I have 2 as a gift for my LO too when she was a baby. Yes the coloring and materials are safe for babies to chew. Perhaps you can try to let it out for awhile to air it or wash it before giving it to your LO.

I don’t remember the initial smelling of the rubbery smell, coz now almost 2 years now no smell(I have checked earlier) If you can gift exchange card for that, maybe you can go to the shop and ask to smell of the other Sophies

I got one as a gift and yes it does smell rubbery at first. My #1 never used it but my #2 loved it. Depends on the kid i suppose. I think any teether would do, doesn't have to be this specific.

I plan to buy one initially but after smell the teether at retail shop I decided to not buy it. Its more of some fragrant+rubbery smell to me which I feel gross.

ita not really worth the price as to me its like any other teether for example from mother care

I didn’t get it, I feel it’s too overhype and expensive. Normal teether will do good too.

But be careful that it may get mouldy inside if don't dry thoroughly

I did not. Not worth the money imo
