- 2024-07-22Hi mommies. I Js came back from Jb, had to cut my trip SHORT because I couldn’t tahan the polluted air over there. Anyways I’ve developed cough , sore throat and running nose ( it burns when I breathe, yesterday I was coughing so much till it triggered a migraine. Quite worried also as my lungs hurts so much when I cough) Should I go see a doctor? Google is not very helpful and reassuring. It says might or might not affect baby. I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant and want to avoid any kind of medication. What do u guys advise? Any recommended home remedies?

- 2024-07-22Hi mummies, my baby girl just turned one on 17 July 2024. Went for development assessment at polyclinic and Doc said my baby girl is overweight at 12kg and her head circumference and height is also more than 97 percentile.
Was referred to KKH for paediatric advice on diet and weight management.
Polyclinic Doc also said my baby development is slow because she cannot stand and take a few steps. I was like huh? because my baby just turned one and is still learning to stand and she can stand for like 8 to 10 secs, though baby cannot walk yet.
I am quite disagreeable ( ok a lil angry ) with the Doc assessment because she said my baby is slow in development.
My sis baby only started walking at 14 months and childcare teacher also said some kids started walking at 13 to 15 months.
Now have to go for extra appointment at KKH, which I feel is Doc being paranoid and causing me stress. 😓

- 2024-07-23Does all deliveries c section/ natural got to insert catherer by default? I heard after epidural wear off, it’s super painful(worst than delivery itself) and uncomfy. Any chance we can skip that part? 🥲
- 2024-07-23#firsttimemom at 6W, just completed first gynae visit but not really vibing with the doctor (felt that the doc charged a huge markup on tests).
Any recommendations for a patient female doctor who’s willing to answer questions, and will act in patient’s best interest? Thanks!

- 2024-07-23Am looking insurance for my pregnant wife. Checked around a little. The covers seems to be for very specific and few things and the cover also very little? Paying $399 for $5000 max pay out. Are all insurance plans like this?
- 2024-07-23I'm at week 10 of pregnancy. Initially in the earlier weeks I was constipated. Last week I suddenly started getting stomachache with loose stools. And in recent days my stomachache tends to happen when I'm sleeping at night around 2-3am. The stomachache is very painful, feels like a bad case of food poisoning but pain usually goes away after clearing bowels. Anybody who had something similar or know why this is happening?
- 2024-07-23Hi

- 2024-07-23I had a miscarriage last Feb. I recently tested positive. Is it normal to feel no symptoms other than slight cramp and sore boobs? This is totally different from my first lost - morning sickness which is on an other level. Having no symptoms make me anxious and worried if it will be a repeated loss as I’m still early and have not seen a gynae

- 2024-07-23Hi mummies, was just wondering if you guys have done the harmony test and if we will receive the e-report on the sing-health buddy app. I took it on 11th july, till now no calls and no reports shown. My next appt is on the 1st aug.
- 2024-07-23Hi moms..I need some advise
I just done the fetal test for my baby today. Iam 20wks pregnant, 1st time pregnancy. The result show that there are uterine notching on left & right side. Which my doctor explained it might affecting the baby intrauterine growth as the blood not go smoothly to the baby, and I might develops preeclampsia even though my BP taken was within normal range 114/80 (my BP always on lower side 100/60).
At this moment doctor only advice to continue my 100mg (1,5tab) aspirin.
I also read on internet, some moms with this condition are also taken calcium tablet. But not sure why my doctor didnt advice me to take this.
Has anyone here experience this also?
Is it true thay if you have preeclampsia, early delivery the baby is often recommended?
Is it more calcium supplement intake will help to prevent the preeclampsia?
Is there any food or exercise can solve this notch uterine?
Please help to share, as Iam very concern about this today 😣.

