Comparison among cousins

My mil dotes on her grandkids, but she always seems to compare my kids to her other grandkids. I don't want my kids to grow up feeling distant from their cousins cause of this comparing thing. Eg, she'll ask my kid to recite abcd, who's only 16 months, whereas her other grandkid is already over 2 years old. I don't know how to approach this topic with my husband tactfully. He'll always brush it off by saying it's normal. #advice please

If your husband is not reliable enough, you have to stand up for your LO and bypass your husband. Let your mil know that your child is only 16m and is trying his or her best to pick up and let her know that constant comparing will affect your child, especially when they start to have their own thoughts. At the same time, let her know that you know she loves all grandchild equally and you really appreciate her but give your LO some time. Slowly let her stand in your shoes and understand your POV.
