- 2023-11-13Hi mummies, my baby's hair keeps getting knots in the morning after a long night sleep. Her hair is really fine and even the shorter hair gets knots too. We don't really want to cut it short as we don't want her bald. Any mummies faced the same and found solutions to reducing the knots?

- 2023-11-13My mummies, im currently using baby playpen as baby cot, like those joie ones that have 2 levels, up and down. However once baby is few months old or coming to a year old and already attempting to climb up things or stand while holding the playpen sides, do you bring down the mattress to the bottom level? And let them sleep at the bottom level also?
Do you have difficulty carrying them out or in from that level ?
Fyi my bb is coming to 2 months just want to know in advanced

- 2023-11-13Hi mummies, wanted to check if u feed ur little ones with freshly expressed breast milk or those that were freeze earlier? Currently I’m expressing and feeding on the same day, if there are excess will freeze them. Though frozen breast milk can be stored for up to 6months, but I’m just wondering if I should constantly be clearing the older stash of breast milk, then freeze “fresher” breast milk instead.

- 2023-11-13Hey Mummies, is it normal to be bleeding 2 weeks after giving birth still? Like still using pad?
- 2023-11-13My 1.5mth LO has been scratching his face very badly, especially when he's tired or hungry. We've cut his nails ,but all the swiping he keeps doing still left his face all red and peeling. I don't think I can keep having him wear mittens already. Any idea what to do?
During the night, we tried swaddling him to stop his hands from scratching, but when we unswaddled him for feedings, he scratches and swipes very furiously, and gets very upset from being woken. Before we swaddled him, there wasn't this issue. He would drink his milk and go back to sleep peacefully.
- 2023-11-14Hi my baby was in 90th percentile when he’s 1 & 2 months old. 3 months onwards he’s been drinking very little and didn’t gain much weight. He’s coming to 4 months old now and he’s now around 50-75th percentile.
Wondering any mummies experience the same situation whereby baby not gaining weight? His weight has been the same for 1 month from 3 months onwards, is that ok?
Baby used to be able to drink up to 1100ml per day. Now average he drink only 450-580ml. He’s on both bm and formula

- 2023-11-14My 3 month old hates car rides. We have had to send her to and fro IFC daily by car but most of the time, she will be fussing and crying badly in the car. Journey is not long but she still hates it especially when the car stops. It has been a month already and she is still not used to it. She does not take the pacifier and usually just spits it out. Toys and talk also does not usually work. What else can i do to get her to at least be quiet for the journey?
- 2023-11-14I'm 14 weeks pregnant now. My gynae arranged for a urine test as my dip test detected excess protein. My protein and creatinine levels came out higher than the acceptable ranges. As my blood pressure has consistently been normal and I don't have any UTI/kidney failure symptoms, my gynae reassured me that it might be contaminated by vaginal discharge and arranged another urine test for my appointment next month. Can't help but worry 😭anyone in a similar situation?

- 2023-11-14Anyone experiencing stinging or burning pain on pelvic bone? Am at week 33 now
- 2023-11-14Assuming of cos the baby is in right position, no underlying issues and doctor gives go ahead for natural birth.
Oh I’ve low pain tolerance 🥲 and possibly want to choose date of birth
I do not want a planned c sec before week 39. So I’ve to lean towards a natural birth. There might be a few scenarios
1. Natural baby comes before week 39
2. Induce, natural or Plan c sec after week 39 before week 40
3. Induce, natural? Plan c sec after week 40 ??
I like option 3 😂
Can you share your experiences on why you needed e c sec even tho doc cleared for natural birth? And at what week?
Is it true that once baby poops inside it is confirmed e c sec?
Once water bag breaks, can still do c sec?
- 2023-11-14Hello! FTM here. Can I check is it normal for my 2 weeks newborn to sleep with mouth open... She is also extremely fidgety when sleeping - she would kick around her hands and legs for ~30mins. It seems worrying..it happens only at night. She sleeps a lot in the day though..

- 2023-11-15Hi mummies, just curious. Im a ftm, gave birth via e-csect 2 months ago. For now not leaning towards birth control but condoms during non ovulation days. Was wondering, when you go staycay or out of the country, do you bring always along condoms just to be safe ?
And when out of condom, do you do the pull out method or abstain?
Not planning to conceive anytime soon.

