U can consult a lactation consultant. Happened to me to. After I gave birth, the Nurses did not taught me the right way to latch hence I was in terrible pain. Due to constant engorgement , I consulted sister Kang from mt Alvernia parentcraft , thank god I did, now my LO is day 18 old and still latching on , also I do not need the nipple cream anymore. I just need to feed him constantly every 2-3 hours and use haakaa (recommended by sister Kang too) to catch the let down. I have a spectra s1 but see no point in pumping as the haakaa works well ! My advise is Don’t delay in getting a lactation consultant advise cause it’s really painful and suffering !!

Will need to correct the latch of baby. -The lips should be splayed outwards -The nose, mouth and chin should be touching the breast at the same time -The lips should be sucking on the areola (dark area around the nipple), not on the nipple directly Also apply some nipple cream before and after feeding (lots of brands/types. I happened to use the Medela Purelan ointment, available at pharmacies/Shopee, etc) You can also apply a bit of breastmilk on the nipple to relieve the pain. If you’re still struggling with breastfeeding, call up the hospital you delivered in. All of them should have lactation consultants you can get help from:) hang in there!

Mine cracked and bleeds. Pain everytime I breastfeed. What i did was apply breastmilk on my nipple religiously and it helps! Ang Nipple cream in the market helps too. Hang in there mummy!

Sadly no. Just apply nipple cream and let your nipples air. Eventually they get used to baby sucking so often and the pain stops.

No choice. Spam nipple cream and apply breastmilk after each feed. It will get better. Just press on.