- 2024-07-23Hello everyone! I'm packing my hospital bag in advance and wondering if I need to bring breast milk storage bags or bottles? I understand that there won't be much breast milk in the first few days post-delivery, so not sure what to pack..
If there's colostrum, how do I store them?
Thanks in advance! 🌻
- 2024-07-23It has been 8 months since I gave birth, but I never really felt desire to have sex, we have it like once or twice a month sometimes nothing at all, my husband feels like I’m losing interest on him or so on, I don’t know how to make him understand that, I don’t even know why I don’t have the urge to have sex.
- 2024-07-23Do I need infant insert for my LO who is 3mths+ now? In addition how do I know if I have place my LO correctly inside a tula?
For front facing in position, must her head be covered by the tula or it has to 'come out' from the tula? FTM here.
- 2024-07-24For the past few months, my husband and I have been constantly fighting. Sometimes the reasons are trivial, sometimes big... In any case, I feel like something is wrong. Whether it's with me or with my husband, I don't know. Finally, I suggested we go to a counselor... but he got really mad and said that counseling is only for crazy people. But I didn't give up. I secretly made an appointment and tricked him. I told him I needed company for shopping... he didn't want to go because he was tired. I insisted... and it turned into a fight. Finally, I told him I had already made an appointment with a counselor. He got really angry...
I don't understand why he had to be so angry. I'm just trying to save our marriage.
- 2024-07-24My husband gets really annoyed when he sees our child wetting the bed or when I ask him to help change our child's diaper. Our child is only 11 months old. Isn't that normal?
Because of how annoyed he is, he's now often trying to teach our child to pee in the toilet. He holds him like that. I don't like seeing it... like... why can't you just accept that our child is still a baby and isn't at the stage where he can signal when he needs to pee yet?
Is it safe to do potty training at that age?
- 2024-07-24My mother-in-law always thinks there's a problem with my child's babysitter. I've already changed babysitters twice because they kept arguing with my mother-in-law. Either they weren't clean enough, or they were too close to my child. The problem is, my mother-in-law is confrontational and likes to yell. None of the babysitters can handle it.
I talked to my husband. He spoke to his mother, but she got mad and said, 'That's because I love your child!!! That's my grandchild!!!'
I don't know anymore. I'm so stressed. Now I have to find another babysitter because I really need one. I have to work, and it's impossible to leave my child with just the grandmother.
P.S. She also doesn't allow me to put my child in daycare. Ugh.
- 2024-07-24I’ve been struggling with my relationship with my mom for a long time, and it's making me seriously reconsider having children of my own. Growing up, my mom was always critical and controlling, which left me feeling inadequate and constantly seeking her approval. Even now, as an adult, I find myself affected by her words and actions, which often lead to anxiety and self-doubt.
I see my friends having children and embracing parenthood, but the idea of becoming a parent fills me with fear. I worry that I might repeat the same patterns and unintentionally hurt my own children the way my mom has hurt me. I want to break this cycle, but I’m not sure how to overcome these fears and build a healthy family environment.
To make matters worse, my mom keeps asking me when I’m going to have children, as if she’s done the best job being a mother. I hate her for putting that pressure on me.
Has anyone else experienced this? How did you cope with these feelings and make a decision about having children? Any advice or support would be greatly appreciated.
- 2024-07-24I'm in a bit of a dilemma here.... My first child, who has always been the center of our world, is not excited about the arrival of their upcoming sibling. In fact, they’ve expressed feelings of jealousy and fear of losing our attention. She is 3,5 yo now...
We’ve tried to involve them in preparations and talk about how exciting it will be to have a new baby in the house, but nothing seems to help. They’re acting out more and becoming increasingly clingy, which is starting to worry me.
Her reaction to my second pregnancy is quite concerning. Once she was patting my belly... I thought she finally changed her mind... But instead she said, "UGLY BABY, you should just die, little baby"... What should I do? I was so surprised, not knowing where those words are coming from.
How did you handle introducing a new sibling to your firstborn?
- 2024-07-24Hi FTM here.
I'm returning to work soon and worried about pumping.
1. I only have 2 breast pumps. What if I need to pump 3 times? Can I reuse the parts without sterilizing? (Don't think there's sterilizer in the office)
2. After pump, I plan to keep in cooler bags with ice packs then transfer to fridge/freezer when I reach home. Is it ok? If I transfer from cooler bag to fridge, is it still good for 3 days? If I transfer from cooler bag to freezer, is it still good for 3 months?
For mums with similar situation, is it very tiring honestly 😭 worried that I might give up on Breastfeeding after returning to work.

- 2024-07-24Hi mummies! I just went for my 38 week check up and after cervical check doc says I’m already 3cm dilated. She also helped to stretch the cervix to encourage labour as I will not be induced this time round. Really nervous as I am hoping for a successful VBAC. Any idea/experiences on how soon I might go into active labour?
- 2024-07-24In the evening, I go to toilet and realised my panty liner was soaked. Problem is I don't even realised or know I peed.. is this common at such early stage of pregnancy or should I be worried that's it's sign of water break?
- 2024-07-24Hi mummies, as I’m unsure whether I’m going through a csect or natural birth yet, can I check how many maternity pads (thinking of Kotex panty) do we need? How many days do we bleed and how many a day roughly for both csect and natural? Thank you.

- 2024-07-25Just as the question above.. I felt uncomfortable and upset actually even if it's downstairs. By the way the helper belongs to my husband grandma. We are only staying at grandma house while waiting for BTO.
Helper sometimes will say to baby "come I bring you down." I m there but she didn't ask me. Once my in law came and I was eating but suddenly she took LO from my in law and then just carry her out, never inform.
Very very pissed. But think my in law didn't mind cos they treat her like family (she is really good la but I just feel uncomfortable for her not informing and feels like she always like to do things her way).
- 2024-07-25Hi mommies just wanted to ask

Kindly share your experience and thoughts:)

- 2024-07-26Hello, any mummies engage Dr Shilla Mariah’s as gynae before? Does she grant HL generously? My SPD is back again like first pregnancy, I was given 1 month HL by previous gynae. Wondering if she’s flexible ?

