What's the duration of the GD test? I was told to come in the morning cos it will last the whole day.
You will need to fast 8 hours before the test. On arriving, they draw blood first. Then you will be asked to drink the very sweet drink. Then they will draw blood again after 1 hour and after 2 hours. So by then it's almost lunch time, and you would be very hungry by then, so best to get early 8am appointment kind
Read moreThere’s 3 blood test for GD. I did my first blood test at 8:30am, followed by the next one at 9:30am & the last at 10:30am. After that I could finally start eating. What I find disgusting is the orange glucose drink that we’ll have to consume after the first blood test... :/
Fasting before going for the blood tests. 3 blood tests in total. You will need to wait for am hour after each blood test. It will take at least 1/2 a day including gynae appointment.
