Maintain regular follow-ups with the Breast specialist doc, they will usually monitor if there's growth or if it's odd shape via ultrascans. From my experience, if all is well, doc will not advise much other than go back for ultrascans regularly. But subsequently I went to remove the cyst with the advice of my doc when she noticed that it's progressively growing. I'll say just maintain a positive spirit and provide your wife with the support she needs. Take care!

Breast lumps are fairly common. It is best left to the professionals to advise what needs to be done though. Usually, they will look at the shape of the lump via ultrasound and see if it is concerning enough to warrant a biopsy. They can either extract a small sample for testing or to excise(remove) the lump completely. Wait for results then review with doctor to see it is is benign or malignant. Then weigh options again by then.

Normally dr will advise. I’ve recently undergone a breast biopsy coz the shape of the cyst is odd according to them. Size was not alarming. But on safe side, done biopsy for the peace of mind. If there’s many cyst, dr may even advice for the half yearly ultrasound for monitoring. It really depends. Suggest to check with the dr for advise.