A first time mum here, and despite the many benefits of breastfeeding, I think I would want to just bottle feed from the start right after delivery.
Is this acceptable at government hospitals?
Thank you.

- 2024-07-26My 2 month old baby is starting to smile very often now. He will smile when we talk to him. But notice that he will also smile himself when nobody is around. Is that normal?
- 2024-07-26Anyone’s baby is diagnosed with IUGR? When i was 30 weeks, doctor said that my baby’s weight is only 1.1kg. During the scan, it showed that the blood flow from my placenta to baby is not good and doctor said that its showing reversed blood flow. Even the blood flow in my baby’s brain is not great. Any mummies have experience this and what can i expect after birth? Also what can i do to improve the situation or atleast maintain ? :(
- 2024-07-26I just did my 20 week scan and realised there is this antenatal package offered by kkh for private patients. Anyone has applied for this? Is it really worth it?
- 2024-07-2617 months exclusively breastfeeding and its time to stop sadly. Has anyone gone through this successfully without suddenly doing a cold turkey on ur baby? Any kind and proven tips? Feels like the highest level of hard for weaning at this stage because of the factors we have 🥺
*(Baby never accepted bottle since forever yes we have tried so many brands n routines, doesn't accept pacifiers, and drinks only water from the straw bottle, sees white milk refuses to drink, eats three meals and two snacks without fuss, )
- 2024-07-26Hi mummies,
Can I choose A1 ward while being in the subsidized route?
Will my follow up checkup after being in an A1 ward become private or subsidised still?
- 2024-07-26As a first time parent, a lot of things we were not sure about. Recently we felt a dent at the back of baby head. Baby was only 1 mth old. He was fine and was drinking normally. Decided to head to A&E to consult whether is it normal. A skull xray was ordered. Was abit reluctant to do as we felt it wasn't smth serious but we still went ahead just in case. Result came out normal. Was then referred to a specialist for follow up and was told that the dent i felt was normal for him. Asked if the xray was neccessary, she said strictly speaking no, but becasue we went to A&E, they ordered xray to rule out something serious. Perhaps, they were also not specialised in this area. Until today, I blame and question myself if the visit was even necessary and am i being overly paranoid over the dent. Also, as a first time parent, we were not sure where to bring baby when we have concerns. Felt that if we had brought him to a head specialist, baby could have avoided the test and thus being exposed to radiation. Our love for him ended exposing him to radiation esp when he is so small as there is always an increased risk of cancer from radiation. Felt really down & guilty
- 2024-07-26Hi mummy im currently in the hospital and been here for 3 days and still stuck at 1cm and I lost my mucus plug and bleed a little any mom know how to help with a dialing? #advice #firsttimemom
- 2024-07-26My baby has a separation anxiety. She'll cry if she doesn't see me around or when i ignore her cos i was doing something. I took care of her all by my self from birth till now. Is this normal?
- 2024-07-26Tried Isomil but smell bad n baby don't like it
- 2024-07-27Hi. I had a miscarriage in February 2024 and recently tested positive. Is it normal for a 6 week to have an empty sac, no heartbeat? I’m anxious
- 2024-07-27Looking for early Jan EDD mummies to form a small support group. 😊
- 2024-07-27Currently at 39 weeks and 2 days now. Had a membrane sweep yesterday at the clinic and was 1cm dilated and I think I lost my mucus plug today at around 10AM.
Kept having irregular contractions every 10 minutes for an hour then stops in another hour then continues to have it again in another hour. It's painful like our monthly dysmenorrhea and is having backaches.
Should I wait for a bloody show or my water breaking before heading to the hospital? And wait for contractions every 5 mins? What to do while waiting?
Since I'm planning to have an epidural, the anesthesiologist won't reject giving me a shot if I'm having my contractions every 5 mins, right?

- 2024-07-27I’m so envious of parents who ask if they should wake their babies up for feed. I’m having the direct opposite issue of baby not sleeping long stretches especially at night. My baby is 8 weeks old and I see often that they could be sleeping longer stretches at least 3 hours now but I rarely get that. Baby is always waking up within 1-2 hours if I’m lucky I get 2 plus hours.
I’m so exhausted I don’t know what can I do. I EBF and don’t seem to have issue with supply cause baby is contented after feeds. It feels like he’s a very light sleeper, he doesn’t like to lie on his back to sleep. He only sleeps better when he’s contact napping and lying on his chest. Night times are really hard for both my husband and I. If we could put him down on his back we might be able to sleep better but LO just doesn’t take it well.
