Recently I came across with this Confinement Album in Facebook and the owner uploaded graphic pictures for references: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.739689529498226.1073741836.354120548055128&type=3 The dishes look yummy and nutritious for confinement. I have already bookmarked the link and will let my mother have it for references during my coming confinement. Alternatively, you can purchase pre-pack confinement herbs to boil the soups such as Eu Yan Sang which costs about 290.

My hubby did my confinement for me and we had simple dishes. I hate eating many confinement dishes and feel that it is not needed to have any confinement nanny as hubby is able to bath for baby and I'm breastfeeding. Pig Trotter's in Vinegar is a must. Get some herbs prior to your delivery for daily dose of soup. Alternatively, you can eat vegetables, pork, fishes, etc ... so long as you need to put ginger, sesame oil which is the most important.

My mother in law cooked for me. What she did mainly was to add more ginger. She did cook some 'confinement dishes' like vinegar pork, red yeast food. I told her i dislike confinement food just cook normally like she would just add fried ginger by the side

This is a good resource too for confinement recipes: http://sg.theasianparent.com/category/becoming-a-mum/confinement/confinement-recipes/ My mother-in-law cooked fish for me every day. It would have been nice to have some variety!

I cooked myself, ermm.. I didnt do anytjing particular. Lol. I ate any and everything. Wish i had someone to cook for me. *sob sobs* but i heard a lot of old people saying to take lots of ginger. Not sure if thats a myth.

I had no one at all. What I did was I use a slow cooker to make soup for myself. Simple soup, abc soup, or I Fry chicken with ginger, steam fish with spring onion really simple and basic meals.
