YES, mosquito patches help me. I buy the Vit B mossie patches and the citronella bracelets and I put the patch up on my arm and the bracelet around my ankle plus a light spray of mossie spray if they are hovering about. If I'm in a non malaria or dengue area I don't care what brand the spray is but if in a known disease prone area on goes the DEET like Bushman's. A few of us also reckon taking Berocca at sun up and late arvo also helps (vit b) but some dispute this. Works for us. Another natural remedy that mossies seem to hate is lavender oil if you don't want to use too many insecticides. Maybe try putting some Lavender oil in a spray bottle with some water and misting it over your clothes (I haven't tried this yet).

Most parents prefer patches as it has minimal skin contact so less chance of absorption thru the skin. However the patch is also not 100% effective as my nephew still got bitten even though he was wearing 2 patches, 1 on his shirt and 1 on his shorts for full body coverage (According to my cousin). Tiger Balm is a fav among mothers who uses patches

Yes. Mosquito patches are effective however I do not like to use patches as it stains on my kids' clothes if we didn't remove it before washing. Thus, I choose non-deet and chemical free mosquito repellent like Babyganics Natural Deet Free Insect Repellent. You can purchase from iherbs.com at about $13 per bottle (6oz).

Patches are effective as well as there is less side effects of spraying chemicals on your babies skin. However you have to use a few patches for full coverage and to make sure your baby doesn't get bitten by mosquitoes. I prefer to use the Tiger brand of patches.

Mosquito patches are efficient, but there's something comforting about a bug spray that you can see it covering your skin! Homemade bug sprays also are a little bit more eco-friendly, such as this: http://wellnessmama.com/2565/homemade-bug-spray/

I have tried but it never seemed to work for me. I only tried once though then i switched to making my own repellent.
