Many women give gripe water for colic in babies. I used to melt asafoetida in water and apply it on my daughter's navel and it helped a great deal in not forming any gas in her stomach. So, you can try this as well for the colic, as it is not something that you have to make baby drink or eat. https://healdove.com/alternative-medicine/Indian-home-remedies-for-infant-colic-How-to-treat-infant-stomach-pain-gas-and-colic

even though a lot of people say it is good to relieve colic, i would suggest you avoid using gripe water for your baby. instead, you can speak to your baby's doc about a colic medicine called colic aid. it helped my younger one a lot. you can also try massaging your baby's navel using a mix of heeng and water, do this through the day as it helps to release gas and eases pain.

my younger one was severely colicy and we did try giving gripe water, but honestly, it does not help. instead, i massaged her navel area with a mix of heeng and water and it seemed to make her feel at ease.

I have not tried of gripe water. I must say, lucky me with not having to deal with colic.
