it because baby is just biting on the teat hard? Is the pigeon teat just too soft? I even tried moyuum teat and she breaks them too omg
- 2024-07-12i miscarriage 3weekplus ago ..i just check the pregnancy test im still still very dark positive..when will it start to decrease?
- 2024-07-12It takes a village to raise a child, but I've been doing it all on my own.
Every day since my husband returned to work after his 2 weeks paternity leave, I've been on my own taking care of my newborn. My in-laws live in the east while I live in the west, so I don't expect them to help.
Meanwhile, my family lives just 10 minutes away. Despite that, none of them have come to help me unless I ask for help (and it's hard for me to ask). My mum has previously agreed to look after baby once I return to work, but she hasn't put in any effort to help or learn how my baby wants to be taken care of. When I do ask her to come and help, she isn't proactive and seems reluctant. She then gets tired from helping so proceeds to leave my house after about 4 hours. Seeing this, my husband and I have applied for infant care so my mum wouldn't have to take care of baby once I go back to work.
I still have a few months of maternity leave left. All these while, I've been doing everything on my own without any/much help from my family. My friends are all childless so I have been left behind from outings a few times too.
My family and friends don't check up on me and it makes me sad. When they see me, all they are interested in is the baby. It makes me feel so invisible... My husband tries his best to help once he comes home from work, but I can tell that he's tired so I end up doing most things anyway.
My situation has made me so depressed and I feel so sad and lonely. I know things will get better once baby goes for infant care, but it won't take away the fact that no one has been here for me during these difficult days. My heart is broken and it's more painful than any physical exhaustion. Sigh 😔
Ok thank you for listening to my rant if you made it to the end. Have you ever felt the same?
- 2024-07-12Hi, I'm at 5 weeks-ish. Going for 1st scan on 16th July. But I've been having brown discharge for the past few days. I feel fine, nothing ordinary. I don't have any symptoms as well. Should I be worried?
My pregnancy was confirmed after the 2 weeks wait from the embryo transfer (Natural Thaw Cycle). My HCG blood test was over 2000. Any advise?
- 2024-07-12My 2-month old baby constantly wants to be held all the time and will cry the moment he is being put down to bed, day and night time. I can’t do simple things like going to toilet or have a meal without others helping me to carry him.
Any advice please?
When do babies grow out of this or if they will ever if we always pick them up when they cry?#firsttimemom #firstmom #adviceappreciated #adviceplease #help
- 2024-07-12Anyone knows whats happening to my baby’s foot? Siddenly got alot of small circular dry skin thats peeling. All in small circles. No water inside or anything. He’s coming to 10 months. Its around his toes, bottom of feet and top of feet(some).
Doctor said might be due to recent hfmd rashes drying up, but its getting more. I dont think its from the hfmd rashes cause its gone. We’re currently just putting moisturizer. And i kind of believe now that eh’s crawling fast, it kind of worsen the condition. He doesnt look like in pain, or it doesnt look like a painful blisters.
- 2024-07-12Hi mommies, can you share when does the Moro Reflex or startle reflex go away?
- 2024-07-12My mil dotes on her grandkids, but she always seems to compare my kids to her other grandkids.
I don't want my kids to grow up feeling distant from their cousins cause of this comparing thing.
Eg, she'll ask my kid to recite abcd, who's only 16 months, whereas her other grandkid is already over 2 years old.
I don't know how to approach this topic with my husband tactfully. He'll always brush it off by saying it's normal. #advice please
- 2024-07-12I am at week15 and my bump is slightlyyyy showing now, and I can’t help rubbing my belly every so often and feel happy that my baby is growing day by day.
Will people find me weird if they see me touch/rub my own belly? (they might not know I’m pregnant since it’s still a small bump)
- 2024-07-12Just want to understand why there is such a high recommendation for having a nanny since it only lighten your load for a month, but does not dismiss the fact that you still have a lifetime more to care for your child?
Are there things i did not consider besides just having an helping hand to takecare of your baby only? I just don’t prefer having a stranger albeit experience person to care for my child.
Would like to hear more perspective.

- 2024-07-13Hi mamas, I just tested and I am Covid positive :(
I am going to go see a GP now. I am currently at 23 weeks, very worried for my bb :( Anyone experience Covid during pregnancy? Take care and stay safe everyone! #firsttimemom
- 2024-07-13Hi mommies,
My in-laws are making me feel inadequate all the time since I m formula feeding mostly. My LO is 6 weeks old and I m trying my best to breastfeed her but my supply is so low I only make enough for 1-2 feeds. My in-laws keep taunting me that I m not trying hard enough. It's already so hard to juggle everything and such comments on top make me feel so bad and as a failure. They made a comment that it's like giving McDonald's vs home cooked food and that triggered me a lot.
My baby is happy and fed and I give her whatever bm I m able to make. Isn't being a happy mom more important than killing us over trying to breastfeed??
- 2024-07-13Im always so so sleepy and im currently towards my 2nd tri, i am not sure if its normal. having nauseous constantly whenever i see or smell fruits!! i went to check so far baby growing & heart beat is normal as well... ive been very2 tired to get up & get ready for work. any one can suggest how i can boost my energy and overcome my lethargic? 😅#advice

- 2024-07-13I’m 16w FTM and I still constantly feel hungry, get nauseas / sick if I don’t eat. I eat 3-4 main meals (rice / noodles) daily instead of small meals and I’m still really hungry all the time, I need a snack every 2-3 hours regardless of what I ate for my meals. I’ve gained a lot of weight because of this and it’s very noticeable, my mom tells me I’ve put on too much weight too and it’s making me very conscious. I’m afraid i have bad self control or if this is abnormal. I’m also afraid of being unable to lose the weight after birth. Any moms have suggestions on what I can do? Is this normal? I do try to walk around a bit everyday when I can, and I try to eat healthier snacks like fruits and keep my meals to food that is not fried. I have already gained 7kg.
- 2024-07-13Hi anyone from NUH sub patient here? At which week does the doctor refer you to Endo Pregnancy Clinic for Diabetes check? I have been referred after my prenatal blood test result is out and I'm worried it might be my result came out high risk but upon checking the lab result I don't see any test under diabetes. Read most people was referred at wk20-24 however I was referred on week 12. It seems early. Anyone face the same? Is this a normal procedure to check gestational diabetes on Wk 12? Should I be worried that I'm of high risk?
