Full day would be best so the child would adapt to the school better but there are always pros and cons to both options. You should decide on what works best for you. List everything down, you'll be able to see a clearer picture.
My MIL was against our decision to put our child in full day CC but we ignore her. Now my LO is doing great, able to socialise well.
Half day is good enough if there is someone from ur family to help take care of ur lo in the afternoon.
Better to be taken care by someone trusted. If there's some one taking care for u, go for half day
