Bring stroller onboard public transportions
Hi all. Im a SHM, my LO is 6mths and has never go out “gaigai” except when he visits the polyclinic and our parents. Due to my hubby work schedule (hes in retail and hence the long working hrs), i stayed at home most of the time. I really wish show my LO the outside world but i think i might be a hinder when outside with a stroller. Especially taking the bus. Does anybody has this thought? Im also afraid i might not be able to handle it alone. May i know how you guys actually do it? Thanks.
Hi, I am a SAHM and hubby always travel due to his work. I have been bringing my girl out to the nearby mall since she was 3-4 months using carrier. Even now she is 19 months, if hubby not around and I needed to bring her out alone, I still use the baby carrier. Only if I am going out for long(meeting friends) and my girl needs to nap during that time, I will walk instead to the nearby mall with her in the stroller, if I choose to take the bus with stroller then I will fold the stroller when in the bus while she will be in the carrier till I reach the mall, then only will put her in.
Read morenow that stroller is allowed inside the bus it's actually easier for parents, I remember 4 years ago, when I had my 1st baby, everytime go inside the bus hv to fold the stroller and carry the baby but now u can just go inside the bus from the middle door. But the priority still for the disabled, don't expect the bus driver to open the path for you to enter the bus, it's only for the disabled as their wheelchair is the metal/heavy type and their body weight also not light as baby 😜😉
Read moreHello mummy theres always a first time to every experience. first time out alone with baby can be nerve wrecking 😲. for a start I suggest for you to have a walk with baby ard the neighborhood. once you get the hang of it you can try to venture other nearby places. you may want to consider to travel during non peak period if you want to travel by public transport. I do agree babywear comes in handy especially traveling by bus. jia yo you can do this! 💪
Read moreHi SAHM... most public buses allow mums with strollers to board from the back door. As long as you tap your ez link card, no problem. Taking the train is easier but try to avoid morning and evening Irish hours. There’s lifts at most malls, mrt stations and bus interchange. No worries.
Hi mummy! Totally agree that it can be stressful. like what the other mums have commented, baby wearing is another option. But if a stroller is still your best choice, then opt for a super lightweight one but sturdy, and best if it can be folded with one hand.
Hi Mummy, using a stroller alone with your baby can be quite nerve wrecking especially when people are looking at you to hurry on the buses and trains. I suggest babywearing as it is more convenient and u can also shop with both ur hands:)
Read moreYou might want to bring your child out with the stroller around your neighbourhood to familiarise yourself or for a complete peace of mind, use a carrier. You will be able to bring your child anywhere with ease
my mom will be with me. I will sling my LO and my mom will be holding the stroller. will fold the stroller in advance so it's easier to board the bus. hence I strongly recommend 1 hand fold strollee
Go gaigai nearby with strollers first. Always bring carrier just incase LO will refuse to ride stroller. Nowadays bus, mrt, very convenient. Everywhere got lift access too ☺️
