- 2024-04-15Hello! Can anyone advise how they handled NIPT/iGene screening at the same time as applying for maternity insurance? Cause NIPT usually done at 12 weeks and maternity insurance you can only apply at 13 weeks. I am afraid what if I get my results back before my insurance coverage is approved. Would I be barred from making a claim if turns out my baby has chromosomal abnormalities? Anyone have experience to share please?

- 2024-04-15Hi mummies. Ftm here. I have this jelly like thick discharge for 3 days. I did some research and it looks like mucus plug. It says some may exp a full blop while some exp gradually discharge of the plug. I'm in 34 weeks. Is this normal? I went to kkh but the dr say she not sure what it is. Claim might be inf. But I told her I had intercourse the day before then she suddenly say then it could be the semen. But I told her I had done before this so it doesn't came out like that from my VJ. The doctor just brush me off. I literally paid 500 just to clarify with Dr but she first say not sure what it is claim to be infection then told me it was semen. Can any exp mummies here tell me what is this and if I should be worried?

- 2024-04-17Anyone’s 6 months old suddenly reject pacifier? He’s been using the same type of pacifier since birth and he loved it. But suddenly he hates it.
He kept rejecting. Either he will lock his lips or spit out the pacifier. Its so hard to soothe him now.
Please dont tell me its good that he dont want pacifier, its easier to wean off. Nope, doesnt make things better by ssying that. I rather wean him off at a later stage, than to deal with a crying baby.
Sometimes one of his ways to self soothe is to suck and pull his burp cloth.
- 2024-04-17Hi mummies,
FTM at 6 weeks now and my first appt is this Friday.
I’m slightly confused on the prenatal checks.
How often do you guys go for checks ? And do we get to do ultrasound during every check up?
Is there a difference between going to a private clinic compared to public hospital like KKH in terms of quality of checks, the things they check etc ?
- 2024-04-17Hello Mummies!
FTM here.
I’m a little confused over the private doctors who has their own clinic for example at Mt A / Mt E etc and the doctors are public hospital.
The costs are not that different right? I saw someone saying KKH hospital’s consultation charges are also quite expensive?
If so, can someone help to explain what the differences are other than the waiting time ?
- 2024-04-17Hi all. Can I check if any of you start jogging after 6 weeks of delivery? I'm feeling good and all set to do light exercises to lose those fats gained. 🙃
- 2024-04-17I wake my 1week baby up for feeding session every 3-4hours. She's not always fully awake during the feeding session. Is this safe and ok? After feeding, I tried to burp her too while she's still sleeping.
- 2024-04-17Sadly I do not have enough breast milk supply. So right now what I'm doing is 1st time formula, 2nd time breast milk, 3rd time formula, 4th time breast milk.
Am wondering if it's ok to do it this way? Will baby get used to formula and not want my breast milk? I was intending to go back to full breast milk after I have more..
- 2024-04-17Anyone knows whether it's alright to bathe baby while baby's sleeping? Thanks!
- 2024-04-17Any mummies same as me?

- 2024-04-17Leaking breast milk at 37 weeks?
As the leaking it’s not milky white like colostrum, it’s like clear white watery discharge(clear + little bit of white). Is it normal? Should I see doctor I’ve been having this type of watery discharge since 34 weeks
And tmi.. can I ask if usually the milk comes out of 1 hole? Is it because I’ve ezcema hence it’s coming out of many holes on my nipple?
I’m so confused… please help me out
- 2024-04-17When I was pregnant, I used to scroll through this forum and read stories of horrible MILs with my husband. My MIL had taken good care of me while I was pregnant, but after reading those stories I did speak with my husband of my expectations once I've given birth and the boundaries to set for my MIL, even though she seems nice and generous.
Now that I've given birth, goodness gracious. I can't help but feel so affected by everything she says and does. First few times, I could still close one eye and one ear. But as the days go by, there must always be something wrong with the way I choose to handle my baby. It's either I'm holding or carrying him wrongly, or I'm swaddling him wrongly, etc. I cannot stand when she pulls out the old wives tales of not kissing certain parts of the body because the child will grow up stubborn, naughty, whatever nonsense. Like, make it make sense??? Also since she's so old school, she had so much to say when she saw me doing tummy time with my baby. She was almost livid but I was steadfast and told her it was okay and safe, but she didn't agree. And also questioning why I'm using the visual cards and whether they are even useful for baby. And what is privacy anymore when she walks in and out of my personal bedroom when I've half naked breastfeeding my baby? And all these within two weeks of giving birth.
I don't know how to handle more weeks of this since I'll serving my full 44 days confinement and I'm not even halfway through. I'm scared I'll start being mean and disrespectful as time goes by. Our plan was that she will take care of my baby once my ML ends, but I'm thinking twice now. I've spoken to my husband and he says that he will talk to her, but I worry he'll say the wrong things and end up creating more friction between the both of us.
Not exactly searching for any advise per say as I know it's different for different people. But I just need to rant before I go mad 🤬😪

