Does a newborn recognise a daddy as much as mummy? I hear babies get familiar with their mum's smell. Is this also thr case for fathers?

Yes. If the dad is always taking care the baby. Or if he is always talking to your baby.
I think it's both, especially when parenting duties are shared as equally as possible.
They do, if you were talking to them when she was in the mum's tummy.