- 2023-11-15Just random. Hi mummies with babies, esp newborn, anyone went to their mum’s place everyday or most days when their husband goes to work
I gave birth 2 months ago via emergency csect. My first baby. Ive been staying with my in law ever since married and never once stayed over at my mum’s. I also did confinement at my in laws since im staying there. I find myself always thinking about my pain and depression there, im always crying every single day. I was having post partum blues, i hated my baby i hated motherhood, esp when my husband already started working, i cried everytime he had to go to work, despite my in law still at home.
Last few weeks i decided to go to my mum’s place every weekday when my husband’s working, my in law also started working but half day. And i realised, i feel happier here, and my mental health is better. I did not cry anymore and started to love my baby? And then i decided and told my husband that i want to go to my mum’s whenever he goes to work, until my ML ends, which he happily agreed.
But im scared im the only person that relies on my mum when it comes to caring for baby. Im scared i wont be independent as im always here and my mum’s been a great help. I do most of the baby stuff tho. Just curious if theres any mums out there, esp first time mum, who goes to their mum’s place whenever their husband is not at home. Just so theres a third person to help with baby.

- 2023-11-15Im so sad i am almost 2 months PP, my tummy still looks bloated and very flabby 😔 not only the lower tummy but the whole tummy. i thought i was one of those that will get flat tummy back after birth as im slim but nope. Even after PP massage i still have that tummy. Looks like im 3-4 months preggy. Im so jealous of mothers who have flatter tummy. And whenever i go out and i see mummies with their newborn/infant i cant help but to compare their tummy size. Theyre always flatter.
Also, i went thru csect, and not bfinh. not sure if its possible to get flat tummy back. I really hate my body esp when i sit the tummy is very obvious. Is exercising the only way to get flatter tummy and also diet? Will it naturally shrink down ?
Im petite and slim but because of this tummy i always need to buy bigger pants, like xl? I can only fit my maternity pants thats either stretchable or have adjustable waist. Really demoralizing

Can I know… when you started to cut down your food intake did you instantly meet the desired sugar level (at least below 7) or it takes times? Like after 1 week thats the time the sugar become stable and lower. 🥺🥺🥺🥺

- 2023-11-16Hi mummies, ftm here, my baby will start IFC next month at 2 months+ and i cant help but to feel sad and very anxious. Like i wont get to meet him for long period of hours, especially once my ML ends. I wont get updates, idk what he’s doing, how he’ll be treated, what if he cries non stop, will they ignore him, will something bad happen to him. Breaks my heart thinking all of these or am i just overthinking😔 what if he’s looking for me and cant find me.
Do your babies adapt well to ifc, do they cry when sending off. And how often in a week do you send them.
I dont think i can focus well at work knowing that i will have no updates about my baby from early morning till evening. And the fact that ill only get to see my baby at night till early morning🥹
#firstbaby #firstmom
- 2023-11-16Hi mummies, those that send their babies to IFC, and have yet to start back work, how many hours or how long did you send your baby to IFC? For the first week how many hours and days per week, and do you increase the hours and days per week gradually ?
Can i send and fetch my baby anytime between the operating hours or theres a time period like i can only fetch after 12 or so.
And for first day i heard either parents will have to be there at the centre with their baby for half a day, usually half a day is until what time ?
#firstmom #firstbaby
- 2023-11-16Hi mommies, my baby will be starting IFC at 2 months+ he’s formula fed.
Mummies who feed their babies formula, usually how many servings do you pack for your baby and how many bottles?
Will they wash and sterilise the bottles at the centre ? Esp in the event theres not enough bottles.

- 2023-11-16Dear mummies...
I'm 6 mths pregnant and recently my HDB block undergone painting works. Particularly at the lobby the smell was strong on one of the days so I quickly tried to "escape" to another area while waiting for the lift. The smell was lighter (in wafts). As the painters push the paint ard sometimes I'll get wafts of it while I'm heading downstairs. Wondering if there's any cause of concern as I understand paint fumes are harmful for baby... very concerned. Pls advise..
- 2023-11-16Anyone has experience with baby still looking yellowish at 1.5 months? Previous PD said baby’s jaundice has peaked and is going down but we saw new PD today who commented baby still looking yellow. May need to do blood test to ensure liver is okay… ☹️
- 2023-11-16Hi mummies, my baby boy is coming to 2 months and fully formula fed. At night, most days he’ll only wakeup 4 hours for milk. But there are days where he’ll sleep until 7-8 hours. Is it normal and should i just leave it ? I did read online during this time they may sleep longer at night 6 - 8 hours or so.
He’s more awake during the day, and feeds more often like 1.5 - 2hours.
He’s still gaining consistent weight, 5+kg.

