You will make little morsels but your hand will still make a big feeding thing. Also, if you will feed with a spoon there will be less mess. Plus, when the baby will grow up, he will be comfortable eating with the spoons...will be easier to teach table manners. Though I myself eat with hands but when my kid was this tiny I found feeding him with a spoon more convenient.
