Kkh appt wait time after polyclinic referral
Hi! Can I know for those who got referral from polyclinic, how long till they contacted you for your appt and how long later was the appt? Do they schedule you based on when you get referral or based on how many weeks you are at? Tried finding but the answers were all years ago trying to get a more updated estimate Ftm here , so nervous for my first appt, hoping it can be soon Thank you!
Breastfeeding and post partum
I gave birth to my son in march and since my discharge, life at home has been drastically different. The first few days were the toughest. I remember just continuously crying to my husband because every damn thing came at once. Handling baby, pumping, having sore nipples, rock hard breasts, low supply and little sleep...it was just so overwhelming. I expected it to be hard but not to this extent... One of the most stressful part of this experience is breast feeding. Since my son had to stay in the hospital for a while, he was bottle fed there. Given this he has developed preference for bottle. So when I went home, he refused my breast. Once, I forcefully gave him my breast, and he bruised my nipple. It was so pain and frankly the only reason why I kept trying was because my husband and in law was giving me a shitty hard time, saying that formula is not as good and that I should try to breastfeed. I honestly resent them in that moment because they have no idea what I was going thru. My breast was hurting and all they kept saying was just try and try to breastfeed, invalidating my feelings. Dear mothers I don't wish to scare you but please take care of yourself during post partum. There is no denying that it will be stressful. My husband during pregnancy was so thoughtful and caring. Now he still is but of course with the baby, priority goes to baby. I won't fault him. Things are different w a baby. Try to get as much help from your parents/family/friends. Get confinement food sorted. Get someone to help w the night shift. It's going to be tough but honestly when we walk out of this, there's really nothing else we mothers can't do. We give birth to a human baby (with no epi), have stitches, walk the next day, pump for our lil one every 3 hours and run on very very little sleep. I love my husband but men really have no idea what we go through...

miscalculate my pregnancy... thought it was preterm labour
At just 8 months into my pregnancy... I suddenly felt intense cramps. Contractions all night long. I was terrified of going into premature labor. Coincidentally, I had been doing some heavy activity that day... and was a bit tired. I immediately went to the hospital with my husband. And you know what? Turns out I was really about to give birth. And want to know more? Turns out my pregnancy was actually 9 months! I was a month ahead of my estimate not because of premature birth, but because of MISCALCULATION......... oh my, I felt so relieved because I had actually planned to go on vacation before giving birth. But luckily, I was still at home and had easy access to the hospital. Be careful and always make sure your pregnancy is safe, parents. Anyone had a similar experience?
Which breast pump is the best?
I’m a FTM and I’m very lost on how do we know which brand of breast pump is the best? Eg. Hegen VS medela? Is there actually a mummy crash course on this kind of stuff where we get to learn tips and tricks for choosing baby items? Appreciate any advice. Thank you.
Scdf or taxi?
From my past 3 pregnancy when contraction hits me I manage to rush by taxi to kkh reach kkh within 20min I give birth.now having no.4...since my place quite sometime to get taxi but neighborhood scdf post is just opposite my place. Should I call the scdf since they are more certified if I were to give birth along the way or just stick to taxi?