- 2023-11-17Hi all,
Looking for postnatal massage recommendations.
I've tried two freelance masseurs for prenatal and both experiences were bad. Both spilled oil all over my place and bed (even when it's covered). And one was burping like 200 times or more throughout the session and claimed she took the wind from me. (honestly I was so traumatised by this).
I have been looking at agencies and both freelance ones, and prefer malay jamu style with traditional bengkung, jamu cream, sengkak (womb uplifting), lactation massage and bonus if they do baby massage as well. Also prefer someone who is able to bring portable bed and towels.
Any recommendations on freelance masseurs and possible feedbacks on the agencies listed below pls.
1. PNSG. Postnatal massage singapore
2. CK Bidan (they are slightly on the pricier side so wouldn't want to make wrong decision)
3. Pamper me jamu wellness
Currently already in 3rd trimester. Urgently looking to secure one. Thanks in advance

Thinking if I should go GP for blood test to find out how many weeks in etc.
- 2023-11-17I went for my 20wk scan yesterday. Everything was normal, except the doctor saw that the images of my baby kidneys were 'bright'. They call this echogenic kidneys.
Because of this, she wanted a repeat scan in two weeks time. She said this imaging could be either of two things.
1. A normal variant- which means on imaging, it looks slightly different but functionally baby kidneys are ok.
2. Suspected polycystic kidney disease- which is a rare genetic condition where there are numerous cysts in baby's kidney, impairing kidney function. The prognosis is bad and heartbreaking.
At this stage nothing is confirmed. The doctor said if the repeat scan still shows echogenic kidneys, I can confirm w a genetic testing by amniocentesis and decide what to do from there. Or I could choose not to do amniocentesis and continue w the pregnancy, because it might after all be a normal variant.
Both my husband and I have no family history of kidney disease but I am aware now, that we might be carriers of it, without having the condition. I feel upset but more so, I feel sorry for my baby at his prospects if this is all true.
Does anyone have a similar experience? Please link me up if you know of anyone who has had a similar experience 🙏

- 2023-11-17Currently at week 6. Since week 4, I haven’t been sleeping well every now and then. Some days I could sleep but some days I found myself keep waking up in the middle of night. I tried to rest as much as possible but just don’t feel well rested without good sleep. Anyone has same problems and any tips to improve sleep? #firsttimemom #advicepls

- 2023-11-17Hi mummies, how long should i do tummy time for my 2 months old baby? He’s still not able to lift his head and would cry murder every tummy time which lasted 2-3 mins only. How many times a day and how long each session. Any other ways to tummy time other than flat on tummy on bed or floor.
Ive tried putting black white cards infront bt he can’t lift his head to look at it yet.
If baby cry murder should i stop or leave him.
However when i carry him over shoulder he likes to lift his head off my shoulder. Is that considered as strengthening his neck too?

- 2023-11-17Hi mummies, stupid question, but is it common to not follow through with the same gynae till the end? I mean, I'm intending to be with my current gynae to do checkups till I deliver, but I choose to deliver at another hospital with another gynae. Is that okay? Sorry first time mum here, so there are lots I'm unsure of.

- 2023-11-17Hi Mummies, how do you find time to pump? I find it hard to find time to pump as my baby tends to get fuzzy and likes to be held most of the time. I don't have help in taking care of the baby too.
When my husband goes to work, i don't have extra pair of hands to take care of the baby. By the time i put my baby sleep, it is almost the next feeding. Most of the time, i try to rush to do the home chores too.
I nurse my baby on demand and as often as i could but, my breast milk seems to be low so i will topup with formula milk. Whenever i tried to pump now, i could only yield 10ml at most.
My baby is 7 weeks. Is it too late for me to boost my milk supply? Im really worried as i want to be able to feed my baby breastmilk too when he goes to infant care.#pleasehelp #firsttimemom
- 2023-11-17Anyone stopped breastfeeding at 4-5m postpartum? I've always been a just-enough supply mum and my supply dropped tremendously recently. I'm 4.5m post partum and find it stressful and tiring to continue. But i also feel guilty for wanting to stop. Not sure if I should take this "opportunity" to slowly stop breastfeeding? Just want to hear from fellow mums on their dilemma and what is the eventual choice taken.

