I was diagnosed with GD since 10 weeks preg cos my HBA1C was prediabetic & I failed my 2hrs OGTT test. I can totally relate cos the nurse keep emphasizing my baby could die that I went home crying. Being someone with PCOS, I've did intermittent fasting & 10k steps daily even before pregnancy but now I can't since preg. Like you said even eating 4 crackers & a cup of milk tea could spike my sugar level so I'm now on insulin shots, tried cutting my portion and left hungry most of the times. My HBA1C monthly reading is now back to healthy range but my blood glucose 2 hrs test numbers hasn't been that nice. It has been quite stressful & I've refused to see the nutritionist monthly cos it's always the same advise, cut down on portion or have salad during lunch etc when my body is the hungriest during that timing. Believe me, I've tried all that so I've decided to try my best to control but not put pressure on myself as it will affect me mentally and emotionally, I hope you can do the same & wish you all the best. Try not to be so sad about it cos the baby can feel your sadness.. gd luck to us!

throughout my whole journey, what ive learned is that.. no one knows us, better than ourselves. i know they are the professionals and they too want us to take care of ourselves in the best way possible, but at times we've done all that we could yet the results dont show. my two cents of thoughts, dont be too harsh on yourself and dont take their words to heart. for all that youve done, youre already doing your best for yourself and your baby. take some time off your daily schedule and have a good rest, do something you enjoy and put yourself first. i pray you will be given the strength to get through it all 💪🏻✨ you've got this mummy! sending virtual hugs and positive energy 💖

Thank you, yesterday was the hardest day for me throughout my pregnancy. I appreciate your support

I’m so sorry to hear that, mummy. It must be a tough journey for you to deal with work and GD. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. GD is pretty common durning pregnancy and it usually will recover after giving birth. Maybe look at the brighter side that the dr and nurse are meant well that they do not wish to see you develop type2 diabetes. You may also raise your concern and feelings to the nurse that you feel not comfortable by the words she said. You may also asked the nurse what to have during the 8 hrs of gap before your next meal. I believe there are things you could eat that can replace the snacks you taking. Take care mummy, and I pray all the best to you ya.

If it helps, I read that GD is not mainly caused by your diet but by the hormonal changes from pregnancy, some moms who get GD may even have the cleanest diets. I personally don’t have it despite eating unhealthily especially throughout my first trimester. So don’t blame yourself! Heartburn may also get crazy so it’s understandable that you have to eat.. like the other comment said, only we know ourselves the best. You’re doing your best for baby and that’s enough :)

I couldn't control my diet very well so my gynae suggested for me to take insulin although my GD wasn't serious. Perhaps you can discuss this with your gynae.
