I'm having the most difficult time finding a nasal aspirator for my little one to clear his nose. Seems like most of the Guardians and Watsons keep very little stock and have run out. Is there any DIY fix for clearing a blocked nose?

You can purchase this Pigeon Nasal Aspirator from NTUC or Kiddy Palace. It's readily available and costs $6.90. This one is very effective for mucus. You hold up the bottle to his nose and suck out the mucus gently through a connecting tube. The mucus gets collected in the bottle, which can be opened and washed. Some parents use a saline solution in a syringe and pump it up the child's nostril. The mucus does get flushed out, but I wouldn't recommend it because I feel it might hurt the child's nostrils. http://www.fairprice.com.sg/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?urlRequestType=Base&catalogId=10051&categoryId=13710&productId=75458&errorViewName=ProductDisplayErrorView&langId=-1&top_category=&parent_category_rn=13710&storeId=10001

I use this NoseFrida brand, which you can buy from Mothercare. http://www.nosefrida.com/ I find it is very easy to use compared to other brands. It is very easy to wash and clean too. You need to purchase addition blue stopper for hygiene purpose.

DIY Fix would be the saline solution flushing the nose. But not many parents are actually comfortable with doing it. You can also cut a yellow onion in half and place it near your baby's cot. It will help to open up their nasal congestion

I second the idea of using your mouth to suck the mucus out. It's a very traditional way even though it sound unhygienic and scary. But as long as our little ones are feeling better, I guess we parents would try anything.

Another alternative method is to use your mouth to suck the mucus out. My dad swears by this. I wouldn't do it myself no matter how much I love my son so I'd get my dad to do it for me

Have you tried sterimar for baby? Supposed to be good, can get at Guardian and Watsons (I found one with a pharmacy that had the 0-3 month version).

Nasal wash... you can refer to this video for guidance... https://www.facebook.com/1621883754784530/videos/1680309332275305/?pnref=story
