Do mosquito patches really work? Or do I need to supplement with repellant?

Yes. Mosquito repellent patch is effective. It is safe for baby as long as you do not stick it directly on their delicate skin. You can stick it on their shirt, their playpen or stroller. You can use bug repellent for extra protection. I personally use California baby bug repellent on my 6 months old boy. This insect repellent is very effective. Mosquito did not bite on area which I have applied the repellent. You can get the repellent from Watsons!

I prefer mosquito repellent over patches. For patches, you need to stick quite a few pieces over few areas and it is not so economical since patches are quite expensive also. At times it will leave marks on the cloth if forgot to peel off. I choose non-deet and chemical free mosquito repellent like Babyganics Natural Deet Free Insect Repellent. You can purchase from iherbs.com at about $13 per bottle (6oz).

My mummy friends swear by mosquito patches. The smell is quite strong even from a distance away. They say their babies don't get bitten when using the patches, although I would still cover my baby in long sleeved clothing. I feel that mosquito patches are more than enough. If you need more, you could get a mosquito repellent as well. http://tian-long.com.sg/citronella/

I previous use greenbaby too on my daughter and it's pretty effective but however, it leaves a sticky residue on her shirts after I peel it off so I switch to using repellent. I'm using california baby (love this brand!) and has a pleasant smell. It works, so far haven't had my daughter complaint of any bites.

We used mosquito patches when my child is below 1yr old then we start using mosquito repellent as he is running around and we prefer to protect him fully from mosquitos.

Super Mum

Patches protect a small area only and it’s on the clothes, hence sometimes it’s not fullproof. I use patch for my infant but prefer spray for my toddler

thanks
