Great for family bonding when you get the whole family involved. And the best part is that you get the house cleaned in the process. ;)

Depends on where you are staying, or if you don't mind the travel. We usually go to the West Coast Park for a picnic! We pack some snacks and drinks and the kid's bicycles or scooter. Either I would make some light lunch like sandwiches or pass by a food court for take away. There is so much to do there and you can even rent those tandem bicycles :-) Gardens by the Bay is also a favourite but the Children's Garden can be too crowded on weekends. Botanical Garden is also nice. Sentosa does not cost much as well, if you buy food from Vivo City or bring your own from home. How about Nature trails? Like the Bukit Timah, Mt Faber and McRicthie Reservoir. A day at Pulau Ubin would be an adventure! :-)

Here are some activities that you can explore with your kids and they are free! 1) The Animal Resort http://www.littledayout.com/listing/the-animal-resort-4fe483c4c4766.html 2) Children's Garden http://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/en/the-gardens/far-east-organization-childrens-garden.html 3) Fire Stations Open House http://sg.kidlander.com/activities/fire-stations-open-house/ 4) Sandcastle Building Lessons http://www.castlescanfly.com/services/castle-beach/#! 5) West Coast Park Playground https://www.nparks.gov.sg/gardens-parks-and-nature/parks-and-nature-reserves/west-coast-park

I never really bring my boys out as it's either troublesome or expensive. Most of the time I play with them at home or downstairs. I bought sand from floral shop and buy canvas sheet and create sand pit near corridor for them to play and play doh with them at home. Do some painting downstairs, play with dried leaves around the garden near playground or go cycling. I create some water play for them at service yard and create pretend play with them at home or corridor. Kids just want to spend time with us so no need go far or expensive.

You can bring your kids to outdoor places like water playground with free admission like 112 Katong, IMM, Tampines 1 Water playground, Westgate Wonderland, vivocity, Marina barrage or Gardens by the bay. Otherwise, its always nice to stay in the aircon place like library where the kids can spend some time reading some books. Sometimes, i will bring my kids to fish farm at pasir ris, farmart at Cck, Bontanic garden or east coast park for pinic or cycling sessions. There are just too many to lists on.

There are lots of free places in Singapore ! The museums are all free, public playgrounds , library , or for minimal fee public swimming pool. All not too mentioned all the free gardens , Hort park , Botanic Gardens, Jacob ballas. Actually we are very blessed to have many free open spaces in Singapore . My personal favourite is Labrador Park ! Now the current popular spot is the marine cove playground but I will avoid that for now no thanks to the crowd

1. Marina barrage - entry to the gallery is free and people go to the rooftop to fly kites 2. Marina Bay Sands has a laser light show in the evenings, it's free 3. The Esplanade has free performances sometimes, depending on the festival 4. Libraries 5. Singapore Art Museum - the Imaginarium exhibit is free for locals and PR 6. Chinatown - there is lion dance (at temple street?) every Saturday evening around 6pm..
