I would like to treat my family to a vacation this March holiday period. Where is a good destination for some father and son bonding? I would like them to be able to do more activities together apart from being glued to the Playstation.

What's your budget? If you're thinking about somewhere outside Singapore, try Philippines! Lots of island getaways and beautiful beaches - and not expensive at all. I found this article about a beach in PH and it claims you can have a fun 3D/2N vacation there for only about SGD400 for a family of 4! Of course, you'll have to add airfare expenses from SG to PH. If you are on a budget, you could consider Batam! I know lots of people have the misconception that Batam is for sleazy men with dirty intentions but it's actually quite a fun place to bring your kids. There's Go-karting you could do, or high net activities like walking across ropes at a high, etc (Barelang Acticities) and the seafood there is pretty affordable. A return ticket to Batam with taxes only cost $48/per person and the ride takes only about an hour from Singapore.
