Ya even with visible tummy showing I hardly get seat offered to me and I would not ask for seat even though I'm tired as I feel most just pretend not to see anyway. Some aunties even beat me to vacated priority seats and sat down stare at me. On a side note I have noticed that on the rare few occasions I got seat offered to me were by Indian or Chinese men who looked like blue collar workers instead of our fellow Singaporeans sigh. One Indian guy even made a lady offer her priority seat to me as he was standing next to her. Heartwarming but disheartening that sometimes the ones who actually are more considerate are our foreigner friends.
Mummies don't care abt being embarrassed... I am anemic.. I can't stand too long. Before this incident I was like others also paisey. Waiting for some kind soul to offer me seat. I was 5 months Peggy with visible tummy I felt as though I was going to black out.. So I ask a foreigner for his seat he gave up. Once I alight at DG. I know my pressure was dropping. I sat at the platform and just fainted fall from the bench. MRT staff rush to help me out. From there I decide its OK to be "plastic face" instead of risking 2 lives. If we fall.. Our baby bump will hit the ground first. 2 lives involves... Think about it.
I usually don't ask for seats and try to stand aside to avoid people knocking into me or leaning for more support. Most of the times, I only get offered seats by office man in mid 20s to 30s and older aunties who also needed a seat. Most office ladies would just ignore though.
U tell them u feel giddy. Me with visible tummy also no one offers the seat unless I ask.. Sad thing is ladies look at me and my tummy then ignore me... Regardless young or old age, the look will be like "aiyo nuisance"😢
Usually i will cover my tummy to prevent ppl knock until. Also do not ask for seat. Try to look out for seat if possible. Now adays many inconsiderate ppl, don't give out seat to pregnant lady only to old ppl.
I always try to make sure I am first to enter the door. Look around and see who notice me, eye contact, give a sad look. Usually works especially with men. Middle age women are the least likely to give seat.
36weeks tummy is visible I guess, most people will pretend did not see me. I hardly get seat at MRT during my pregnancy now, people continue to ignore me when seeing me carrying my newborn at MRT
I ever felt super giddy during my 3rd or 4th month of pregnancy till almost wanted to faint but too bad. No one gave me seat. End up have to alight the train and sit down at the platform
Happened to me too! Even once I accidentally “grabbed” someone cos I fell off my balance and almost black out so can’t see anything, I said I’m sorry but I’m so giddy and can’t see. Nobody gave up their seat to me.
Never asked for seat. But people should be considerate and leave the special seat empty always so that we don't have to beg for it ☹
If i am too tired to stand, i will approach them to vacant the seat. Otherwise, take it as a form of exercise to stand.