- 2023-11-18Hi mummies, those using white noise be it the machine itself or from your phone. At what volume do you set? Low volume or loud ? Or just loud enough for baby to hear ?
- 2023-11-18I am 2 months PP, e-csect, do not wish to go on birth controls due to the side effects. Aside from condom, any mummies did the pull out method during non ovulationg days and successfully be pregnant-free for a while?
And by non ovulation days, does the days leading up to ovulation, called “fertile period” considered as non ovulation days ? Only when you ovulate then you avoid doing the deed?
Pls dont bash.

- 2023-11-18I recently enrolled my 2 months old baby to ifc and he will be starting next month. When filling up the registration form, he was only 1 month and some information might be abit different now. Eg in the form i stated that he’s feeding every 3 hours (back when he was 1 month old) but now at 2 months old he’s feeding more often 1.5hrs - 2hrs.
How do i inform the IFC on the change of information in the form? Or i can just inform the teachers during his first day?

- 2023-11-18Any mummies enrolled their baby in Infant Care at around 2-3 months? Do the IFC do tummy time for our babies?
- 2023-11-18Is it normal for 2 months old to sleep/nap lesser during daytime + evenings and more awake?
Last time most of the time he used to sleep after feed, or atleast most of the feeds, but now at 1month+ coming to 2 months, he’s more awake during daytime + evening. There are times when he would nap 2 hours+ but sometimes he would nap only for 30 mins and sometimes he would be awake for hours during daytime. We have tried to rock him to sleep, swaddle, white noise etc he would still refuse to sleep.
Is it normal?
He would only sleep long stretch 3-4 hours or sometimes until 6-7 hours, during night after 10-11pm
- 2023-11-18Anyone encountered such situation? Am I too petty or emotional? Currently at 3rd week PP - natural birth. Went through close to 20 hrs of labor & had 2nd degree tear.
Recovery took quite a while and husband's family often will see that my husband is taking care of the baby during the day since I'm in confinement and in pain - they will make unnecessary comments like "the dad is better at taking care of the baby" "the baby is mostly taken care of by the dad - he is good at handling".
This really irks me and pissed me off. I still diligently Pumped every 2 hrs so baby can have breastmilk as she doesn't want to latch much, and then every night I will carry her whenever she cries. In the day I will help out also with my husband for baby's shower and feeds.
My husband is really wonderful I admit, in terms of helping out and stuffs, but I really hates it when these unnecessary comments were made and I will cry, thinking that I am actually not doing a good job and as if the mother doesn't play a part at all?

- 2023-11-18Hi mummies, when doctor talking about let's say drink 90ml formula, are we talking about 90ml water then add milk powder or after adding powder the mixture to be 90ml?
- 2023-11-18Some nights 4months+ baby can sleep in his cot & wakes up around 4-5am to sleep with me (in fact, on me because he loves body contact). On other nights he will cry no matter how I pat him, he would sleep better when sharing bed with me & my husband. I wanted him to sleep safely but I couldn’t figure out why he sleeps better on our bed than in his cot. Is it sleep regression or he’s just a clingy baby? #firstmom #firstbaby #firsttimemom #help
- 2023-11-18As a person who does not usually enjoy massages, is post natal massages necessary for recovery of the womb? Is it effective ? How many sessions and who did you engage? Or did you not do it and you still managed to recover just as well
- 2023-11-18my lo has been coughing for a few weeks.
it started out with runny nose first week, no see doctor.
2nd week went see doc then no lung infection, given nose drops. stopped runny nose and chesty cough in day .
3rd week, only at night now has continously cough. but feed milk then will stop. if never feed milk will keep coughing and sucking hands but still able to sleep.
Doctor say is too long and need antibiotics if 2nd week didn't cure. but I feel cough is just ok, bb goes infant care anyways and hard to cure fully.
ifc say if antibiotics, she will likely have watery stools and will be sent home.
should I still bring her to see doc and get antibiotics for the 3rd week?
I have tried all cough patch, onion patch, garlic balm, lemon bath, chest rubs. all no use 🫠
to me I don't mind the cough and doctor keep saying lungs are clear and she seems generally happy.
