5 weeks pregnant but no baby in ultrasound

I'm 5 weeks pregnant and all my pregnancy test kit are positive. But when Ihad my ultrasound today, the doctor cannot see any thing yet nor a sac or a baby. Is it normal to not have any result in ultrasound by 5 weeks?

The same situation with my friend. They told them to comeback just to make sure if there's a baby or not. They also gave her instructions from what to do and drink. Please consult ur ob.
