Does a newborn recognise a daddy as much as mummy? I hear babies get familiar with their mum's smell. Is this also thr case for fathers?
Yes, but that happens after the baby turns 3 months. At this age the baby is able to differentiate between a male and female picture. But the way he responds to his father depends on two important things: - The amount of time you spend with him (as a caregiver). Usually, mothers take control of this role simply because they are breatsfeeding and are able to bond better. However, contrarily, if you are the primary caregiver, the child will be able to recognise you better. - The other factor is favouring a particular gender. Studies by Paul C. Quinn, PhD, a professor of psychology at the University of Delaware, suggest that infants favour one sex over the other, but it is not pre-programmed. Again, this also depends on your bong with the baby.

Baby will know their mums and dads. Baby not only get familiar with mum’s smell but also with his dad. But in a lot of cases, mums spend more time with the baby hence baby gets familiar faster with her.
My husband only visits once a month for 2 days only. He works in city (9hrs drive by car). But my baby which is 8mos old still recognize her daddy. She even fall asleep in short time if her daddy carries her.
I think it depends on the time he shares with the baby starting from new born. Some dad can just be too busy even at home, you don't expect an infant to recognised a busy father right?
Yes, u spend time talking n playing with them to create the bond. Perhaps every bednight, spend sometime tgt with mum to chitchat with baby (:
Not really. They live in mummies tummies so naturally they will be more familiar with mummy then daddy.
