They recommend to start as early as 3 month old so they won't still get too scared of the water and the swim coach will be able to let them dive into the water. I started mine a bit later so he got scared and didn't want to go back again :-)
My friend brought hers to BabySpa at 2mo and he loved it! Think it depends on how comfortable you are. There are also indoor heated pools that require parental involvement. Check SwimFast and AquaBambinos to find out.

5 years old! My kid's swimming coach mentioned at least need to be 3.5 years old to learn swimming. There are infant swimming class available. One of them is Marsden Swim School at Grandstand.
My boys started at 5. But I have seen friends who throw them into the pool at 6 months. It's really up to how comfortable you and the child is.
At 1 month old we already brought him to the beach. Soak him with salt water, they say it’s good for the skin. Natural skin treatment 😉
I started my LO swim class when he turns 6 Mths . Prior to this I brought him to public pools as well as baby spa
My elder one started swimming when she was 2 and half years, and the younger one when she was 1 and half years.
I brought my little one for baby swim classes when she was 3 months old.
Mine were in the pool with their daddy since they were three months old.