- 2024-04-18I need to bun up my hair at work and it worsens the hair fall due to the pulling and long hours binned up hair. my work environment is super humid and thus shoulder length hair would be worse. can mummies that experienced this drop the hair loss products you used and if they helped? also anybody out there used mama's choice shampoo/conditioner combi? it's sold out on shopee and I can't find anywhere else to buy. I'm wondering if that is really good.
- 2024-04-18Hello mommies! Just curious… May I know if you would allow any of your friends if they want to be your kid’s God Mother? Are there any expectations for being a God Mother to your kid?
My friend wants to be my kid’s God Mother but she has never check up on me or my kid during my pregnancy. She even forgot my kid’s special milestones (gender reveal, EDD month etc). I even reminded her on the dates several times.
What would you do? 🤔
- 2024-04-18My girl is 4m21d. And her sleep schedule is very messed up. She is refusing to sleep and night. Keeps playing and rolling around. And sleeping 10-12hrs in the day. She will sleep at around 4-6am and wake up around 3-5pm. When i try to wake her up to play she will be upset. After bath time in the day she will nap even better and hence sleep longer.
Is this 4month regression? As she was sleeping very well all along, going to bed at 6-7pm waking at 8-9am. She still wants to go to sleep at 7pm still but will wake up around 12-2am and refuses to go back to sleep. We tried delaying her bed time but she will start crying.
- 2024-04-18My baby is 6 Month she has been exclusive breastfeeding wver since she's born but suddenly she doesn't want to latch on with me and its alrd been 7 hrs , I was so worried, she just bite and pull and never even suck on it, In the end i had to give thru pump and bottle and she drink. - 2024-04-18I am supposed to be on my 9th week but when I went for my ultrasound the radiologist did a usual scan later changed to transviginal ultrasound. She asked me to take a deep breath and the foetus heart wasn’t beating and the size is on week 6. Should I go for a second opinion or accept the fact that I have lost the baby?

- 2024-04-18Hi mummies, I’m a ftm & I have an appt tomorrow(38+4), can I request for induction? No health issues or whatsoever. But it’s because it’s too tiring for me & I have a hard time breathing sometimes. Not too sure if I am dilated or not either, hoping they’d check tomorrow. If I am, would I be warded?

- 2024-04-19Hi Ladies! My LO is 5 months and is pure breastfed. She can take around 5-6 bottles of 150mL of breastmilk from 7-7, when I'm at work. and breastfeed on demand right after. On weekends, i nurse her. She usually wakes once MOTN but can only take around 50-70mL of milk.
Just had a doctor's check and she said that the baby's weight and growth is a bit low. 😓 although just a week ago she did had a flu. But the weightlost, if any, wouldnt be that much, right?
How do you guys usually do about this? Do you give them any supplements?
I thought she was latching/feeding well because her diaper output is usually within 6-8 times per day with 2-4 times of pooping. 😓 Now, i started worrying. Any advice?

- 2024-04-19Hello mummies
I’m hoping someone can give me some reassurance.
Today was my 1st gynae consultation. Doc did vagina scan and said I have multiple blood clots in the uterus. He said the yolk sac is there and the gestational sac is there but seem a little small (seems like a 4 week sac rather than 6 weeks) based on my first day of last period.
However, I told him my cycle is usually longer than 30days, sometimes I get period on the 38th or 39th day due to my age (40). He then said maybe I ovulated later so I am actually later than I thought.
Just wondering if anyone had experience with multiple blood clots and would that affect the baby ? Thanks all!
I’m a FTM so am Pretty worried
- 2024-04-19Im not a muslim but my husband's family are. My Mother in law suggested that my daughter needs to be circumcised. My husband and I doesnt agree with it. But my mother in law is quite persistent. Does clinic who do circumcision verify parents permit before they proceed? Im a bit scared now to leave my baby alone with my in law.
- 2024-04-19Hi there, I'm a FTM here... and was just wondering at which age do you all introduce water to your little one? Would they be able to consume water?
- 2024-04-19Dear all,
My 1m23d son has a fever since 12/4/24 morning at about 6am. It was as high as 38.6 armpit temp. My wife got a little panic and ask to send him to the hospital. I tell her to calm down and I tried kangaroo care my baby till his next feed.
*We muslim believe that skin to skin with child's father can cure minor fever or temperature hike for a baby.*
But after his next feed, his temperature maintained at 38.6. So I decided to send my son to children emergency for further checks. After some checks, my son was diagnosed with RSV, urine infection and a cough. So he stayed for 3 days under nurses and doctor care. He got some medicine to help with his infections too.
So after his stay in the hospital, his temperature was back to 37.1 through the whole day and night. Doctor discharged him but advice us that day 5, his temperature might spike again if not properly taken care off and advice us to return back to the hospital if it cannot be managed. So now his temperature only spike at night and well maintained in the morning/afternoon.
I got some advices coming from the old tradision ways like sponging ice water at his armpit, damp room temperature water on his forehead, to the new modern ways like cool fever every part of his body. Both of these methods do not encourage to bathe my son because it will spike his temperature.
I also made my personal researched where now it's stated that it's best to bathe my son with lukewarm water with lemon if any to stabilized his body temperature. Get him in a light clothing and let him rest.
What I am looking for is the best way to treat my son because I don't wish to see him this weak and restless. He seems lethargic. I miss my dose of happiness. His smiles and his little giggles he always make.
