Szechuan preserved vegetable soup

Is szechuan preserved veg soup (四川菜湯) safe for pregnancy? I’m in my first trimester and have been having cravings for savoury food. I’ve seen mixed response on the internet about preserved food. Just wondering if it’s safe to drink the soup (and not eat the veg)? #firsttrimester #foodcravings #pregnancy

I ate the preserved vegetable and drank szechuan preserved vegetable soup throughout my three trimesters but of course, in moderation. I don’t drink it every day or often because it is salty (to me) and might cause water retention.

Honestly I ate everything during my pregnancy but also super careful but I feel like best is not to eat in first trimester best to eat in third or second trimester…

Not advisable… but once in a while is fine. I had it for my first and second pregnancy but only from late second trimester onwards (:

Preserved food is generally not advisable even to the non pregnant women. But it depends on how serious are you with your diet.

Yes, I had it during my late second trimester onwards too. Most importantly, everything just eat it moderately.

Hm..Best to limit your intake. How about tomato based pastas? Also sourish.
