Prunes!! they are one of the healthiest foods available worldwide!! they have many benefits like preventing constipation, provides iron (which helps in haemoglobin production), prevent joint pains during pregnancy, etc, etc. hough prunes dont have any side effects directly but over consumption might lead to gas and diarrhea. This might lead to the baby not actually receiving any nutrients

Preserved food are not beneficial for the body whether pregnant or not. And for them to preserve it, a lot of salt and sugar has to be added to it. Take in moderation I would say because I understand it does help in nausea as well. Nothing really to be careful about except that it can cause acidity and gas in tummy.

Other than the points mentioned by the users here, one other thing to take note is the product's country of origin, date of manufacturing and expiry, and eat them after checking to make sure there are no worms in them.

I don't know about this one but I usually have the Sunsweet brand. I would be careful with the unknown foreign brand as they may contain chemicals not recommended for pregnant and lactating moms.

Prunes are recommended during pregnancy but not in excess. They contain a lot of sugar, so it can increase the blood sugar levels also having excess prunes might coz gastric problems

Preserved food contain high levels of sugars, so do go easy on them. You might want to try fresh prunes or those pitted prunes from Sunsweet. they help with constipation too :)

I took a packet during pregnancy but it was way too sour and salty. I recommend Sunsweet Prunes instead. Helps if you suffer from constipation too.
